    The Life Of PI

I took my son to see the movie who is 9 years old. I thought it would be a little slow for him.
maybe a little hard for him to understand. But he loved the movie.

    Visually Beautiful!

We saw this one in 3D and it was worth it when the fly fish started hitting me in the face and the tiger's claws ripped my shirt. Both versions of the story are captivating, I hope you can appreciate the ending.

    The Life of Pi

    by Chillun

Probably the best screen adaptation of a novel I have seen in a long time. I was completely sucked in by the story and completely transfixed by the reveal. I was so drawn in by the story that there was a point where I actually thought to myself: "Oh, another weak script!" Only to realize that I had been fooled by the director and the script-- result AWESOME MOVIE!!! So awesome that I am unwilling to reveal any morsel of the plot!!

    Have fun watching this movie!!

    B~

A Delicious piece of cinematic Pi

This was a beautiful film, well acted and one of my favorite movies of the year. The story centers around Pi, a young man who is lost at sea after the ship he and his family are sinks on the way to Canada. The young man is pushed to his limits trying to survive the ordeal.

Suraj Sharma is charming as Pi and Ang Lee does an amazing job as director. This one will defintely be a blu ray buy for me once its released. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Life of Pi - humourus and moving

    by

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, while I could see where the end may go and did go I still enjoyed the tears I shed and the smiles I shared. The special effects were awesome and the acting is outstanding. You feel as though you are with him on the sea feeling his loneliness and despair. I love the tiger and even though he's a beast you do feel he has a soul. Excellent movie, definitely a purchase when out in the stores. :)

    lLife of Pi

A strong movie in many ways:cinematography, acting, animation and especially the food for thought. I loved the book and the movie was true to the story and brought it to life. It is not a movie for those who want only fluffy entertainment because it makes you think about life.

    Thoughtful and Thoughtful

I enjoyed this movie because it wasn't straightforward. And, if you don't get the hidden meaning during the movie, the Pi character explains it at the end. Beautifully shot, exquisite color, and lots of tense moments. Pi had a mountain to climb in his young life, as many of us do as well, and we always wonder how we will perform when extreme testing comes our way. Young Pi paid a dear price, due to the sheer hardness of his testing. It made me re-think how important it is to be ready when hard times come. The secret is to be able to think in the face of sheer terror--far easier said than done.

    A Life of Magic

Life of Pi is a visual feast. It should be an Oscar contender for cinematography. The story within a story is a bit of a disappointment as it takes away much suspense. However, there are wonderful moments that can be savored. One poignant scene made me cry; it was so incredibly touching without being maudlin. An overall gorgeous movie. I'll see it again.

    Life of Pi

I loved this film. It was beautifully acted, with superb cinematography and directing. I think I enjoyed it more because I had read the book, but I've talked to others who haven't read the book and still loved the film. I recommend it to anyone who loves quality movies with interesting and inspiring stories but without lots of violence (except for a few animal scenes), sex and terrible language.

    Life of Pi

Loved the movie, the sentimental, the spiritual, the scenery, the CAT, the actor. A beautiful story. I will definitely buy a copy when it's out on video

    Life of PI

Cinematography and visuals were wonderful. Great example of patience, understanding, courage, and determination. Location and effects were great. Young kids no, but teens need to think about this kind of challenge and could they do it. Too many today would give up, not enough instant rewards and gratification. Great message and story here.

If you loved the book, you will not be disappointed.

    by

If there is a wrong note or a misstep in this film, I certainly did not notice it. The script kept true to the book, while the special effects and cinematography brought this incredible story to life with stunning beauty, which is no small feat given the nature of the story. Fantastical elements run seamlessly along side the real, but it is the creation of the tiger is perhaps one of the greatest achievements in film to date. It is impossible to tell when the tiger on screen is an actual tiger or a digitally-created image.

Given the artistic talents of the special effects team, this movie could have felt like one long showcase of digital images, but there is somehow a beautiful simplicity to the film. Everything serves to tell the story. The result is a completely satisfying movie experience. I would recommend seeing this one on the big screen in order to fully immerse yourself in the wonder of the world created by Ang Lee.

Beautifully done - this is a very rare filim in that it is as unique as it is interesting. Very refreshing to see something new and fresh at the cinema. The scenery is fabulous!
