Good costuming, confusing and drawn out story line

    by Sang

I appreciate these attempts at revisionist fairy tales that are a little less patriarchal, but this one is a little muddled and confusing. There were a few laugh out lout moments, but over all it was just ok.

I liked the Bollywood style song and dance number at the end.

    Actually enjoyable.

I went into this movie aleady bias. Overall, it was very entertaining. I loved the characters and the story line. And Ilike the thought of children seeing the movie and Snow White being the heroine instead of the prince. I kept waiting to see where the apple was going to tie into the modern day snow white and when it finally did, I I went into this movie aleady bias. Overall, it was very entertaining. Then comes the worse part of the movie, that I understand made sense that the city danced again but I wanted to vomit just watching was the end dance number. They could of made it less......nauseating.

    An Unexpected Nice Surprise

First of all, let me be up front about the fact that Julia Roberts annoys me. Period. A movie with Julia Roberts lately is all about HER. That being said, I didn't want to see this movie. It looked really annoying from the previews. So, when I got dragged to it, there was no one more surprised than me that I actually liked it. I have read reviews here that says "BRILLIANT!!!!" No, it's not Brilliant. There are also reviews "HORRIBLE!!!!" Not Horrible. It is campy, it is fun, and you can take kids to see it without cringing. The dwarves were an interesting surprise on how they revamped that, and the costumes and scenery were some of the main stars. Plus....Julia Roberts didn't annoy me in this role. I actually laughed a lot. I liked it so much, that when my friend wanted to go with her daughter, I volunteered for a second time. There you go. Good flick.

    A cute little movie

Mirror Mirror was a cute little movie. I'm guessing most who have seen it would agree that it might have been better to wait and see it on dvd or on a premium channel.

    Lily Lily Julia Julia

    by ghomer

The main female leads were great. The rest of the cast was dragging the film down with either boring writing or uninspired acting, either of which doomed this fairy tale to middling status. Go see it for the beauty of Julia and Lily then hope the pop corn is good at your favorite theater, have some kernels and a pop and then have a decent dinner with someone you like to help you get over the disappointment.

    Mirror mirrors beautifully

Quite enjoyable and fun. A bit scary when they are in the woods and things are jumping around in the trees but the rest is fine for the smaller children in your life. A nice reversal of roles. I thought it would be more funny than it was ~ the trailers captured most of the jokes. Julia does a great meanie.... and Lily will be seen far and wide after this movie. Very luminous indeed.

    Mirror Mirror

    by fojo131

After reading all the negative reviews we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as bad as the critics said it would be. Took my 9 year old granddaughter and we really enjoyed it. Julia Roberts was great as was the supporting cast. Nothing objectionable so feel free to take the kids although 4 and under might find it hard to get into

    Costumes were beautiful.

    Mirror, Mirror

Was very surprised by how well made this movie was. I brought my 6 year old daughter and her best friend and they both enjoyed it as well, especially the song video at the end of the movie!

    Awesome film!!!

    by

I didn't know what to expect with this film. All I knew was that Julia Roberts was playing the Queen . In the end,I am so happy that I went to see this movie tonight. Its everything I want in a film, the visuals, acting, sword fighting, and an awesome ending that I did not expect! I totally recommend this film to anyone. I was never a fan of the Disney Snow White but this version is hip and fun. Go see it and make sure to stay at the end. :)

    Timeless Tale Remake

Movie was OK but I loved the young lady that played Snow, the young man that played the Prince and the Dwarfs were comical. Julia Roberts was so-so, Nathan Lane was Fabulous!

    could be better

Julia Roberts was good as the queen and Snow White was Ok , The prince was a waste of time. The drawfs were almost the best part of the movie. I would not go to see again or would I buy the dvd when is released.

Love the characters, but it seemed lacking

    by

I watched this movie with some girlfriends. I got a few laughs out of it, but it seemed a little dry in the beginning. It did pick up near the end. I know the story so I was hoping for some cohesive twists, but some of the twists just didn't make sense to me. It was a great ending, but I won't go to see it again in the theaters. I don't know what I was hoping for. I think I felt like it would have been better on the TV screen? I hate to give this a so so rating but it really was just ok. Was hoping more for my heart strings to be pulled a bit more. I'd watch it again on video though.

The movie started out a little too slow and never caught up. I did not like the overall theme of the movie; departed a little from the original fairy tale. It lagged interest in many places. Overall, I would give this movie a 3 star rating; better to wait and see it on video rental. My 10 year old grandaughter seemed to like it ; but not much.
