    Amazing Movie

    by

The movie Django was amazing with a great cast of actors. I enjoyed the historical and action aspect of the movie over all. Kerry, Jamie, and Leonardo all deserve many awards and recognition for their amazing roles and acting ability. But SAMUEL L JACKSON stole the show in the end. Even though the movie can have it's serious parts, there is plenty of comedic moments to break it up. I would not recommend taking young children or young teens. But overall I recommend it.

    Great movie

    by

This movie is a must see. I highly recommend it. You don't have to be a fan of cowboy movies to enjoy this flick. I may even go see it again. Go see it.

    Must see by all

    by

If you see the movie and expect it to be an insult to slavery, you're allowing your attachment to your perception ruin a great movie. No matter who sees this there's something to get out of it and for me.... Django Freeman is one of the best black heroes, if not the best, to ever be created. Comics so now. This story is an epic worthy of study. Yeah, I said it. Ulysses, Beowulf, Django.

    Couldn't get enough!

It was a great movie. There were lots of action scenes, good acting, great story and Tarantino didn't disappoint.

I know I will watch it again.

    LOVED IT!!!

Just saw D'Jango last night, and it was fantastic!
It's definitely not for the faint of heart, because it gets very real on the horrors of slavery, and can be pretty bloody at times. Some people can't handle the truth!!
The acting was absolutely exceptional from Jamie Foxx, Leo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel Jackson. This movie was 3 hours long, but you would never know it.. I was ALL IN! It will be interesting to see how The Oscars treat this film..
I like how Tarantino turns history on its head in movies, and this was his best yet, it even has some humorous takes on the inefficiency of KKK robes for vision.. If you liked Inglorious Basterds, you'll probably like this!
I thought I was gonna be uncomfortable with the excessive use of the n-nord, but it wasn't bad, and honestly, that's the vernacular of the time.
People who want to boycott this film just have no sense of humor, or aren't ready to accept that slavery happened. Is time to accept it people! Go see this!

    Amazing in every way

This was classic Tarantino - from the font of the lead in credits and music all the way through to the final scene of the movie. Add several amazing actors to a very good story. Full of subtle and not so subtle "statements" about society and human behavior both from that time in history and today. I can't wait to see follow up interviews with Tarantino about this film, he wrote so much detail into this movie, I just want to hear the his thoughts on these details. Personally, my favorite Tarantino, historical relevance plus pulp-fiction feel.

    Really Good.

This was a great QT film. He is always very consistent in the things that inspire his movies and this film did not fall short.

Just so its clear... As an Black American, I was NOT offended by this film at all. Although it was satirical at points in the film, I believe it to be a real depiction of what the experience at the time. I have always believed that if something bad has happened to you don't just bottle it up and never talk about it. Have a adult conversation about it.

    I really liked the movie.

    Django Unchained

    by finmax

Very well done but not my kind of film. Violent and bloody. There were lots of things I preferred not to watch but the movie did keep me interested. To be honest, I did almost get up and leave.

    QT IS ON POINT!!!

I know Quentin T. is a true video head and has seen a lot of movies. Besides the spaghetti westerns influence there were a lot of elements from an old classic film from the 70's that appeared throughout Django. In the 1970's a movie by the name of "The Legend of ****** Charlie" starring Fred Williamson came out and it was also about a slave breaking free and reeking vengeance in the south ( It even had a sequel). Django is a modern translation of that film. And Spike Lee (who I am a fan of) should just stop hating on QT and just see the film, I'd bet he would be surprised with himself. And Quentin, how bout a sequel.....

    THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!

    by ohdiva

I'm really not a fan of westerns but this movie, in my opinion, was GREAT!!! There was action, drama, comedy....all rolled up into one. Bravo to them all! I would see it again for real! If you can get passed the racialness from our past....the you gotta see it for yourself. I wouldn't take any kids..they wouldn't understand it racially speaking but all in all it's a good movie to see!

    Overuse of the QT formula

    Rent It
Seems just another QT offering where Tarantino seems to have phoned it in...revenge them - check, western themes - check, blaxplotation - check, blood and gore - check. Its all there in a story plot , where at one point made no sense, given the Dr. Schultz character made a very UNcharacterisitc move at the end, and actually could have ended the movie quite differently (but then Mr. Tarantino would have had to work a little harder at being creative) and instead led to a gory and I must say, boring shoot out sequence, After my time committemnt as a viewer, it was 3 hours of same old, same old with some laugh gags thrown in (esp. the Old Spice commercial gag) that seemed sophmoric - I was glad when it finally reached its predictable ending. Good performances by Mr. Di Caprio and the actor who played Dr. Schultz - Mr. Fox's character was pretty dull and had stupid lines, so too bad, since he's a very good actor. Mr. Jackson's 'cameo', if you will, was also underwhelmimg.

    Django Unchained

Really enjoyed the storyline; good action flick; but some of violence was a little too graphic. Acting was great! Enjoyed seeing some of the actors you haven't seen for a while on the screen. Not for kids - for mature adults only.

    Excellent!

Tarantino succeeds, again, in creating a great satire about the ills of slavery. Of course, true to his style, it is extremely violent (almost excessively so) and I had to cover my eyes for parts of it because it was just too much to see. That being said, the social commentary and witty dialogue (especially Christopher Waltz and Samuel Jackson's characters) is exceptional. This is what makes Tarantino films so poignant; at the same time that they are hideous, dark, and disturbing, they are also funny and smart.
