I liked the movie. The little possessed girls acting was very good. Her sisters acting in the movie not so much. This is not a movie for small kids.

The Possession was GREAT!

I love scary movies - and good ones are hard to come by. This one ranks up there with The Ring which is one my my all time favorites! Watch it!

This is not "based on true story" but "Inspired by true story". I haven't seen the movie like this for so long. At one point, I really felt like "I must get out of here!"
Make sure to protect yourself spiritually before you go!!!

Spooky movie

Crazy, spooky movie that is based on a true story. Wow! I am definitely not going to be buying anything at yard sales. The story built up quite well and had great special effects

Another Exorcism Movie...

This time around we're treated to a Jewish exorcism, complete with Polish history and an MRI that reveals a murky slow-mo video of the demon lurking within. Well, there are certainly plenty of creepy scenes in this movie that depend heavily on the usual tricks, extensive use of darkness and low light, eerie music with sudden loudness, etc. Don't expect anything new, but you'll be entertained as long as you came in the mood to see this type of fare.

not like the exorcist

i watched this movie thinking it was going to be a bit corny, but it surprised me there. i overall thought the movie was just okay, because the ending did sort of act like the exorcist. there was a compelling soundtrack that made you assume something was going to happen but then sometimes nothing did. the events that took place once the demon was in the girl, were pretty interesting but nothing new. i think the only new theme this demon movie had was that it was a jewish demon. if you like these sort of movies, see it, if you are thinking about seeing it, think about just waiting till it comes out on dvd.

Honestly the movie was better than I expected. Had just enough jump scences and creepish parts. Acting was good as well. I will definatley buy it when it comes out.

Awful, and not even in a fun way

One of the worst movies ive watched, and im even one to watch bad movies for amusement. This was not amusing. Nor scary. The plot was trash and the implimentation/acting was even worse.

Dull.
Oh so dull
I'm all for a slow burn, but it's all slow and no burn.
Well shot? Yup. Well acted too. But stone cold dull. Not one scare. Nary a half jump. The audiences was bored.

When Matisyahu is the best part of a movie, something's wrong.

Sat in the middle of giggling & screaming college students. The movie was slow. I thought the graphics was ok and some suspenseful jumps here and there. It took the usual turn at the ending. No surprises. More of a rent movie than $10.50 movie ticket

Exorcist Remake

This was a good remake of the Exorcist. Or at least I think it was because there were several people in the theatre who insisted on talking in loud voices and running all over the place.

Instead of catholic priests doing the exorcism, it has a Hasidic rabbi.

If you go to a theatre to see a movie please have some respect for other people and SHUT THE ***&^ UP!

Loud music does not a scary movie make

I went hoping for a good thrill, the biggest of which was revealed in the ads running on TV.

Seemed like the director thought that turning the lights down low on the characters and the music up really loud would make for scary. Did not work for me.

Thought the acting for the main characters was very good, but some of the minor characters seemed like relatives given some screen time.

There were several moments where one character or another behaved in an unbelievable way.

The ending was telegraphed well before we got to it, and the (spoiler alert ........) creature which resembled an infant Andy Serkis as Gollum clone, lacked any element of any kind which might have made it frightening. Might play better on a small screen.

And (more spoiler .....) the protracted scene with the thing coming from Clyde's mouth was just awful, and not in a good way. In a "what-were-you-thinking" way.

Not bad!

As stated in the title, not bad for a horror suspense movie. Worth the money and don't get a big bucket of popcorn cause you might spill it when it gets suspensful.

a 2012 version of the exorcist

The story was decent and there was nothing gory or gross that you wouldn?t expect to see in a movie about a girl that gets possessed. I thought the actors did a good job and although horror is my favorite genre, I wish the writers would make the characters a bit more aware and not completely oblivious about what is going on until the last minute. Other than that, it was entertaining!

Ok, but felt like a 3 hour movie...

Usually check how long a movie is because I can't sit still for anything over 2 hours unless it is exceptionally captivating. Didn't check for this one and I could have cried I was so bored and could not believe it was only 1:31...
