    Quintessential Tarrantino

    by carx15

If you love gratuitous violence and have a good laugh at the same time, you are gonna love this one.
This flic really got me emotionally involved. Good guys bad guys, original sets and scenes.
Waltz is great as a laid back mentor to Foxx.
Some parts were too long pero overall, I could not have done a better job of keeping me in my seat.

    Quentin never disappoints

    by D'Mo

This was a great one. He presents an interesting perspective on the "actualities" of slavery in the period and then gives you the classic revenge with lots of blood. A lot of laughs in there too. Really well done!

    Django Unchained

A true Tarantino classic. Action packed, no expense was cut for the blood and fight scenes. Thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end, the patrons in the theatre clapped because we had all been thoroughly entertained. Must go, must see!

    Misunderstood

    by

I saw the movie tonight and I thought it was great! It was action pack. I love that Quentin always does a cameo. All the lead characters did their roles well. I think a lot of people were reading to much in to certain words used in the movie. I feel that the way that it was used was appropriate for the time that the move took place. Other than that I enjoyed it. One part was a bit anti climactic but over all I would go see it again.

    Entertaining

    by gwkjn

Had no idea what to expect. Didn't like Pulp Fiction at all, but found Django Unchained very entertaining. Was surprised at the language in the movie which I thought might be offensive to many, but the audience seemed to enjoy the movie. Would recommend it.

    Great western movie!

    by jmm0979

I love the movie and just what I expected from QT, the movie was overly exaggerated and very graphic. I love the plot but I do wish Django's partner wasn't killed. My husband and I enjoyed it very much.

    Fantastic!

The use of the N-Word in Django Unchained didn't bother me as is was relevant to the times (though still vile). However, the misuse of the F-Word did bother me...I know, I know it's a Tarantino film, but this was also done in Lincoln. In the Civil War Era the F-Word was only used around brothels as a VERB...it had no other meaning.

That being said, the film was wonderful. Tarantino did a fantastic job at his first attempt at a spaghetti western, with his own Tarantino touch. Of course, you have all the over-the-top gore you have with his other films & the odd ball music that just doesn't quite match up. I just with Tarantino would stop making speaking cameos in his own films - boy does he stink!

Christoph Waltz's performance is divine and, quite frankly, he should win Best Supporting Actor.

    Django is Amazing!

    by

A really good movie....It brings a little bit of the unmentioned side of slavery and humor with QT's style of action.

It will have you upset in some scenes and then falling out of your chair laughing in others! This is definitely a movie for generations to see. QT, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Samuel Jackson, and Leo DiCaprio better get their honors and awards for this one....Cuz they most certainly brought more than just their A game to this film!

    Django Unchained

It was very watchable. It was long overdue as a depiction of the brutality of slavery and of a black man being the protagonist. Will it be screened in Mississippi.?

    Django-Well Worth The Wait!

    by

I really thought this was an outstanding movie with great Oscar worthy performances. Jamie Foxx played his part brilliantly! I also loved how Samuel Jackson played his part. It was so believable. Leonardo Dicaprio out did himself and I loved Christoph Waltz's character in the movie as well. It was very gory but what more would one expect with a Quentin Tarantino film! Great Job by Tarantino in making this film and an excellent diverse soundtrack. I saw the movie twice so that says how good it is!

    As Expected

    by rkingtx

A great movie by Quentin Tarantino. Although it had a lot of violence that is expected from Tarantino. Also was funny and kept my attention the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes. A must go see movie!

    Another Masterpiece!

I'm a big fan of Quentin's movies. I've see them all and would never pass one by if it's on TV. Before going to see this movie, I rated QT's top movies as 1- Pulp Fiction, 2- Kill Bill 1 & 2, and 3- Inglorious Basterds. After seeing this film, I'm rethinking my list and I'm not against placing this at the #1 spot. I might have to see this film a few more times to see how high to rate it. This being said, the film is histerically funny, gory, with a great plot and lines, acting, music, EVERYTHING! You've got to see it and that's that!
Btw, it's rated R, so no kids please. And if you're easily offended about the use of the "N" word in a pre-Civil War slavery era setting, like director Spike Lee, stay home; this movie might not be for you.
