House at the end of the Street

While it had an interesting premise there were just too many plot holes in this movie. The mother is supposed to have been a teenage mom who married her musician boyfriend, but still had the time and money to become a doctor. After the murders Ryan was said to have lived in the house with an Aunt for five years. The same Aunt who he had been living with for the previous six years. Apparently no one in town ever saw or spoke with this women and no one thought it strange. There are plenty more.
Acting is ok since they had very little story to work with. My guess is if Hunger Games had not been a huge success this would have gone straight to DVD.

Just What I Wanted... Whatever Rotten Tomatoes

Regardless of the 11% given to this movie by rotten tomatoes, i gave it a shot.
If you're in to crime thrillers, then you'll enjoy this one. It's not the best thriller/horror film out there, but it got the job done. Also, i really enjoyed the music and film work.

    Great Thriller

    by Mia322

Go see this but keep in mind its a thriller. NOT a horror film. Its a bummer when your expecting horror. I was lucky to have read a review here explaining that. Great thriller, keeps your interest throughout.

    Nice Mix

A friend and I took our 14 yr old daughters expecting a cheesy horror movie. It wasn't! This movie has humor and mystery, more of a thriller than horror. Yes, you could say some of it was expected, but other parts were a surprise which kept it interesting.

My favorite part was actually something that shouldn't have been there....a bug on Ryan's shoulder as he's talking. Look for it!

    I thought it was good!

    Not What I expected

    by TomW91

I was expecting the movie to be more 'ghostly' rather than some kid with a mental disorder. The story line was creative, but not well written.

    Boring... Just boring

    by

Only reason i give this movie a no is because it was only decent the last 40 or so minutes maybe even less.. before that we get just the dullest teen type drama iv'e seen ever. Than all of a sudden it throws a twist near the end (and i like twists in movie) but honestly I did see this coming.. and the very end of the movie was just really? are parents that dumb? THe movie is just Lame and boring and a decent attempt at the end but fails overall.. they get a 2/5 for effort..

    Not What You Think

    by

This movie is more of a suspense thriller than it is a horror film. I thought the twist was interesting, but for the most part I'd say it's a tween movie. If I could do it again, I'd wait until it came out on redbox.

    Very Good

I am not a fan of scary movies so I really liked the fact that there were no gory scenes, it is very suspenseful and will leave you stunned at the end. I liked it VERY MUCH!

    Very Boring Beginning....But Gets Good

My husband & I almost walked out of the movie because the beginning was so slow and seemed to be the same plot of a bunch of movies we had already seen. I'm glad we didn't leave because there was a great twist and I really ended up enjoying the movie in the end. The beginning really lags, but then it gets better.

    Not what I expected

    by

This movie was not what I expected, but still worth seeing. More of a psychological thriller than a horror flick. A little slow, but not bad.

    PRETTY GOOD ONE

Although it had all the elements of a scary movie, there psychological aspect of the plot is what I think makes it a "GO". A very nice twist once you figure out what is going on and everything begins to make sense! Personally I LOVED it. Good scare and good plot without the unnecessary overdone blood scenes or any of that!

A Prepatory Movie for a Sequel

    by hdmoss

This was not at all what i expected. It really was not a thriller but a riddler. The ending was more or less a set up for a possible sequel will probably wont work either.

    Really slow and predictable

    by hknut

The previews were better than the movie. To review it without giving it away for those who want to see it, I will do my best. The story is slow, they spend almost the entire movie just setting relationships up, but there is no tension or anything to it. Just boring. The ending was predictable and I was glad it was over. My husband, who had a higher tolerance for slow and boring, thought the same thing I did. If you are looking for gore, this movie has none.

House at the End of the Street - go see it!

    by

Finally - a horror film with grit instead of gore. Great script, well casted - and the storyline kept me guessing. I'm not saying it is especially "unique" - it IS a horror film after all - but it does a good job of building suspense without having the heroine fall down a lot, say stupid things or forget how to barricade a door. The plot has a nice twist to it - and the whole thing holds together really well. I'd see it again!

    Horror?

    by

Horror? Hardly. We got a lot more laughs than scares out of this. Some of the best scary movies start with a trickling plot line but when the thrills and screams kick in they never stop. The only good scares I got were a spattering of shock factor screen flashes and loud noises. If you want a real scare, stick to something else!
