    More than just a "chick-flick"

Yes it's a love story that will require a quick dab with a kleenex. It's also a bit of a suspense drama that unfolds a little unexpectedly. Then there's the ending which is exciting, and it all gets tied up with a neat little bow at the very end. Definitely worth your time and money to go see.

    Good Movie

I think that the book was so much better, but that's always the case. Lots of small differences, but the main story was the same. We really enjoyed it!

    Best romance movie. Hands down.

    by

I'm not usually an emotional movie watcher, but I cried like a baby watching this movie. It was not predictable, like most Hollywood movies. I would recommend this movie to EVERYONE.

    Adorable

Safe Haven is one of the movies that can only be described as adorable. It wasn?t amazing, yet it wasn?t awful either. The thing that disappointed me the most was that it wasn?t really like the book. Now, I get that a lot of Nicholas Sparks? books aren?t similar to the movie, but I don?t know.. this one was a lot different. Although I must say, the movie itself is very fast paced, filled to the brim with drama, romance, and action… meaning your man will probably like it, too.

The beautiful Julianne Hough, whom I absolutely love, played the main character Katie. I thought she did a good job in this role. Not excellent, first off because I thought they made her look to ?prettied up? for the role of a quiet, hidden, lost girl who is running away from her husband, but it?s Hollywood… what are you gonna do… Josh Duhamel played Alex, the love interest of Katie and a single Dad of two. I thought he was great as this role. Also, the actress who played Alex?s daughter was outstanding!

    Not for me

Did I like the movie? No! I wanted to leave after 30 mins. BUT I saw others really enjoying it so I am saying it was not a movie for me. I do not have to have action and thrills but this movie was just so sugary and girlie to such a degree that it appeared false and unreal. I can enjoy a good romance movie but this was estrogenized to the Nth degree. It does have a surprising good ending.

    Safe Haven -- Fantastic

This is the best movie we have seen in a very long time. The scenery was absolutely breath-taking, the script was well written, the actors and actresses were great. I am recommending that ALL my friends go see this movie. The ending came totally unexpected.

    BEST MOVIE EVER WATCHED

    OMG!!
I'm in LOVE with this movie! BEST ONE I'VE EVER SEEN!
I like how there is romance between Alex and Katie and I like how Katie barely knows Alex, Lexi and Josh in the beginning but still is nice to them and helps them. Like when Josh falls into the ocean, she helps Alex by taking care of Lexi. *SPOILER ALERT!* sorry...
    LOVE ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Adequate Film with awful ending

The film was unexceptional but adequate throughout. I would have given the film a so-so rating were it not for the final scene of the film. The ending is just horrible and changes my feeling about the film.

    drawn out

    by

Took too long to introduce the romance. Too much mystery, you're very confused for half the film. The two leads had very little chemistry. Okay movie, very underwhelming.

Go see it if you've read the book and are a Nicholas Sparks fan.

    by

They changed several things from the book, which always annoys me. However, I just love Josh Duhamel and he is reason alone to see the movie! :) Plus, as an added bonus, Julianne Hough was quite delightful. I have never seen her in anything before and I really liked her.

I can see where people who are not fans wouldn't much care for this movie, but I thought it was worth it since I had invested time in the book and I kept up with the hype on the Safe Haven Facebook page. I'm a sucker for a good romance. :)

    Notebook it is NOT!

It is no notebook! Wow, completely predictable and it just pain drags. Just didn?t do it for me or my girlfriend (we went on Valentine?s Day).

    Love story

I would go see this because it does show what real relationships are like. I love the setting of the town. It was good over coming evil here. I will agree it wasn't close to the book but it was a very good romantic drama and I would go see it again if I had time. Julianne and Josh did an amazing job in this movie

Good movie for a date night

    by

My wife and I both thought this was a nice, smarmy, feel-good movie. Slight surprise at the end that just added to the "awwww" feeling. If you've seen and liked other Nicholas Sparks movies, you won't be disappointed.

    :)

Saw it on Valentine's Day Weekend. My boyfriend said I could pick any movie I wanted so of course I picked the chick flick. No regrets, I loved it and he loved it. It has a good story line that keeps you guessing the whole way through. I loved it so much that I even bought it for my Grandma for Mother's day knowing that she would love it to without a doubt.

    Horrible acting

The plot was predictable and I the only thing that could've redeemed the movie were the actors. But both Duhamel and Hough did sub par jobs. If you are expecting a 'the notebook esque" experience, prepare to be very disappointed. You are better off watching a lifetime orginal movie.
