cinematic creativity in a historic backdrop

Django is not a documentary. Yet the background of the movie
is steeped in the world of slavery. This movie is a forbidden love
story that is strung across the horrific brutality that erupted
from slavery and that of the pre-civil war era. In between
the story lines there is humor. The humor on the
surface brings laughter yet if you pause for a moment
the humor is a product of twisted perspectives.
I hope you enjoy this movie. I sure did!

    Django "Holy @%$&"

Make no mistake about it this is a Quintan Teratino movie. If you have never seen a QT Movie (i.e. Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Reservoir Dogs...etc) prepare yourself. I do not suggest bringing any children under the age of 18y/o. Why would you though? It's a QT movie. Did I mention, THIS IS A QT MOVIE!!!

    Another Hit by Tarrantino

This movie was awesome. The acting was great. I would just say almost 3hours was a little too long. If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to see it.

    TARANTINO

This movie was top-notch. A great way to end off 2012! The acting was great, the writing was amazing and it has just enough violence for all you true Tarantino fans!

I can't find anything bad to say about it.

    5 stars/5 stars. !!!FLAWLESS!!!

on the heels of Newtown --- THIS ???

    by

    Texas Chainsaw is less violent.

Normally I'd put up with that, as I did with Tarantino's "Bill" movies. But at this point in time, for a movie THIS bloody and violent - just STEEPED in gore - to be released, well, it's just wrong.

Ignoring the gore, this is a good - NOT great - movie. Nominating it for an Academy is a laugh (or sneer). It's NOT great. But it is good. But add in the gore, and my suggestion is you pass and pass big time.

    Tarantino Has Done It Again!!!

    by

Another good movie from Quentin Tarantino with vast variety of actors we haven't seen on screen in a while. Yes, Tarantino stay true to his gritty core style of action with plenty of visual bloody action the way action movies need to be. So far whatever Tarantino puts his hands on seen to have a Midas experience!!! Great job by the very talented songwriter, comedian, actor Jamie Foxx. Samuel L. Jackson really got into your mind & had you leaving the theatre wanting to see him DEAD!!! Now that's a great perform!!! GO SEE IT!!!

This movie was sooo violent over 100 people get blown away with major blood flying. I wanted to leave after the first 15 minutes. This is not for ladies and ESPECIALLY NOT FOR CHILDREN. I wish I could of got my money back. VIOLENCE BREADS VIOLENCE.

    Django Unchained

Great movie but lots of gore and lauguage. Quinten did an amazing job as always but it is a LONG movie running about 3 hours. It doesn't have the slow parts you would expect from a long movie though it is entertaining the whole time. Enjoyed an orginal story line and great acting.

not the movie for you if you are touchy feely

Very funny movie, and for a two hour movie you would never know because if keeps moving. There are no lag spots like some movies of this length. DO NOT take young children to see the movie very adult well some adults

    Django Unchained

Real good movie. The actors where great! The only thing had to get over them saying the N word so much! I thought the real bloody parts of the movie looked fake.

    Django

I loved this movie. Part history, part redemption, good action, and even some humor. All of the acting was great and Jamie Foxx was perfect in the lead. Kerry Washington was a beautiful cast. Leonardo was flawless as a slave master. And Samuel L. Jackson was priceless as the old Uncle Tom. Christoph Waltz played the good doctor better than anyone else good. A must see.

    Unexpected enjoyment

I definitely did not expect humor in this movie, but it was enjoyable, unexpected laughter. I would recommend it to anyone. It was so much fun. I believe Jamie Foxx and Samuel Jackson took their acting skills to another level.

    Django Unchained...YES.....a must see!!!

    by katfos

Jamie Foxx and the rest of the characters are outstanding in this movie. There was alot of blood and shooting, but it was counter balanced with the humor, friendship, romanticism and way of life..back in the day. Showed a real insight into slavery. If you are insulted by the "N" word, be prepared but blacks and whites use it. I would highly recommend going to see this movie. In the end chivalry wins. I think the R rating for this movie is spot on.

    Sooo Good!

If you love westerns and Tarantino movies, you will love Django! Fast-paced, edge of your seat exciting, twists, turns, funny and sad, Django is a masterpiece. All of the actors' performances were breath taking, I loved Samuel L. Jackson as Stephen, and Leonardo DiCaprio was fantastic. Jamie Foxx and Christopher Waltz brought the characters to life. Loved every minute of it!

Almost as good as Inglorious Basterds

If you're a fan of QT, you'll probably like/love this movie. The dialogue was very good, but the only one to really rattle off any classic QT rants was Christoph Waltz, who again was excellent even though it will be tough to ever beat his turn in Basterds. Jamie Foxx did a great job as the title character, and Leonardo DiCaprio almost stole the show as Candie. This movie is worth seeing for these three alone. The story itself is interesting, and it was fun to see QT play in this genre and subject matter. I've heard some people complaining about the blood and the excessive use of the "N" word. Frankly, I didn't have a problem with either of these things. For one, I thought there was more blood in Kill Bill, and since this film is largly about the treatment of slaves on cotton plantations during the 1800s, the language in general seemed relatively appropriate. Yeah, the "N" word is used A LOT, but it was nothing like some of the reviews had made it out to be. I say SEE IT
