    A Most Amazing Life Journey

    by jzactor

Life of Pi is a wonderful film that is a visual feast, a captivatingly profound adventure, full of wonder, awe, deep-felt emotion, great acting and the most incredible story of a tiger I have ever seen. It is stunning, captivating, philosophical and religious in its own inimitable and beneficent way. There is something for everyone in this film. I has true universal appeal. It will make you experence a myriad of emotions and one that is very difficult to express in a film without being overly sentimental or ponderous. This is simply the best experience of the mystery and mystical nature of life ever expressed ecumencially on film. You will leave it thinking at a deep level and most especially grateful for the gift of your life! Excellent actors are directed with exactly the right genuine "pitch" of emotion and faith without being overly sentimentalized or over-wrought. I cannot imagine a person not being moved or inspired or made to think in some profound way by this film.

Great story, suspense! CGI was awesome as well as the special effectst
We did not see it in 3D, but you will probably enjoy it more with the colors and details.
The animals were life like. You felt for the the boy and his family, but also understood the animals

    Life of Pi--fabulous and profound

I read the book a few times a long time ago when I was much younger so I don't remember the details but the story stuck with me. The film is marvelous--it takes a difficult kind of mental book and converts it into images that are truly profound. Ang Lee has come through again and again--the man is a genius. Go see this movie it is an experience that stays with one.

    Cinemgraphic magic

When the book came out, I chose not to read it - but when the movie came out I was swayed by the reviews and the trailer. Life of Pi the Movie is visually rich, with a compelling story about survival and the human spirit. Which story we choose to believe says much about us, i think. Ultimately, I found the story disquieting and thought provoking - not necessarily bad things.

    Life of Pi

I read the book and I loved it. I always try to watch the movies based on books to compare the vision with the literature. Once again the literature wins out. Not that the movie was bad, it wasn't, it was actually pretty good, they got the main points and added some little things here and there. If you didn't read the book you may not have much interest in the story although it's a very good story and will touch your heart. Read the book and then go watch the movie or do it the other way around. Either way you'll enjoy this one.

    Very Good Movie!

    by

I was quite impressed with the acting -- particularly in light of the fact that the main actor was acting for the first time!

I also enjoyed the scenes in India as I had not realized what a beautiful country India can be.

Life of Pi: Did you say that Tiger was My Mother the Cannibal? What?

I am completely lost by this film. Boy talks to Canadian reporter, says his story will explain meaning of God: (a) He gets on a ship where Gerard Dapardieu is a racist food server; (b) Gets in shipwreck; (c) Gets in lifeboat; (d) Tiger and zebra and urangutan and hyena all hide under his lifeboat canvas and come out to eat each other while boy shouts "No! No!" (easy to translate); (e) Boy and tiger make friends, then float to an island with a million meercats, but island is carnivorous, so tiger and boy get back on lifeboat and float to Mexico; (f) Boy is interviewed in last 2 minutes of film by Japanese insurance investigators who say "Your story isn't true"; (g) Boy replies "Well, OK, would you like it better if I told you the tiger was my mother, and Gerard Depardieu was the hyena, and the zebra was the Chinese tourist, but they all ate each other and I alone survived?" Or was Gerard Depardieu the tiger, and boy's mother the zebra. Or maybe the Chinese tourist was Depardieu. What?

    Riveting and Stunning

    by slehan

Glad I didn't buy popcorn because the movie is so enthralling that I wouldn't have eaten any. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and is so beautiful to look at.

    Life of Pi

I liked this movie very much! The special effects were great .........make sure you see it in 3D and get the full effect. I don't think it is a movie for kids under 10. Some of the scenes are scarey and could be upsetting.

    awesome movie

I read the book several years ago and forgot most of it, but remembered the important part: that I thought it was one of the best books I ever read. And I love the movie. Ang Lee did a spectacular job of capturing the essense of the book. Look for this at the oscars.

    Life of Pi-My Opinion:

    by

I saw the new movie that came today, "Life of Pi". And overall, it was VERY good. 3 times during it, I was tearing up. At the end, the outcoming of the movie overall, turned out amazing and inspiring. It convinces you to have faith, hope, and belief in God and Jesus. The acting was great, the boy who plays Pi showed fear, courage, and gratitude within his character. Picture and quality was fantastic with amazing color. Recommended ages 8 and up.

    A thinking movie

When all is said and done, do you believe in God and miracles? Long movie, loved the message. Was it really a tiger? Hmmmmm, leaves you thinking. CLEAN! YAY!!!!!

A Feast for the Eyes and Nourishment for the Spirit

    by mvgr

I wish I had see Life of Pi in 3D. Even so, the cinematography was phenomenal! I found that Pi's suffering parallels the suffering of Job in the Bible. Also, Pi's rewards parallel Job's as well. I do caution against bringing young children to this film. I would set my youngest viewers at age 9 or 10.
