    Django Unchained

It keeps you pinned to your seat from the moment it begins. The story and acting are superb by the outstanding cast. Yes, t is very violent so watch out for this. Glad we picked this one to see rather than wait for it to be released on DVD.

    Django "Holy @%$&"

Make no mistake about it this is a Quintan Teratino movie. If you have never seen a QT Movie (i.e. Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Reservoir Dogs...etc) prepare yourself. I do not suggest bringing any children under the age of 18y/o. Why would you though? It's a QT movie. Did I mention, THIS IS A QT MOVIE!!!

Cringe-worthy but a lot of fun!

Trademark Tarantino! Loved the blood and guts, and dialogue was well written. Hearing the N word so many times was cringe-worthy, but I'm sure in the 1800s it was used as frequent, or more! Torture scenes were difficult to watch, but showed the inhumanity of the time, and allowed for the reasoning behind the slaughter of all those white folk! The film was long, but well paced. The only scene which didn't belong was the Tarantino escape scene! While it was fun to see Quentin, he needs to stick to producing, and directing, as his acting is atrocious! I would definitely recommend this film, but not for children under 17, even with adult supervision..

I really wanted to like it...

    by

After the 2 hour mark, the movie really begins to pander. It really could've been great, but the editing must have just taken the night off. There were at least 5-6 scenes that had NOTHING to do with the movie ultimately took away from the forward progress of the storyline.

Great film-making and definitely entertaining... but that was ridiculously too long.

    Django Off The Chain

    by AYHJA

This is one of those films that has everything you could want. It is technically sound, has a great cast. It is well paced for a long film. The acting is fantastic, the characters are well done. You'll have every emotion on the human scale hit while watching this film. You'll be angry, you'll laugh, you'll want to cry, you'll cheer. Just a fantastic film. Ignore any criticisms of this movie, you deserve to see for yourself.

    Best Picture of the year!!!!!

The picture was done so well, included so much true history on slavery in this country, and the attitudes of slave owners and their slaves in which they owned and killed. There was so much to laugh about now which was not funny when it was happening, It was a true picture of the thoughts and actions of slaves, especially the part played by Sam Jackson. Some people expressed their dislike after the movie, but they are not aware of the history of slavery which was truly depicted, and have no reason to be ashamed of what was, but should strive to educate themselves and to share true knowledge of slavery with others. They should be ensure it does not happen again, and be sure that they don't enslave another.

All acting was great and Jamie Fox and Same Jackson were superb!!! Because of the language, ages 13 and above only should see it. If you don't mind exposing your child to a large amount of vulgar language from Sam Jackson, than ages 9 and over can learn a history lesson.

Mel Brooks has to envy this movie

This is a modern day Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks has to be jealous that he could not push the envelope as Tarrantino did with Django Unchained. This movie will last the ages. If you go to a Quentin Tarrantino movie and are shocked at the racial slurs and languange well then that's like expecting to go to a Jewish Deli and order a pulled Pork sandwich. It's Good vs. Evil and the movie does expose some of the brutality that did exist in the late 1850's in regards to slavery. It was a reality that this country had to overcome. A must see movie. The acting is great but the writing is over the top.

Unchain Your Wallet and See Django Unchained

Remarkable movie from start to finish in true Tarantino style. Jamie Foxx is wonderful, as usual, but the real treat in this film is Christopher Waltz, who is nothing short of astonishing.

You've heard the saying about great actors, "I'd watch her/him read the phone book"? Well, I'd watch Christopher Waltz read the phone book. He's that amazing. The performance is a remarkable follow up to his cold, cruel Nazi in "Inglorious Basterds." This guy gives Brando and Olivier a real run for their money.

    interesting

Quentin is never boring, always interesting and quirky. This movie was no different. Harsh topic and very violent. But very well done and overacted. that was the point. Everything bigger, everything weirder, everything over the top.

    Loved it!

Django Unchained was another great QT flick. I love a great story, especially one where the black man is the hero AND saves his woman in the end. I think Quentin T. was a black man in one of his past lives, along with Robert Deniro and Peter Jackson. I love these guys because they are smart enough to know that our stories deserve to be told as well. Even with the resistance of the Hollywood production companies these directors and actors put out movies like Red Tails and Django Unchained where we can see ourselves on screen as real men and women instead of drug-dealers and exotic dancers.

    Good but not Amazing

    by

It was funny, dramatic, heartbreaking, and a little scary and gruesome. It's only the second Quentin Tarantino movie I've seen but it follows his style. That said, I don't think it's an Oscar contender. It wasn't amazing. Leo was only in it for an hour of the movie, the real star was Christoph Waltz. I found myself checking the time on my phone throughout - it was almost 3 hours! Good but tedious at points.

Reminds you of an up-to-date version of Blazing Saddles

My husband and I went to see the movie and for one it was hard to find a seat because it was packed with people. I liked the movie and my husband did not. This movie is very border line in allot of areas. It was funny to me in allot of ways and you find yourself saying "WOW" allot. This movie reminds me of when the movie Blazing Saddles came out. This just seems like the more up-to-date version with more twist and turns. I would not recommend take younger kids to see the movie. The acting was very good. All I can say is allot of surprises.

    AWESOME - All around!!!

This is a great movie. I appreciated the superb acting from veteran artists. Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Leonardo DiCaprio were Oscar worthy! Kudos to Quentin Tarantino for an excellent and entertaining movie. I will go back and see it several times and will buy it when it comes out on DVD!
