    Bloody, gory but good

    by jpc019

It was far gorier than Inglorious Bastards, and didn't have as many funny/humorous moments, but it was good, riveting and searing in its portrayal of the pain and anguish of slavery... I do recommend seeing, but be prepared for lots and lots of blood.

    Brilliantly Violent! Classic Tarantino!

    by

I enjoyed it so much I saw it twice! The story was great! It was a good mix of violence and comedy in certain places. I definitely recommend this movie. The actors were brilliant. Everyone played their parts quite convincingly.

    Django Unchained

It was very watchable. It was long overdue as a depiction of the brutality of slavery and of a black man being the protagonist. Will it be screened in Mississippi.?

    Great - As expected

    by screpea

Tarratino, what else needs to be said. Inglorious Bastards in slavery era. Raw, disturbing, gruesome, funny at points, the cast Jamie Foxx Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz - super. Samuel L. Jackson great. Kerry Washington minor role screaming and such.

    Django

I thought it was a exciting movie. It kept you looking for more. U thought Jamie Foxx was very good. I think it its a feel good movie. Even though some might take offense to some of the words but it is a reality these days.

    It's a Go.

    by

It's definitely a Quentin Tarantino film. At first, I really was iffy about spending the money to see it. However, it was actually quite entertaining. Deals with slavery and contains the usual Tarantino blood and guts along with graphic torture scenes. If you like Tarantino's work, you will enjoy this movie. Not only does this film deal with dramatic situations during a difficult time period, Tarantino adds laughter. In my opinion, all main characters (Foxx, Waltz, and DiCaprio) all do a great job in playing their parts. Especially Samuel L. Jackson, he played a good antagonist; not one that you would expect. Django is definitely not suitable for children at any age. Slavery. Revenge. Partnership. Love. All in all....was a great movie. Must go.

    Classic

A very good ensemble of cast that delivered an unforgettable movie. Tarantino did not fail to disappoint movie goers. The film is filled with excitement and comedy. Christoph and Leo gave a remarkable portrayal of their roles. Truly, award worthy. And Leo proved that there's no small role for a good actor.

    Django Unchained

Superbly acted film. Samuel Jackson and Leonardo Di Caprio are outstanding in supporting roles, while all the other principals turn in very good performances as well. Along with the good acting, the absorbing plot, the cinematography, the cleverly interspersed humorous moments, and the references to some movie classics all add up to a remarkable achievement attributable to the great talent of Quentin Tarantino.

    Perhaps the perfect Western

    by

Silverado, Shane, any Clint Eastwood movie, The Shootist....This movie really tops them all. It has all the classic elements of a Western, put together by a director in complete control of what he wants and how he wants it. Yes, it's not PC, and certainly the timing of the release is problematic, but this is a perfect escape, wonderfully well stylized, having a similar rhythm as Pulp Fiction.

    just plain excellent!!!

I loved this movie so much, I saw it twice already. As I learned in his other movies, Tarantino's portrayal of over-the-top violence and blood shed is so over-the-top that it stops being realistic or disgusting. Christopher Waltz, as always, is perfect in his part. Jamie Foxx is just outstanding. Leonardo DiCaprio must have had a ton of fun playing the Southern Plantation owner ("Candy land"-who but Tarantino would think of that?). There was some fine and inconguous humor, but the movie portrays the violence, abuse and inhumanity of slavery in a realistic and terrifying way.

    Fantastic... Tarantino delivers!

    by

This is nothing short of a fantastic movie! There is a good amount of blood in a few scenes, but typical Quentin... gotta have it! Everybody performed masterfully. The music was perfect. The filmography was retro and excellent. I loved this movie!

If you can get over the N word its a good movie with action, and funny bits. If you have wrinkles all over your face, you need to learn to laugh a little bit. And this should make you.

    It's awesome, are you surprised?

Quentin stands out from the crowd even more with Django. I won't comment on the violence becasuse you know it will be there, it's done effectively and for a reason, and it's done in a style that makes it somewhat cartoonish and easier to digest.

I wont comment on the acting becuase everyone is excellent, as expected, and there are some great casting choices like Don Johnson who do a great job. Same for scenery, editing, writing, cinemetography etc. it's Quentin and its worth the time and money at twice the price.

I will comment on the length. It was as long as it needed to be to tell the story the way Quentin wanted it told. It is therefore the ideal length and it seems like an hour when you are there. It flows so well and holds your interest, lenght is never an issue.

I will also comment on the most striking aspect of the movie, and that is slavery. I found this the hardest thing to deal with, from the n-word all the way to the abuse and hopelessness. It sucked.

    DJango Is My Name!

Totally awesome! I don't like anything associated with racism or slavery but because of the wonderful actors/actresses I like so much, I went. I am so glad that I did. It was a great investment and worthy of my time to see Quinten's work so dramatically correct on the screen and the retaliation Jamie executed so well. Now Leonardo, I ain't mad at you but wow! And Samuel, Samuel, Samuel. Jamie took care of your kind iin the end (yes!). I wish there were more loyal and dedicated men willing to withstand, honor and protect to get his woman. Oh Kerry Washington! You Go Girl!
Jamie Foxx you're the man. You made me want to propose to you (lmao).
