    Wonderfully Entertaining

In a world where movies cost $13.00 (though I cheaped out for matinee @ $10.00) it is nice to leave a movie satisfied and well fed, almost like after a holiday meal. If you scan the reviews you will only see one "NO" from an obviously angry gal who missed the point. Spike Lee also missed it. This film did a great job of dealing with the subject of slavery and showed the abhorrent working conditions of the slaves and the nauseating violence and ignorance of a time that is thankfully LONG GONE. Great performances all around and wonderful cameos to boot. There is an unfortunate appearance of the Director who is a TERRIBLE actor but, it's brief and doesn't really hurt the film. GO NOW, RUN DON'T WALK. Enjoy a well made and satisfying cinematic meal.

    DJANGO UNCHAINED

I saw Django last night and one can never underestimate the talent of Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, both whose performance is worth an Emmy nod. That said?Jamie Foxx was good, but this was an easy paycheck for him. The bar for Jamie has been raised after RAY and Django performance did not raise it high enough for him. Django was birth on the heels of Lincoln, which was phenomenal. Both movies need to be seen as a double feature. Django, first, then Lincoln for historical and teaching purposes for our youth so they can see how far we as AA have come and the significance of President Barack H. Obama. The cinematography was beautiful; I want to visit Candieland. The scenes that play out in AA history to this day from slavery were: the fighting and killing of one another for sport; the "hole" were run away slaves were place is prevalent in our prisons, but the love that a black man has for his black woman and how far he will go to rescue her was PRICELESS. BRAVO QUENTIN! BRAVO!

    Quintinesque

Good directing and overall picture. I did not feel this movie was better than Inglorious. I felt that it needed a bit more character development for those other than the main character. Regardless, I really enjoyed the movie

    Django Unchained

Superbly acted film. Samuel Jackson and Leonardo Di Caprio are outstanding in supporting roles, while all the other principals turn in very good performances as well. Along with the good acting, the absorbing plot, the cinematography, the cleverly interspersed humorous moments, and the references to some movie classics all add up to a remarkable achievement attributable to the great talent of Quentin Tarantino.

    One of Tarentino's best films

    by

this was a very fun and enjoyable movie. One that could easily be Tarentino's best. From the opening credits all the through it is a great watch. All the actors involved did an excellent job. I really cannot recommend this movie enough

    AWESOME!!!!!!!

    by

I liked the movie, it was action packed!!!!! All of the actors did a great job and I recommend this movie (it is a little bloody so if you have a weak stomach beware). I would not recommend this movie for kids under the age of 13 due to the violence. I would definitely see this movie again. i would also recommend that if you plan to see it that you should pre purchase your tickets it will save you a lot of time (as the lines were very long we I went on Christmas Day). Enjoy the movie and I hope this helped you want to see the movie.

    Quentin Tarantino at his best

    by jard1

This movie absolutely deserved an Oscar nomination! Well acted. Well directed. Yes, a gore fest but so was Inglorious Bastards and that movie rocked! If you don't mind blood (lots and lots of blood) and just enjoy an entertaining movie where the good guy wins, go see this movie.

    Django

Horribly bloody and uneasy content, however, a brief but good dipiction of the terrible slave trade and love conquering all. Do NOT let your children see this. The N word is used an aweful lot.

    Tarantino has outdone himself

The acting is beyond reproach! Every character is portrayed superbly. You get an up close and personal view of what the south and slavery was really like. As much as i despise the use of the "N" word by any race, seeing this movie should be a lesson for all men to erase it from their vocabulary. Well done...

    LOL

This was a good movie. Best love story I have seen in a while. I loved the sound track. Just like the movie 'Office Space', the soundtrack didn't match the movie, but it was AWSOME!!!

    Save your money!!

    by

I saw Django over the weekend (not by choice I might add!) and it was possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was so bad, I contemplated camping out in the ladies room to avoid having to go back to my seat!

I'm not a Quentin Tarantino fan to begin with as I think his films are much too over the top / shock value/ mish-mash genre for my liking, and this was certainly no different. Historically inaccurate, campy, overuse of the "N" word, and just generally mindless.

Jaime Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio are such talented actors and completely wasted in this film. I'm guessing they weren't getting very many offers for roles and decided to make a quick buck by being in a QT flick.

If you can get over the N word its a good movie with action, and funny bits. If you have wrinkles all over your face, you need to learn to laugh a little bit. And this should make you.

Review of the movie Django Unchained

Overall the movie was entertaining, action packed, contained great actors and actresses and was well put together.

But I will have to side with Spike Lee this time, when he said "American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them."

This movie was like the Scary movie rendition of the movie and book Roots. Even though it was entertaining, it was inappropriate. I believe that the only reason why no one is making a fuss, is because there are actors and actresses in it that most people as a whole and African-American people respect.

I almost found myself laughing and thinking "should I really be laughing at this?"

It is a good movie, entertaining but if you are black it is hard to separate the parody made of the reality of roots. I don't see anyone making a parody of the holocaust. I'm just saying.
