    A Moth See Movie....

    Okay, I'm going to say go.
    I can understand why professional critics are going to say pass. Because this is pretty basic, common and pedestrian "Possession" horror movie fare. But if that is what you are in the mood to see? It is done well enough.

    One scene employs the "strobe" light effect. Some other scenes are executed and leave you thinking they could of, and should of, been scarier. But overall? For what it is, it is fine. Don't expect to see the scariest movie of your life...and you can enjoy this perfectly palatable if very predictable horror film.

    Great scary movie!,

    Usually I don't like taking the time to go to the movies to watch a "scary movie". This time was a pleasant surprise. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time..
    I would actually see it again..

    not scary at all the ending sucked by the way i mean really i dont understand why they made such a big hype over this movie true story or not wasnt that big of a deal, the unborn was better than this thing

    Uninspired

    It's a haunted house. You know, an experience you step into so that you can be shocked and frightened if you kind of go along with it. And the scary stuff is done well in this movie. Special effects are generally good and the film generally looks good. There is an enormous amount of energy spent trying to develop the divorce subplot with way too many awkward scenes of ex's interacting as children are picked up and dropped off, and of the ex being passive aggressive around the new love interest, and it's just not done well. Meanwhile the background story of the monster is treated reluctantly and abruptly. Lots of Exorcist II overtones. There wasn't really anything interesting about the characters. At the heart of every good movie is a good story...The story here is thin and unsatisfying; little more than a vehicle used to deliver a few well done scary scenes.

    Expected bit more from Sam Raimi

    Title says it all. Overall well acted, creepy at times. I would have liked some more whimsical scary fun from Raimi. Overall enjoyable but not a must.

    better then i expected, not scary

    Better then i expected, thought it was gonna be some mindless scare you kind movie. It took a bit of time to get going. I got interested in the movie about half way thru when i realized its about a jewish exorcism. Not being jewish I found it interesting to see that part of their religion.

    Entertaining and Plenty Spooky Enough.

    It's a formula flick...yes, but it's your basic date movie too. You know....just the right combination of sound and video to bring the two of you closer. It's a little old fashioned as horror goes nowadays but don't let that stop you. Those old films are the reason we have these massively successful horror films of today. Naturally, leave the little kids home. Too intense and boring for them. Otherwise, see this movie. If you like horror, you won't be disappointed.

    Good

    The movie was okay. It wasn't very scary. Better to wait until it comes out on DVD.The storyline was better than the scary parts. It was all shown on the trailer. They made it loud and dramatic and then you start feeling it and then BOOM its not scary..... The dads acting wasn't good for some reason, it might just be me but i was bugged by it the whole time.

    worst movie of my life

    i had a free movie ticket and went to see this with friends and was so glad i did not pay for it. the movie had no plot and just completely sucked. after the first 15 minutes i left because i could not stand to wast 2 hours of my life. DONT GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

    It was okay

    I wouldn't buy it on DVD but it was okay. I took my kids 13 and 11 and it scared them but for an adult it wasn't a cover your eyes movie.

    Completely and Thoroughly Unoriginal

    If you have ever seen an exorcism movie then you have already seen this movie. It brought nothing new to the table. The actors were good, but that's about it. Save your money and watch it on Netflix.

    Choppy, slow moving Wait for DVD

    I liked it enough to stay for the whole movie, but it was a fairly slow moving film with predicatble results and average acting.

    There were some truly terrifying moments, but not many and all were very short lived. Each suspense scene was quickly followed by a move to a different and calm scene and it did not keep my attention well.

    If I were allowed to text during a movie, I would have done so during this film.

    Totally Disapointed

    This movie was not anything like expected. It is not a "Horror" movie! There are no real scary parts in this movie and it was a total let down to me. Yes there are a few suspenseful moments but nothing worthy of the words Horror, Thriller, or Scary. I still do not think it would be a movie any small children should watch. The acting was average as well as the directing. If you like those so called scary movies like the paranormal activity series, then this movie is for you.

    Not Ground-Breaking, But Still Entertaining

    While the film is far from ground-breaking, if you enjoy movies in the genre, "The Possession" isn't a bad choice to go and see. It's mildly creepy throughout, but the ending is pretty intense. Try to go when there isn't going to be a theater filled with teenage girls. They scream at everything and then laugh about it for the next five minutes. Ugh...

    One of Best movies

    This is one of best movies I have ever seen. It comprises of all. I hate most of the thriller and horror films which has all the bloody and cuts. This is a very nice movie which has a great family story as well. It is freaky, thrilling, and I love it. Hey, guys YOU MUST WATCH THIS!
