A SENSATIONAL FILM ABOUT A ZOO KEEPER'S SON SHIP-WRECKED IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN FOR 227 DAYS.

Eleven years ago I read and relished Yann Martel's irresistible, allegorical "Life of Pi"; many pivotal books gradually sink into the vast recesses of one's mind, titles fade, but in this instance Pi's journey sunk its literary teeth into a comfortable corner of my memory; took up permanent residence, and in gratitude to Ang Lee's profoundly beautiful, visual production, a substantive, realistic vibrancy emerges as the tale unfolds...

"Life of Pi" is a technological jewel: impeccable, magical cinematography (Claudio Miranda); 3-D intensely engaging, the viewer is embraced by nature's ferocity and enchantment. Underwater and celestial sequences, positively pregnant with the wizardry of man's imagination and skill...

    FIVE STARS!!!!!

    Life of Pi

What an amazing way to tell a story! The scenery, acting and cinematography alone are wonderful, but the movie's message is even better. So glad to see a movie of this caliber receive so much public accliam. Must See / Must Own!

A Delicious piece of cinematic Pi

This was a beautiful film, well acted and one of my favorite movies of the year. The story centers around Pi, a young man who is lost at sea after the ship he and his family are sinks on the way to Canada. The young man is pushed to his limits trying to survive the ordeal.

Suraj Sharma is charming as Pi and Ang Lee does an amazing job as director. This one will defintely be a blu ray buy for me once its released. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Visual Treat

The camera work in this movie is superb. The ocean scenes were magnificent! The script was sort of out there but the photography of the wildlife and ocean scenes was magnificent.

Loved the movie, the sentimental, the spiritual, the scenery, the CAT, the actor. A beautiful story. I will definitely buy a copy when it's out on video

Life of Pi - humourus and moving

    by

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, while I could see where the end may go and did go I still enjoyed the tears I shed and the smiles I shared. The special effects were awesome and the acting is outstanding. You feel as though you are with him on the sea feeling his loneliness and despair. I love the tiger and even though he's a beast you do feel he has a soul. Excellent movie, definitely a purchase when out in the stores. :)

    beautiful affects!

This movie was great to go see with the whole family. That's really hard to do these days. Sure, parents suffer through kid's movies all the time, but trying taking your college kid, your middle-schooler, and elementary school children all to the same movie! So rare to find! We all loved it. I cried a couple of times. The cinematography was amazing!

    Beauty and Substance

This movie as fantastical and beautiful as it was had a deeper more meaningful undertone that truly fueled the film. The directing, acting and music worked in perfect harmony to transport you on a true visual journey especially when in 3D you simply get lost in it. What is truly amazing for the viewer that hasn't read the book and has no idea what to expect other than visually stunning scenes; is a journey that is almost less about survival and more about the human visceral connection between everything in our universe both real and imagined, animal and non-living, logical and spiritual. If you're not left wondering in some way or in awe, you must not have seen the same movie as I did.

    Watched it twice

    by

One of the best movies I've seen. The ah-ha effect is building up slowly and the big AH-HAAA comes right at the end where you least expect it, and completes the whole story to one piece where everything makes sense.

There were a couple of scenes with cosmetic "imperfection", where the tiger didn't look as real as it should have but all in all they did an amazing job with the animation. Thru the whole movie you are convinced to be right there, by the boat, watching him struggle to survive and making sense out of everything that has happened (lost of his family, etc). The acting of all actors is top!

Ang Lee was able to capture me from beginning to the end. The story is actually so touching that you never look around yourself. Your eyes are glued to the screen from start to end. Humor is planted with care to the precise moment where you'd allow yourself to rest and laugh, then he returns gently back to the drama.

    This movie is perfection.

    Thank you

Still thinking about it the next day

Great movie. Makes you think throughout but really unravels at the end and has my wife and I still talking about it. Want to see it again knowing what we know now.

One of the greatest movie all time

This is the one great movie that you don't want to miss. The story was fascinating and the use of 3D technology was superb. You totally live with Pi through his incredible journey and can?t help gasping again and again. Highly recommend!

    Life of PI

    by MJWH

This is by far the best movie of the year! It's a must see for all ages. I went with my 21 year old daughter and husband and the three of us were blown away by it. The ads don't do it justice. The message is up lifting...not to mention the photography. It kept your attention the whole 2 hrs of the movie. We walked away feeling uplifted and happy. I'd like to see how they made this movie because it was exceptionally done....BRAVO!!!!!!

Spiritual and mystical with beautiful photography

    by robsees

It was a beautiful movie and certainly put life in perspective. The animal scenes were amazing as were both stories. You felt Pi's agonies and his joy and his humility. I don't think that it is a movie for young children.
