    Great 'Raw/Real' Movie!!

I truly enjoyed every aspect presented in this move. The story, the acting, the choices made as a director and the music! May not be for everyone. Yet, those who appreciate this kind of movie or a real fan, it is Outstanding.

I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but I was completely mesmerized by every second of it. All acting is phenomenal & I would see it again.

    Great Movie

    by

Gory but not Tarantino's goriest for sure. If you like he other movies you will love this. If you don't, you might still like this one. I went with others who hated Tarantino but couldn't help liking this or at least parts of it.

    5 Stars for Django

Prior to walking into the movie theater, I wasn't sure of what to expect. I thought of the usual Quentin Tarantino film: blood, gore, and plenty of giggles. However, Django goes way beyond the usual Tarantino film. I found myself immersed into this movie. Jamie Foxx's performance was absolutely stunning. Leonardo DiCaprio's character is much different than his usual role and he really shines throughout the end of the film. The rest of the cast deserve to take a bow for their outstanding roles as well. The gore was so over-the-top and ridiculous that the whole theater was shocked in the most positive way! If you're thinking twice about seeing Django, stop thinking and just go see it. You will not be let down! Tarantino deserves 5+ stars!

"Must Go," if 16 or over

A quick, utterly brutal Tarantino 2:45 hours! Samuel Jackson's a scene stealer... just awesome as an evil House Slave. It's a stroke of brilliance to form the story around the partnership of a German Bounty Hunter teamed with a former Slave. While German's were obviously racists when it came to Jews, it's a historical fact they've always been relatively colorblind (as most Europeans). This movie is absolutely one of the Best of 2012. It should be a serious contender for a slew of awards, including Best Actor (again for Foxx) and Best Supporting for DiCaprio as a Plantation Owner. One of the films most intriguing scenes is the up close and personal exchange between them.... Foxx, all black magnifiscense on a a hand-carved saddle, well "heeled" with designer duds looking down at DiCaprio whose hands are upon Foxx's horse looking up at the towering Freeman.......as a Runaway is torn limb from limb... entirely award worthy.

    Brilliant! Gut-Wrenching! Epic!

    by mrbryan

This film reminded me of the grand Leone westerns, beautiful and coarse and stunning. The plot... who cares about the plot, really? It's a fine plot, of love and revenge and murder and lots and lots of blood. The really incredible thing about this movie was its brutal depiction of slavery and the evil institution that it was.

    Simply put...Amazing!

Quentin has done it again. This movie was one of the best movies of 2012. Yes it has a few touchy subjects. But 1. You have to remember...IT'S A MOVIE! 2. People do not like to hear the truth, so you will hear many complaints. & 3. Yes the "N" word is use quite a bit in this movie but it isn't the first and it surely won't be the last movie to use it. Overall this film gets a 10 out of 10 in my book. The cast was great and the plot/storyline was outstanding.

    Typical Tarentino

While the movie was entertaining, if you don't like blood and gore don't go. I haven't watched a Quentin Tarentino film since the Kill Bill series so I kinda forgot how obsessed he was with killing. Funny even though the theme was slavery which there is nothing funny about.

    Jamie Foxx is indeed Unchained

    by sndwind

I can't remember such a long movie never feeling a bit of slow down. This movie kept you fully engaged with a good balance of humor to keep the atrocities manageable. My group really loved this film.

    Bloody Sunday Bloody

This is not the first QT film I've seen, but I think this surpasses all others in goriness. While I enjoyed the story and the acting - Foxx, Waltz and DiCaprio were amazing, I struggled to understand the need for the amount of blood shown. Sometimes restraint is more powerful and the squirting blood and blood drenched walls seemed like overkill and unrealistic. I am by no means squeamish, but I did close my eyes more than once. Overall, I did enjoy it, but felt it struggled right about the time QT made his cameo, not sure if that was a coincidence. Would recommend seeing it to support Foxx - I am a fan.

    Good Movie

This is a "must see" movie. Very entertaining. You will not be disappointed. Jamie Foxx was outstanding. Don't miss this movie because of a few bad reviews by some uptight people with no sense of humor. Quentin Tarantino has outdone himself again with this one.

    OMG

    by Memfan

What a great movie. I did not expect it to be so good. I really enjoyed it. Acting was so good. I was captivated from the first minute to the last. If you watch it in the theater make sure you stay till after the credits, there is quick tid-bit. Best Tarantino movie yet!
