    Great Experience for Fans

Sitting back and watching this movie (again) on the big screen forced a wonderful recall of 1999 memories (including camping out for tickets). While just a bit long on the dialogue, it does a good job of revisiting the past and setting foundation for the entire Star Wars saga. This delivery of 3D was actually one of the best ones I've seen. It wasn't forced and did a good job of complementing the special effects. The final battle scenes did pop out even more so in the new technology. I'd recommend this movie for fans and for those interested in seeing how the entire saga started.

    It was So-So

I am truly a Star Wars fan but was disappointed with Friday's showing. I was expecting it to be IMAX viewing. I think they could of done a better job of making it a WOW moment.

Absolutely terrible. Terrible script, terrible acting.... ugh!! That was so much money for such a BAD movie! Only two good scenes the fight with Darth Mull and the race.

Phantom Menace 3D - Awesome Afternoon with my son!

I was a Star Wars person as a kid....sharing it again with my son was a special memory. The effects were awesome and we had a great time. It is a great way to have an experience with a kid that brings some of your own past experience into the day. Take a kid! The 3D was a great and fun addition.

    Not great

    by

I took my 4 year old daughter to see the movie. She enjoyed it as I thought she would. I enjoyed the 25 percent of this LONG movie that was interesting and fun. So much of it was not great in my opinion. But, I'm a sucker for light sabers and Yoda and big screen battles... and I knew my daughter would enjoy Jar Jar. I think that you'd have to be around 4 years old to enjoy Jar Jar.

Same ol movie but still fun

    I enjoyed myself but honestly didn't see where 3D did all that much. However, I am not a big 3D fan. It has been long enough that I'd forgotten some of the movie. So all in all I enjoyed it but not really because it was in 3D. Unlike others, I giggled and Jarjar. :-}

Star Wars 3D Remake better than expected...but a little dark

Same great movie in 3D. I was expecting to see 2.5D w/flat layers of the people images, but while not extremely eye-popping it was very well done. Only comment is they don't up the brightness to make up for the darker glasses.

    Fail

Went along with family members to see this, just to be a good sport. This movie is a mess of CGI, horrible story, horrible dialog, horrible pacing and horrible editing. There are moments where the adult viewer realizes "okay...maybe this is a little kids' movie", only to realize after a few minutes that it fails as a kids movie because of the attempts to appeal to adults and be dramatic....which in and of themselves fail because they are overly simplified, like a kids movie. It's just a never ending circle of failure. Kids movie that fails as an adult movie, adult movie that fails as a kids movie...blech.

Fun to take my son but the 3D wasn't very impressive ...

My 4-year old loves Star Wars (the parts we've let him see at least) so taking him to see it on the big screen was a real treat. I, too, love Star Wars and enjoyed watching it on the big screen again.

On the other hand, I don't think the 3D was really worth the effort. I would have preferred merely re-releasing the "original" (it feels odd to refer to the latter trilogy as some sort of original ... so be it) ...

    Star Wars: Episode I - 3D

I am a fan so of course I liked it and won't be as objective as some. The Phantom Menace is my least favorite of the six movies but I don't miss an opportunity to see anything Star Wars on the BIG screen. The 3D was just SO-SO. Before I saw Avatar, I would have enjoyed it more but since Avatar redifined 3D for me, I can't say I was impressed. There were certainly moments where the 3D was convincing but overall, it wasn't a big improvement for me over the original.

    BAD MOVIE EXPERIENCE

    by

I took my 5 year old to see this movie. He LOVES Star Wars. Our problem was we got to the AMC Regal Theater at 6:30 for the 7pm showing. We watched an hour of previews. The actual movie started at 7:35! By 7:50 he was bored and tired. We left at 7:55.

The movie previews are out of control. They ruined a fun event.

This is the first Star Wars movie my 4 year old has ever seen... He loved it!! The space ships and the action was great in 3D!

Brings the wow factor again to movies

I had high expectations for this and they were delivered. the 3-D in the pod race was awesome. i saw this with a buddy and we were amazed because it looked so cool on the big screen. This movie is for all ages and is great to take your kids who havent experienced star wars in theater. even the the 3-D might have not been good in all parts of thw movie, the HD was enough for me to keep me going through the movie and being a true Star Wars fan i noticed that they added in more scenes which made it even better. The story was as good as it was in 1999. i think this movie would be great to see it with the family

Horrible Release - 3D & Audio very poor

I like Star Wars & even liked Episode I when it originally came out. I did not like this movie.

Reviewing the quality of this release only, I give this movie a 2 out of 10. Love or hate the story, the 3D and audio quality was horrible.

Worst 3D film I've ever seen. About 40% of the scenes were 3D. It was a very poor conversion to 3D. The pod race scene was the best 3D part of the movie. Otherwise most 3D scenes were people standing and talking. Dimensions of depth were added to people and various objects, but it does not pop like genuine 3D video.

The audio was the worst audio I've seen in a theater in decades. When the words "Star Wars" opened, I was disappointed the words didn't pop in 3D, but I was very upset the audio was nearly monotone. The previews and commercials' audio blew this movie's audio out of the water. The pod race scene convinced me it was at least 2.1 channel stereo.

    Star Wars Phantom Menace 3D

It was okay, I seen it before on t.v. but not with 3D. It was diffirent. I would say it was very expensive to see the movie. I would like to know why they don't pay the same price if it was a regiular movie, i believe its 7.00 dollars and this one was 11.00 dollars. Now with the economy the way it is I don't see how people can afford it. OMG, the stuff you buy for the kids to eat that highway robbery, a liter of water 8.00 dollars, come guys I know you have to make money but think of the times. I'll be waiting for movies to come on t.v.
