    Mirror Mirror

I thought the movie was good. I would probably go see it again.

The actress who played Snow White did an excellent job. The Dwarfs were a hoot.

    A Pleasant Surprise

Everyone knows the story but this adaptation puts in some new twists and it works. It's part action film part romance. I think it worked and it was a lot of fun.

    Costumes make it!

Well, the costumes alone make seeing this movie on the big screen worth it. Seriously! I'm pretty sure I drove the people sitting in front of me crazy by all the "ohhh"-ing and "aww"-ing I did last night. They are AMAZING.

On the other hand, I think the script was lacking a little something. The story is a unique and creative take on the Snow White tradition - but I think it fell short in several places. Most noticeable was the character development of the dwarfs. Their characters were AMAZING... I mean, really great casting and all that jazz! They could have been the source of some really great laughs... but I felt like every time we almost got there, the script fell short. I was definitely disappointed from that perspective.

But its a cute creative take on Snow White and really beautiful on the big screen.

    Looved it!

    by neuska2

I took my 7 yr old daughter to see this and I have to say I think it was highly entertaining. The sets and cinematography were beautiful, the story was good. And Lily Collins was a great Snow White. The dwarves made me laugh, and Julia Roberts was perfect in the role! I say go see it!

Julia Roberts Looks Like She's Having Fun Playing the Evil Queen

This tongue in cheek version of the Snow White story provides a fun diversion for an evening with the girls (although there were plenty of men in the audience as well who were laughing). I especially enjoyed Roberts repartee with her humble assistant played by Nathan Lane. The sets and costuming are lavish bonbons from fairy tale land that delight the eye and if you don?t take any of this seriously, you?ll have a good time at the movies viewing this old story from a more jaundiced vantage point.

A nicer version of the story

With three different versions of this story floating around, I wondered just how well each might do while being original and not duplicating. Although I don't watch the TV show (my husband does), I have seen bits and pieces. This movie is a nice re-imagining of the Snow White story and Armie Hammer makes a really nice prince, while Julia Roberts does a great job as a self-centered queen and the more subdued Mirror.

    bollywood white.

My daughter liked the movie. It's kid friendly an empowering did young girls as Snow is not a damsel in distress but takes her fortune into her own hands..little people are not left out of the loop as the dwarfs are now a group of renegade bandits as opposed to hard workibg knomes. This movie will be hard for any parent because how many fairytales must one sit through... I felt like I was watching Robinhood & the men in tights where the direction and writing are concerned. And to add to the injury the director ends it in classical bollywood fashion. A song and dance. Were the lyrics not in English, you could have thought you wondered into the wrong film. Kids will enjoy. Parents forced to take them beware and prepared for a nap.

    Worth seeing

It was great to see Julia Roberts in a role where she wasn't the "pretty woman", even though she wasn't ugly by any stretch. The dwarfs (or is it dwarves) were great. As someone else posted, the costumes were incredible! There will have to be an award for that. We had the grandparents and my 5 year old...and everyone was able to enjoy.

    Dressed to kill!

It was a charming, if bit rowdy, update to old classic. But original Grimm's were also a bit black. But the pomp and circumstance was great... fabulous Julia, in all her glory! BTW the kids in the audience LOVED it!

    Mirror Mirror

    by

The adaptation was interesting. The movie was funny and action packed. The ending however was too abrupt making the moviegoer not have the satisfying feeling of seeing a complete story come together. I didn't feel like I saw a good movie when I walked out of the theater.

Julia Roberts played a great character but I don't think the character's evil nature was portrayed evil enough. Mean enough. In other words, the character was flat.

I recommend that you wait to see this one OnDemand.

    I loved Mirror Mirror

I thought Mirror Mirror was a fun way to spend a couple of hours. Julia Roberts and Nathan Lane were hysterical. Lily Collins and Armie Hammer had a great chemistry. The seven dwarfs/little people were great, also. The only part that confused me was the Bollywood ending. Where did that come from? You could have left that out. It was odd. Great movie other then that.

Better than I thought It Would Be.

It's a family movie. Don't go into the theater expecting an absolutely amazing movie, but do expect a fairly funny, enjoyable film. Lily Collins is a great Snow White, Army Hammer is a dashing prince, and the dwarfs may look annoying, but they're actually a good addition to the movie. I suggest it as a movie to see with your kids or a "just to pass the time" movie.

    Mirror Mirror

It's been a long time since a movie actually put me to sleep. Julia Roberts was not evil enough in her role (a la Glenn Close as Cruella deVille) . I am however, looking forward to the Charlize Theron version opening in the summer.....the special effects look great.

    a real delight

As a teacher enjoying her spring break, I took myself to see Mirror Mirror and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. There were several genuinely witty moments that were completely clean, and yet obviously geared towards an adult understanding of society. I loved the retelling of this classic story and would go see it again.
