true soldiers go above and beyond te call of duty

It was a good movie. The first one was better, but the story line in the second one is better. Ttrue soldiers go above and beyond te call of duty. Good comradeship and love of country.

Not really for young kids, maybe 10y and above.

The ending is the best Everyone dies HEHEHEHAHAHAHAHHEHEHEH

Just kidding ...... watch and find out the cool ending.

Jon M. Chu should not be a director.

I'm a huge fan of the G.I. Joe fan franchise. I was a fan ever since I was a child. To see this movie ruin the image of G.I. Joe is shameful.

Action was good, I'll admit despite not showing a drop of blood, but it does nothing to save this horrendous piece of filth. It's so bad, it doesn't stay in sync with the first one. Storm Shadow died in the first one. Why is he back? What happened to Scarlett? Baroness? General Hawk?

I know the first one was bad, but they could have at least tried to stay true to that one. But no! Jon M. Chu just did what he pleased and he's supposed to be directing the He-Man movie.

Well it's official. No hope for Hollywood.

Blew the 1st one out the water

    by

This movie was awesome and completely blew the 1st one out of the water. THIS is how a Joe movie should have been done from the beginning

    It was okay

Overall the movie was okay - there was room left at the end for a sequel. I was seriously disappointed about some character decisions that they made. Some things just did not make sense.

Was More Like a G.I. Joe 4 Direct to DVD Release

The entire movie started off on the wrong foot. Too much time had passed between the two stories. What were the "nano wars"? There was no tie-in to the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and no resolution of any of the threads left open from the end of G.I. Joe 1. What happened to Baroness? Was she cured? Where did Ripcord Scarlett, and General Hawk go? The first movie had great production values and special effects. This had nothing more than a few explosions, cheesy jokes and a thin to nonexistent story. Don't waste your money. I can't imagine how bad the movie would have been if they didn't delay the release for almost a year. Utter crap.

    G.I Joe REtaliation

OMG!! this move was the bomb... We enjoyed it. Hate my handsome Tatium had to die, but it was well worth the sceen. He was awsome. Old Bruce Willis was not bad for a old guy. He still look good. And ROCK!! HOT!!! plus that had a kick *** girl in it, or should I say women. awsome.

    Awful movie

We left half way through, and we're action movie junkies ! I guess if you had seen the other GI Joe films, you would know the characters and the GI Joe story line. We didn't so we didn't stay. Disappointed in Bruce Willis -- we love his action films but this was not a good fit. All in all, wait until it appears on Vudu for $3.99.

    Freakin Bad@ass!!!!

Ten times better then the previous one that just sucked all over the place. Much better action and realism. Not totally overboard. The Rock and Willis did an awesome job.

For all you negative Nanny's...you have NO clue what your talking about. If you saw the previews that should have told you it was going to suck and you wouldn't have wasted your money. Morons.

Enjoyable but not much to it

If you've seen the trailer for GI Joe: Retaliation you've essentially seen the entire movie, bar one or two minor plot twists. The plot proceeds without any momentum as its pretty obvious from minute one how everything will play out.

The action scenes are so-so, most are nothing you haven't seen before. The highlight is the ninja battle on the side of a mountain, which is well done and actually fairly unique.

The characterization is weak and sketched out. Considering the only main characters recurring from the previous film are three of the villains and Snake Eyes(who doesn't talk), the introduction of the new characters is insufficient. The character of Jinx is given no background, and receives a paltry few lines.

All that said, it was an enjoyable time waster.

    Lots of Explosions

If I didn't have an 18-year-old grandson, whom I took, I probably wouldn't have seen G.I. Joe. That said, however, I've seen worse movies.

SPOILER ALERT: If I'd known that Duke (Tatum Channing) would get killed off early in, I probably wouldn't have gone at all!

How one event can ruin a movie

    by

Plot: Okay, Acting: Good, Fight Scenes: Good, Characters: Good... but where it failed was, without trying to add spoilers, was fairly near the beginning of the movie. And this one event destroyed the entire movie to me. And from that point on, i wasn't watching the movie anymore. I was just waiting for the writers to fix there mistake. Convincing myself with false hope that there was no way they would be so stupid was to leave the story as it was... but they never fixed it.. I even waited to the end of the credits, to hold on to that last little bit of hope. But alas, there was nothing there. And for that reason alone. This movie failed. Its the type of movie I wish I could go back and un-see. Because now all I am, is depressed.

One of the best action movies!

Can I just first say that I'm so glad they decided not to use the old cartoon as inspiration? What this movie lacks in an original plot and an awkward scene here and there, makes up for in action and awesome characters. Snake Eyes is still a bad-ass, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is awesome as Roadblock, but the real scene-stealer has to be Adrianne Palicki, both beautiful and kick-*** as Lady Jaye. Nothing oscar-worthy, but is definitely a must-see for both fans of G.I. Joe, as well as non-fans who just want to see one great action film.

    Better than the 1st one!

    by

I grew up on GI Joe as a kid and never understand why did they shoot 10000 shots but no one was ever hit....then the 1st live action movie came up and it was ok...but this 1 lived up to the hype and was really good! great action scenes and great great story line!
