House at the end of the Street

While it had an interesting premise there were just too many plot holes in this movie. The mother is supposed to have been a teenage mom who married her musician boyfriend, but still had the time and money to become a doctor. After the murders Ryan was said to have lived in the house with an Aunt for five years. The same Aunt who he had been living with for the previous six years. Apparently no one in town ever saw or spoke with this women and no one thought it strange. There are plenty more.
Acting is ok since they had very little story to work with. My guess is if Hunger Games had not been a huge success this would have gone straight to DVD.

    Not What I expected

    by TomW91

I was expecting the movie to be more 'ghostly' rather than some kid with a mental disorder. The story line was creative, but not well written.

House at the End of the Street: More Heart breaker than Horror

    by

Evocative "thriller" about a dysfunctional family. I really liked this movie because it showed neither people nor places are all that they appear to be. Divocred, scarred doctor mom has her own issues from her past, but that doesn't stop her from loving her teenage daughter as best as she can. Teenage daughter pushes the boundaries and limits, but still fiercely loves her mom. Outcast neighbor boy appears haunted, rejected, and pathetic, but does what he does for his own reasons. "Look beyond the surface" seems to be the enduring message. More sad than horror showing what human error and choices can lead to and the results people are forced to live with. I liked it and it will stay with me...

    Very Good

I am not a fan of scary movies so I really liked the fact that there were no gory scenes, it is very suspenseful and will leave you stunned at the end. I liked it VERY MUCH!

    It was good.

    by

I thought it was good. It was suspensful. It was really confusing at some parts. Most scary movies are like that. It was a good scary movie. The acting was good. It was good. Not all of it was scary. It wasnt one scary thing after another. That was good. I liked the plot. It was different.

    Don't go down this street

Boring, stupid, its a horror movie that has nothing horrible happen in it. I walked out. I couldn't take it. I haven't walked out of a movie in a such a long time. But this one is just a waste of time.

    Not worth seeing

The preview for this movie is better than the actual movie itself. I about fell asleep during it. Its not at all scary and not what you think its about either. Dont see it!

    disappointing

Not worth it. I expected something better. In my opinion, it sucked. It seemed like a cheap remake of many other psycho next door movies. It's a movie that should be on Lifetime, not theaters.

    Chilling tale!!

    by

If you love psychological thrillers with a twist, you will love this tale that starts out like every other scary movie with a new girl moving to the block. It soon changes...and you will find yourself questioning peoples' motives...great ending!! I jumped multiple times (great cinematography) and I screamed twice...be prepared to have your hairs stand on end!

House at the End of the Street - 4/5 Stars

House at the End of the Street is a horror-thriller film with an underlying love story. The movie itself was rather slow and fairly predictable or at least appeared that way right to end!

Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot both did well with their roles and seemed to have a natural chemistry, while Elisabeth Shue and Gil Bellows struggled.

I give this movie 4/5 stars and recommend it for ages 13 and up.

Twist To Storyline that was Cool

I found this movie to be entertaining not as scary as I thought it would be. I like the storyline though and is very suspenseful, the twist to it is something I did not expect which made the movie even better. The ending was great too leaving you like no way that's how it was?!

I got tricked in thinking it would be a good one because of the actors!

but oh no... this wasn't even as good as a stereotypical teenage thriller. The plot... what plot? it jumped all over the place, nothing tied together - one lady even fell asleep in the theater and got more attention for her snoring than the movie did - it was SO bad.

    Not even worth a rental!

A THRILL RIDE FROM BEGINNING TO END!!!

    by KDT

We went into this movie thinking it was gonna be another one of those horror movies that would scare the stuff out of us, but it was more of a thriller than anything which in our opinion made it work very well, this movie is very good, and very well done, it scared us at the right moments and had us in shock from a huge plot twist that we wouldn't have expected at all, it was a very intense, very scary , and very much of a thrill ride, this movie is not a must see but it definetly gets two thumbs up we give it an 8 and half or 9 out of 10!!!

    Horror?

    by

Horror? Hardly. We got a lot more laughs than scares out of this. Some of the best scary movies start with a trickling plot line but when the thrills and screams kick in they never stop. The only good scares I got were a spattering of shock factor screen flashes and loud noises. If you want a real scare, stick to something else!
