    Mind Blower!

This movie is certainly a mind blower! I came in with high expectations only to have them blown out of the water. Django is quite an interesting character. Samuel Jackson does a awesome job with his part too!

    Django Unchained

I enjoyed this movie very graphic with the killing scenes not very informative as far as African history its only focuses on particulars and not the actual depth of the treatment I appreciated the different scenarios that the director put jaime Fox in giving him a positive image to show the viewers. This movie is not for young kids Its more like an action movie but it has the context of slavery embedded with a "freeman's" mentality. Leonardo di Caprio was amazing in this movie he was very convincing in his role, but Samuel Jackson took the cake with his role a real life "hater". haha go see it it's long but you will enjoy it

    Entertaining and Engulfing

    by

While DiCaprio was definitely amazing in this film, I really couldn't find an actor who wasn't amazing whether they were lead, supporting or minor. Christoph Waltz was simply brilliant and Jamie Foxx impressed me in this movie. I found myself smiling leaving the theatre and even for a few hours afterward just thinking about it. Yes, it was a little too gory in one scene for this viewer, but the drama mixed with humor was excellent. I really, really was surprised by how much I loved this film.

    Django Unchained

This movie is like all of the other Tarantino movies-a hybrid of violence and humor. The story line is simple but the violence keeps you attentive to the movie for the 2hrs plus. There is no great meaning in this movie -just raw entertainment.

    One More Time!

I eagerly waited for this movie to come out in theaters this Chistmas and it was worth it. I found it stranges that most of my friends had not heard of it, but my husband and I realized we had only seen trailers for the movies while in the theater. Hey... it's Quentin Tarantino... he doesn't need advertising.

Jaimie Foxx was AMAZING, as always. And Leonardo was in character so well, I had to remind myself that it was the pure, loving Leonardo that we typically see in all the love stories.

The movie was disturbing and hilarious at the same time. As an African-American, it is always hard to swallow the details of slavery and the barbaric history behind it. BUT THIS IS NO HISTORY LESSON ... it was a movie. It was a damn funny one at that. When Samuel Jackson's character speaks his first line, you will roll off your seat onto the floor laughing... I promise.

Hats off to Quentin for pulling it together to mesh so wonderfully. I am going to see it again!

    Tarantino and Company are Back.

I saw Django Unchained on Christmas afternoon and was highly impressed and entertained. Jamie Fox and Christopher Waltz are the new Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid. Robert Richardson made me understand why one still shoots with film and not binary numbers. The cinematography is glorious. Quentin Tarantino is at the top of his game. I have not always been the biggest fan but I am today. I saw it in a full theater with half of the crowd black and the rest white and the film got a resounding round of applause. Don't listen to Spike Lee and read what others say. Go make up your own mind.

A Tongue and Cheek Blood Bath!

Exposes the criminality of slavery at it's ugliest but, oddly, it never seems to take itself seriously. Campy songs, a sound track from other westerns, explodding bodies and an over the top cameo by the director add to the conundrum. The rest of the acting is very good. Ok, worth a shot but, a little more focus please.

    I Loved hating the !

So WoW ! Though the movie was realistic and ficticious, it held my interest, cause I loved hating the massa's and the (hurters of n- - - -'s), and that it wasn't deluged with scenes of slaves being beaten. I can't think of any other movie where we (blacks) was at least afforded the feeling of total satisfaction in seeing the (unrealistic) scenes where Django did some absolutely unheard of retaliative head turning things to the whites. It was an (excusable reverse psychology type of hipe movie) that made us feel good with a ("NOW TAKE DAT/DAS WHATCHA GIT") attitude. Ha Ha Ha, we all know that never would have happened back then. QT knew what he was doing when he decided to the make a (FEEL GOOD MOVIE FOR BLACKS). hE CERTAINLY MADE SOME OF HIS FOLKS MAD AS HELL !!!

    Django

    by NukeC15

The weirdest western I've ever seen, some humour and a lot of unnecessary violence. Very good acting but I had a headache when I left the theatre. Definetly not for kids. Would advise to wait until it comes out on DVD.

    Tolerated Tantarino

    by

I probably wouldn't have chosen to see this movie myself. However 6 of us went, one of whom is the stunt-man for Don Johnson when he takes that bad-*** tumble off his horse. (Great job Jason Ament!!) I usually experience sensory over-load when it comes to Tarantino movies, but found I was able to enjoy the story-line, acting, and humor more over the violence.

Jamie Foxx doesn't disappoint and plays an excellent lead who's character evolves with the story line, and Christoph Waltz' wit is most entertaining. Leo and Samuel have phenomenal near-villainous performances as expected.

Lots of good vs. bad and a mix of what/who wins. Recommend this movie even for the Tarantino squeamish.

This movie was sooo violent over 100 people get blown away with major blood flying. I wanted to leave after the first 15 minutes. This is not for ladies and ESPECIALLY NOT FOR CHILDREN. I wish I could of got my money back. VIOLENCE BREADS VIOLENCE.

    Tarantino at his best

    by

Both Christopher Waltz and Jamie Foxx were amazing! This is a multilayered, thoroughly engaging movie. I think it's one of the movies that I could see again and again and always find something new to discover.

    Worth checking out Django

    by

Great performances and interesting good v. evil story, especially for aficionados of spaghetti westerns but, as usual with Quentin, unusual cameos and over the top violence..

Great Actors with a good script and too much blood

it actually became unbelievable. I liked the story line, Jamie Fox and company pulled it off well. But after the 4th or 5th multiple blood splatter, I thought is was overdone.
