    An Epic

    by

Some said it's too long, but I didn't have a problem. This is a film that has EVERYTHING. You don't need to know what I think about it, just go and see it. Nuf said.

    One of Tarantino's masterpieces

This film is one of Quentin Tarantino's masterpieces. It has all the trademarks of his greatest films. In many ways this film echoes Inglorious Basterds, but I find it even more satisfying for some reason. Tarantino takes the satisfying revenge of an oppressed class of people and weaves into the framework of a classic spaghetti western. The result is as satiating as a big juicy hamburger loaded with all your favorite toppings. Yum.

    Fantastic!

The use of the N-Word in Django Unchained didn't bother me as is was relevant to the times (though still vile). However, the misuse of the F-Word did bother me...I know, I know it's a Tarantino film, but this was also done in Lincoln. In the Civil War Era the F-Word was only used around brothels as a VERB...it had no other meaning.

That being said, the film was wonderful. Tarantino did a fantastic job at his first attempt at a spaghetti western, with his own Tarantino touch. Of course, you have all the over-the-top gore you have with his other films & the odd ball music that just doesn't quite match up. I just with Tarantino would stop making speaking cameos in his own films - boy does he stink!

Christoph Waltz's performance is divine and, quite frankly, he should win Best Supporting Actor.

    Quentin never disappoints

    by D'Mo

This was a great one. He presents an interesting perspective on the "actualities" of slavery in the period and then gives you the classic revenge with lots of blood. A lot of laughs in there too. Really well done!

    OMG...LOVED IT!!!

Django Unchained, was an awesome movie, after Roots, what other movie let's a black man seek revenge by blowing the heads off their slave master. The scene with the KKK when they were talking about the bags, that was the funniest scene ever. I laughed so hard I nearly wet my pants. All the actor's did a great job playing their characters, I almost didn't recognize Don Johnson as Big Daddy. Quentin Tarantino did an awesome job on this kick *** movie. You must go see it but with all the violent scenes and killing it is not for small children.

No Offense: But It Would Have Been Better If They'd Left Django Chained.

This film is a sadistic exhibition of gratuitous violence, packaged in a macabre and ghoulish manner and delivered to an audience under the guise of entertainment. The coldness of its long series of gruesome murders, coupled with the obvious attempt at mocking the ugliness of slavery, combined to have utterly disgusted this viewer. While accustomed to Tarantino's genre and bearing no illusions at what to expect in terms of violent content going in, even so, I found this film was violent and ugly on a level far removed from the physical, much unlike the dark comedic emphasis present in Tarantino?s ?Machete.? Instead this one was just gruesome, physically and morally, with nearly nothing to offer in entertainment value to any normal person. This one is more or less a type of blood porn, far uglier and deviant than your typical ?slasher? fare. Save your money. If this sort of vicarious experience entertains you, it might be wise to seek the help of a mental health professional.

    DJANGO fast paced

LeMiz only had front row seats and we jumped to DJANGO instead and were not disappointed. The many plots were fast action and the almost 2-1/2 hour movie went quickly. Acting was really good and the twists took your breath. It was a bit too Quentin Tarentino in that it was gratuitously violent and closing your eyes didn't diminish the images. Wonderful casting and even some lighter moments (but not a comedy) and the character development made you interested in what happened to them.

    Quentin Does it again

    by RLEP

Well, if you are expecting violence, or twists in the plot, and of course seasoned actors doing what they do well. THIS IS YOUR FILM!!! Quentin has given us unusual perspectives of life and times before, and he's done it again. Django Unchained is truly outrageous and and off and off the CHAIN.!!!! I would recommend this movie to anyone over 16. Not because of violence (it Quentin, let's be real) but language.

    another tarantino masterpiece

if you like tarantino's style, you'll love django. if you can't overlook or appreciate the director's elaborate use of blood & violence, you may want to skip. django is well crafted, full of wit, anguish, sorrow and victory. you'll find yourself engaged from start to finish.

    classy comedic capricious

    Jamie Foxx keeps it serious
    Samuel L Jackson is hillarious
    DiCaprio is amazing
    Waltz is oscar worthy

This is a great moving story that satirizes the ridiculous past of the U.S. while keeping it funny and interesting. Waltz is amazing!

Bottom Line- Everyone go see this movie; it has something for everyone.

    Just a Fun Movie

At first I thought I wasn't enjoying Django Unchained because it wasn't really what I had expected, but then I realized I hadn't stopped smiling since the movie began.

Another fun Tarantino outing - but could benefit from some editing

    by SandP

If you are a Tarantino fan, you will of course LOVE this movie. He touches all the bases - great dialog, great acting from all of the leads (SLJ steals the show!) great visuals, lots of shout-outs to classic movies and actors and of course the highly stylized violence which makes his movies fun (hopefully anyone with half a brain is not going to think this is "realistic" and molding impressionable young minds).
As much as I enjoyed the movie, it would have been much better if about 15-20 minutes had been edited out. There were several times where the movie jsut dragged and I found myself checking the time - something that I have never done during a Tarantino movie before. I understand that the uncut version of the movie is quite a bit longer - something for a DVD, where one can either take a break or FF.
    Still, a must-see for me

    SOOOO GOOOD!!

So entertaining yet gives you a sense of how ridiculous slavery was. Acting was great and storyline even better! Don't even think twice ...Just go and see it. Just be prepared for some bloody scenes - expected for a Tarantino movie.

    Thumbs Way Up

    by

Tarantino does a masterful job with a difficult subject. He peppers the horrors or a dark time in our history with satire and irony. Beautifully done!
