    Wait for it

    Was really looking forward to this movie and was truly disappointed. No real chemistry comes across on the screen between "Katie" and any other cast member. Josh Duhamel does a decent job but without help from his co-star it just doesn;t work. Julienne doesn't seem to connect with anyone from Josh down to little Lexi. Save your money and wait for it to come out On Demand for free. Sorry.

    A good flick

    Took the wife and we both love the movie. Then again, it is a Nick Sparks film. If you are into his stories, it is a must see. If not, catch when you can.

    Terrible.

    From the acting to the plot, this movie was terrible. I read the book a day prior to seeing the movie. The book was amazing. Seeing the movie, makes me really wonder what happened. There was no chemistry in the 2 main characters. The directing was horrible. The movie did not stick to the plot of the book. The only thing they took from the book was a couple of names, the location, and the plot. They left out 3/4ths of the movies. And to be honest, if you were in a abusive relationship with a man for around 5 years, would you just go up to a guy and start dating and let down your gaurd in just 3 weeks. In the book it took her around 7 months!! I can honestly say that after reading the book, I was very excited to see the movie. And after seeing the movie, I can truly say that I am very disappointed.

    Not for me

    Did I like the movie? No! I wanted to leave after 30 mins. BUT I saw others really enjoying it so I am saying it was not a movie for me. I do not have to have action and thrills but this movie was just so sugary and girlie to such a degree that it appeared false and unreal. I can enjoy a good romance movie but this was estrogenized to the Nth degree. It does have a surprising good ending.

    For the hoplessly romantic!!!

    I love, love, love this movie!!! I recommend it to the hopelessly romantic. To the ones who are skeptical about love, GO SEE IT!!! it will definitely change your point of view... It had me crying. Although I think, more of her flash backs as to how she came to meet Alex should have been emphasized more.

    Julia did it better

    Not sure if anyone remembers, Julia Roberts already did this movie called "Sleeping with the Enemy" in1991 and did it much better. Very surprised that it opened on Valentines Day, not exactly the feel good love story I would condider. I mean Hello! the ex gets shot in the head and the daughter almost dies in a fire and this is at the end. Just ok acting and even worse directing. seemed very choppy to me and the characters were not developed well or likeable.
    Wait for video if you must see this at all.

    Safe Haven -- Fantastic

    This is the best movie we have seen in a very long time. The scenery was absolutely breath-taking, the script was well written, the actors and actresses were great. I am recommending that ALL my friends go see this movie. The ending came totally unexpected.

    Dumbest Movie Ever

    I shouldn't have been surprised that a Nicholas Sparks film was lacking any real character development or substance, but this one went beyond terrible. It's like a Nicholas Sparks/M Knight Shyamalan cocktail with the worst possible results.

    Definitely (Not) the best Nicholas Sparks movie

    *Disclaimer* I am a male.

    Took my wife to see this on Valentines Day and while she really enjoyed it, I was overly indifferent about it. On the way home, when she couldn't understand why it wasn't my favorite movie ever, I said "Okay, imagine my scale or list of movies I enjoy. How far down the list do you think Nicholas Sparks movie rank? And this is (at best) the 3rd best Nicholas Sparks movie I've seen." I understand that I'm not the target audience for this movie and I'm good with that. I'm simply trying to warn other guys out there when their significant others attempt to talk them into seeing the movie because "it has the guy from Transformers in it".

    Safe Haven

    I loved this movie but then I am a hopeful romantic. I also thought Josh and Julianne were spectacular in it. He makes every romantic scene even more romantic. The movie was also suspenseful and had a lot of twists and turns in it. It will make you believe in love again.

    Engaging Love Story

    An excellent love story. Plot was good, althougth there were some flaws in the story, but they didn't take away from its warmth or sweetness. Only other downside is that the movie slightly dragge, but it was nice enough to overshadow that detail.

    There was one sexy bedroom scene, with the actors back and sides, and a small amount of violence, which makes it a little unsuitable for under 14 year olds.

    I thought Josh and Julianne had great chemistry! It was a great story line. You should check it out.. it has something for everyone... hot guy... hot girl... some action...some love...cute kids :)

    Yes, a "Chick Flick". But a good one.

    I only post reviews when I feel a movie has been disproportionately praised or criticized. I believe this one has been disproportionately criticized. It is indeed a "chick flick" in every sense, and some of it requires patience, but for what it is, it is a very good movie. It is rare that I will see a movie like this, but to my wife's surprise I enjoyed it a lot.

    Not a bad movie, as other reviews suggest

    This movie was sweet, charming, and had me in tears at the end. Yes, the 'stupifying' twist that others complain about, will actually warm your heart. If you have kids, or have lost a loved one, I think it would be impossible to not at least get choked up with this film.Yes, it's true that it's somewhat predictable at times (but then again, there is no surprise the two stars are getting together at SOME point), and it loosely borrows its' storyline from Sleeping with the Enemy, and you do kind of wonder why she would choose to live in the woods after what she's been through (and is going through), but the movie just works.The characters I thought were lovely and had a ton of chemistry. The daughter's character was adorable, the scenery cozy, and the 'bad guy', well...he looks and acts the part. This is no Oscar contender, by any stretch, but since The Notebook had terrible reviews as well, I tend not to pay too much attention to critics. Everyone in the theater, including men, enjoyed

    No offense...

    I am up for a good romance film that makes you appreciate a love worth fighting for and all that it entails (The Notebook, Atonement) but quite honestly this seems like an LMN movie- let me clarify I haven't seen it- but does the trailer makes it seem like either that or another Sleeping With The Enemy remake..??
