    Django

    by jusgold

This was a movie that surprised me! I expected action, but this had drama and even more unexpectedly comedy! I really enjoyed Django! The acting was exceptional!

    Django

    by

This was one of the worst movies if not the worst movie that I have ever seen. It appeared to be trying to make light and provide humor towards slavery. I absolutely hated it and got so sick of the word"N_____" being used. The best part of the movie is when Tarantino was blown up, I only wish that Jamie Foxx had gone with him. Tarantino did not fit in the movie and for once should have left himself out although in my opinion this movie should never have been made. Lets make a movie that makes light and finds humorous the Holocaust. Everyone associated with this movie should be ashamed of themselves. This movie reveals such disrespect to the people who were slaves and the tremendous humiliation and challenges that they suffered. Shame on all of you involved.

    Quentin never disappoints

    by D'Mo

This was a great one. He presents an interesting perspective on the "actualities" of slavery in the period and then gives you the classic revenge with lots of blood. A lot of laughs in there too. Really well done!

    Great Movie! Tarantino Rocks Again!

Amazing cast, great action, plenty of comedy, some violence but it's all worked into the plot. If you've ever liked a western, it's a must see; there are plenty of references to classic western movies and actors woven into the script, costuming, and cinematography. Try to see it on a movie theater screen while you can, it's visually stunning as well. Hope you have as much fun as I did, it's the kind of movie that reminded me of why I love going to the movies:)

    Django Unchained

Taratino gave us a great movie and cast of actors. Not for children. My husband and I ended up discussing for hours the writing due to our differences of opinion. The slave trade, and slavery in general. Fox is fantastic, Caprio could have fooled me cause he was the perfect slave owner. The modern music melded with this western and I can't wait to see it again. I love happy endings.........

    Save your money!!

    by

I saw Django over the weekend (not by choice I might add!) and it was possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was so bad, I contemplated camping out in the ladies room to avoid having to go back to my seat!

I'm not a Quentin Tarantino fan to begin with as I think his films are much too over the top / shock value/ mish-mash genre for my liking, and this was certainly no different. Historically inaccurate, campy, overuse of the "N" word, and just generally mindless.

Jaime Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio are such talented actors and completely wasted in this film. I'm guessing they weren't getting very many offers for roles and decided to make a quick buck by being in a QT flick.

Unchain Your Wallet and See Django Unchained

Remarkable movie from start to finish in true Tarantino style. Jamie Foxx is wonderful, as usual, but the real treat in this film is Christopher Waltz, who is nothing short of astonishing.

You've heard the saying about great actors, "I'd watch her/him read the phone book"? Well, I'd watch Christopher Waltz read the phone book. He's that amazing. The performance is a remarkable follow up to his cold, cruel Nazi in "Inglorious Basterds." This guy gives Brando and Olivier a real run for their money.

    Django Fiction

"Djano" means a fun movie, gotta see it once.
"Pulp Fiction," on the other hand, never gets old even though one can view it 100's of times. I noted a number of the audience who talked about the humor in "Django," which is funny and filled with great moments. However In nearly every scene of "Pulp Fiction" there was a take-away moment, a key line one could use later; funnier, too.
I rate his movies in order (Directed and/or wrote) 1. Pulp 2. True Romance 3. Reservoir Dogs 4. From Dusk to Dawn 5. All the rest tie at No. 5
Understand, of course, that No. 5 on this list will be floors above most movies, so recognize this is a very high bar by the most creative of people.

    Wow

I love Quentin but he went a bit too far on this one; story line is in his normal fashion twists and turns etc. What really got me was the constant use of the N word; I know that this is a period movie but damn 110 times in less than 3 hours is a bit much even for me. FYI I grew up in Brooklyn listening to Biggie and attended public school and I don't think I have ever heard the N word that often in such a short period of time.

Now as far as the movie goes its OK not all that great and I would honestly say wait for the dvd release.

I thought the script was based on an immensely negative streotype of Southerners that was unfair and historically inaccurate. Also, the use of the "N" word hundreds of times was not believable.

There was some humor, but basically the movie was a disappointment.

    GREAT MOVIE!!!

This movie isn't for the easily offended. I hear a lot of complaints of the use of the N word, especially from African Americans. No complaints about the rap artist that still use the N word in their music today though. However, people easily forget the time frame at which the story takes place; two years before the Civil War. Its fitting.

If you can focus on the time frame the movie was depicted to be in, you can enjoy a great film. It was action packed, it was funny, it kept you on the edge of your seats at certain points, it made your stomach turn, it made you appreciate your loved one. It was freaking great! I'd definitely see it again.

By the way, Samuel L. Jackson was a complete depiction of Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks. Hilarious! Tarantino did a great job.

I found out this movie is a remake from a 1966 film called "Django". There was a sequel called " Django 2: Il Grande Ritorno (Django Strikes Again)". I hope Tarantino remakes the sequel as well.

Classic Quentin Tarantino, very entertaining. The cast was excellent and as always handling their craft with excellence.

What can one say about Mr. Foxx? EXCELLENT! BRAVO!
I really liked Dr. Schultz bravado.

Samuel L. Jackson has Mastered his craft like no other.

    Q.T. Does not disappoint!

    by

The cinematography was wonderful. The close ups show pure motion. Jamie Foxx played his character from downtrodden slave to bounty hunter excellently showing all the emotions in between. Christophe Walz has, once again, proved to be my hero. I am sorry he dad to take a bullet. He should be commended for giving up his hip in the making of this film. He tougher it out on a horse in several scenes.

    Go see this movie.

    Good....but LONG

Let me preface by saying that although I absolutely do NOT watch a horror movie, I have a somewhat high tolerance for violence, gore, and offense. If you don't, this movie (or any Quentin Tarantino movie) is probably not for you.

This movie is *noticeably* long. There are some parts that should have been cut that don't increase the awesome at all, and in fact, bring it down. Around the middle of the movie, things go off a bit. Still good, but not nearly as solid and awesome as the first hour. QT - you could have let some of that go.

Overall, I enjoyed it as much as any movie in the genre that I can't get enough of. Blazing Saddles, Machete, Black Dynomite, etc. If that's your cup of tea...or shot of whiskey...go for it.
