    Skyfall

    by

In many ways, James Bond goes back to his roots in Skyfall. I saw this with my wife as part of our annual New Year's Eve treat and we both thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced movie with a message. The theme it explores is quite separate from the Bond saga - what does it mean to grow old and no longer be suited to the job which was your whole identity. Both M and Bond face this dilemma and both deal with it in different ways. Superb storytelling and excellent acting combine to make a film that stands on its own outside the genre but contains plenty of the tried and tested elements that make Bond a perennial favorite.

    Skyfall

Movie was just OK. Usual 007 Action scenes which were good but not many Gadgets. Movie was rather Dark and seemed to drag on a bit about 007's past as a child. If a 007 fan it is worth seeing but would not watch the movie a second time.

    Bond now and then

A terrific mix of the old and new, with Javier Bardem as a deliciously demented villain, Skyfall felt very much like end of one chapter and the start of a new one. Featuring breathtaking action sequences, a traditional Bond theme song supplied by Adele, one of the better scripts ever written for a Bond film where every character has an arc and intention, and some of the most spectacular cinematography ever shot for an action film, Skyfall is a 10. Mendes and the writers were able to reintroduce many old standards of the Bond series and give them a modern twist. It uses the 50-year history of these characters to stir the emotions in the viewer.
Skyfall is a true James Bond adventure that surpasses nearly every other film in the franchise. Even at over 2 hours, Skyfall never felt like it dragged and it was an exciting, entertaining film.

Wake me up when it's over

They ran out of fresh ideas.
    Done before:

Two men fighting on top of moving train
Two men ducking when going thru tunnel on moving train
    Man surviving 1000ft fall
Chase scene on roofs in Istanbul were same ones used in Liam Neesan's new movie
Car chase on streets in Istanbul also just done

Bond was a dead fish in this movie and NOT attractive at all. Neither were his women.

too long and rather boring British Humour...

I understand the director's POV. Instead of the Whiz/Pop/Bang of the Pierce Brosman era (exploding pen), 007 wants to create a more "Bourne Identity" type movie, which is OK. It worked well in Casiona Royale.

However....this is just way too long. No sexy bond girls either!! ...and it's soooo boring. like c'mon and just kill the bad guy already!!!

    Skyfall

Really liked the movie. Lots of action and suspense. Saw it twice. At one point, (walking on the beach) Daniel looked a little stiff. Really would have like to have seen who saved from from death by bullet and drowning. Action and Adventure is the name of the game.

    Skyfall

Best Bond yet. Craig owns the role in the modern era and Javier Bardem is a great villain. As usual, don't miss the first 15 minutes.

    Ian does it again.

If you are a true Bond fan and have seen all the films you'll love the nostalgia of a few scenes. Also, the beginning credits were amazing!

    Falling for Bond

I'm not a big Bond fan, but saw this movie because it's part of my quest to see every possible Oscar-nominated film before the awards in February. I won't give anything away, but I do want to say that the first 15-minutes were some of the most exhiliarating I've seen in cinema this year. So much fun and quite intense! The movie dragged a bit in the second half-hour, but picked up again from the second extended fight scene and was well-paced from there on. Bond's character was fleshed-out a bit so I became more invested in his story. The cinematography was excellent in places, but especially breathtaking once they reached their final destination. A must for every Bond fan and a good ride for the casual movie fan.

    A Thrill A Minute

SkyFall was fabulous! If you are looking for entertainment, this is it!
I liked how the movie portrayed Bond and M in a way that showed their vulnerabilities and
feelings. I intend to see this movie again. There are so many parts that almost make you jump right out of your seat. Quite a few great one-liners, too. I highly recommend this movie. You are sure to love it!

    Skyfall

While "Casino Royale" still is the best in the Daniel Craig Bond series, Skyfall is just below it. The story was fantastic, Craig once again shines and old friends return!!! I can't recommend this movie enough!

    Epic

Definitely better than Quantum of Solace. Going back to the roots of the James Bond Film series. Extremely exciting and appealing to anyone who is in the mood for a classic action film.

Good Closure for Bond, Rough Transition for M

As always loved the movie; you can never get tired of Bond.
And the Intro was exceptionally amazing. (Bravo Adele and graphics team)
This movie brought a good amount of closure to bonds life for fans, but
I didn't particularly like how they handled the end. Over all I loved it
especially Silva, and bond. ;) lol

Great on the big screen! Not Your Typical Bond Movie

Wow, I have to say I was really surprised a just how much I loved this movie. The plot, the action, and the fact that it wasn't a typical Bond Movie ... was a curve ball I enjoyed. Totally worth seeing!!

    Got to go!

You have got to go see Skyfall. After a typical "bond-like" beginning chase scene, it settles down into a great story that surprisingly puts things back into a familiar perspective.
