    It just wasn't a good movie

    I love all the actors in this but the story line just couldn't make this movie entertaining. It was drawn out for too long and the chemistry was better with George and his flings than who was supposed to be the love of his life. Wait for it to come on tv in a few years so they can cut out the really boring parts.

    not impressed

    Although I somewhat enjoyed seeing this movie, it is one I would have rather rented then wasted money on at the theater. Gerard Butler didn't even make it worth my time. I'm not a fan.

    A wonderful, charming and funny movie filled with pathos and, a the same time, with laughter. It is good, clean fun for the whole family and best of all it has a really happy ending for all.

    Playing For Keeps

    A heart-warming story of a man who grows up right under his son's nose. Famous Scottish soccer player, George Dryer, is broke after his career takes a downturn. He returns to the States to be a father to his 10 year old son who he has parented in a few years. His ex is getting ready to remarry and he makes very good impressions on the moms and dads at his son's soccer practice; so much so that he becomes the coach.

    Without spoiling the ending, you will enjoy a view of a father and son relationship blossoming.

    Gerard Butler is his usual charming and handsome self and woman and men both will drool of his good looks and physique.

    Playing For Keeps, more like Lose All Faith in Gerard Butler Movies

    Grrr... Not again. Gerard, what happened to you?? You used to pick good movies & play great characters. You need a new agent. The only reason I gave this movie a 3 and not a 1 is because the actors were OK. The writing sucked, the plot was played out & it was all extremely typical and predictable. The characters were not lovable & a romantic comedy like this, with a beefcake like Gerard, ya gotta pine to the ladies! I gave no sympathy to his part, since he couldn't keep his wang in his pants for 2 seconds, even though he claimed to be trying to get "the Love of His Life" back. Yeah, yeah.. the ladies threw themselves at him (understandably) but he could have gained more respect & compassion if he could have at least found a funny way to get out of the situations without boning every lady in town. Gross. Not attractive at all. I used to have a girl-boner for him, but was VERY happy to go home to with MY MAN at the end. No Gerard fantasies for me tonight. Dennis Quaid was funny.

    Great Movie to watch in your free-time!

    Gerard Butler does a great job in this movie! The doesn't have any incredible storyline but its simplicity makes it fun to watch. This is the best showcase for Gerard Butler's charm. Here he acts in a role that represents him a lot in his real life (I am kind of jealous :D).

    Missed the goal

    This movie could have been really funny but definitely missed the goal. Gerard Butler makes a good retired soccer player and Catherine & Uma looked good. I am not sure if they could have made Jessica Biel look any more plan in this movie. But she still shined through.

    Playing for Keeps - no rating

    Unfortunately the theater it was playing in was shut down for repairs and wasn't aware of this until I got there, so I didn't get to see the movie. Requested a refund but they told me I had to go through Fandango and it appears you don't refund tickets, so my experience was not a positive one.

    Hated it!

    This movie was probably one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. My family and I walked out. All it portrayed was sex and money. In the previews, it looked like a sweet, good themed movie, it was NOT like this at all! I do not recommend it for anyone! I was truly very disappointed!
