I went for because I thought it was a thriller and turned out to be a cheesy suspenseful movie. Not really anything scary, could've waited to see it. Critics were right this time.

House at the end of the Street

While it had an interesting premise there were just too many plot holes in this movie. The mother is supposed to have been a teenage mom who married her musician boyfriend, but still had the time and money to become a doctor. After the murders Ryan was said to have lived in the house with an Aunt for five years. The same Aunt who he had been living with for the previous six years. Apparently no one in town ever saw or spoke with this women and no one thought it strange. There are plenty more.
Acting is ok since they had very little story to work with. My guess is if Hunger Games had not been a huge success this would have gone straight to DVD.

    Boring... Just boring

    by

Only reason i give this movie a no is because it was only decent the last 40 or so minutes maybe even less.. before that we get just the dullest teen type drama iv'e seen ever. Than all of a sudden it throws a twist near the end (and i like twists in movie) but honestly I did see this coming.. and the very end of the movie was just really? are parents that dumb? THe movie is just Lame and boring and a decent attempt at the end but fails overall.. they get a 2/5 for effort..

    Doing the best they can

    by

The acting was great, the soundtrack/lack of jumpy music was fantastic, the writing on the other had left a lot to be desired. If you're looking for some fun "oh my god! what?" moments and even a couple of screams then this movie is good for you. Just don't think too much about how terrible the writing is, the fact that the plot can't decide which direction to go in and you'll be fine!

I was surprised that this movie was actually pretty good.

I was surprised that this movie was actually pretty good. It seemed to be just another teen slasher movie, but it ended up being a little more complex and took a couple of turns. Jennifer Lawrence delivers as a street smart teen who has a strong independent streak. She definitely owns this movie and I am looking forward to seeing her in other roles. Elisabeth Shue has a relatively small part as the overprotective mother. It is kind of strange seeing her in such a small role. She still looks very good. This movie is worth a look...

    Nice twist

After watching the trailer I thought I understood the movie but the small twist at the end really made the movie. It was not as scary as I thought but it was a good movie.

    House

Some scary parts, but rather predictable. I still enjoyed it. Jennifer Lawrence is such a great actress. The tank tops didn't hurt your eyes either. Some twists and turns in the plot will keep you interested.

The House @ the End of the Street

Very good movie! I have to admit, I took my daughter and her 5 friends all 14-15yr olds to see this and inititally I thought this was going to be a "cheesy" scary movie, boy was I wrong! I jumped & screamed several times outloud!!! This movie ends totally different than what I was thinking and I give it a 2 thumbs up forsure! Definitely a MUST see!

    It's alright

Not too much to say about this one, some suspense some thriller, a comeback from Elisabeth Shue. As a whole it was so-so but i'd go see it if I was you.

    MUST SEE!

Haven't seen a good scary movie in awhile and House At The End Of The Woods was great! After the movie, this was all we talked about! Had a VERY surprising ending that I didn't expect. I give it 10 out of 10 stars! Best movie in a long, long time! Kept my attention the whole time, never a dull moment in the movie. Gives you that "edge of the seat thril"l, too! Ignore the negative comments and JUST SEE IT! =] You won't be disappointed!

    The Trailer Was Better

    by KISSman

If you are a 15-year old girl, you'll probably like this movie. If you're an adult who actually cares about the quality of the films you pay to see, you might not be able to get past how dumb parts of this movie (and the characters) are. It's keeps you entertained enough without actually being any good. The best part about it was Jennifer Lawrence wearing a tank top all movie long.

    Terrible

    by

I literally laughed out loud during some of the more "violent" parts of this movie. Because when high school kids don't like each other, the first thing they do is take bats to each others cars... and when they're told to stop they start beating someone up 5 on 1... and when the guy fights back they go light his house on fire... It was just so unbelievable. This is the last time I let me GF pick the movie without at least looking it up.

    ok movie

Not as thrilling as I expected. A few scares but much more. The surprise was interesting but then also the very last part left a few questions.

Forgot about it the moment i walked out the door...........

PREDICTABLE!!!!!! The camera work was terrible, i have never seen so many close up shots. There was barely any acting in this film, just people going through the motions of the script. The story has been done before many times, they just tweaked it some. You'll have it figured out in 30 minutes flat i promise you. The ending was nothing new either, total throwback to Silence Of The Lambs. You can tell by my short review that this movie has little to offer in terms of entertainment. I just wish i could go see a movie now that i didnt instantly forget when i left. If you really want to see this film just wait for dvd.
