    new flavor to James Bond

    by JW59615

i was rather impressed because i went to this movie expecting the normal James Bond style movie however Skyfall seemed to have a darker thyme and dove deeper in to James' past, Skyfall also really exposed alot about the character development of James Bond of the decades.

    Good Movie

Did not know what Skyfall was until I saw it. Not a lot of high tech gadgits. British Intellegence, They must be on a budget now

Action Packed, but still missing that Bondish Feel

Daniel Craig is as good of a James Bond as there is. But since he started doing Bond movies, they don't seem to be using the original formula anymore. Bond is no longer the womanizer and the cool gadgets are all gone. It's all action-only now. I'm still a fan though!

Skyfall was an exciting Bond Film and Craig willl Go Down as one Perhaps the Best 007

    by judae1

This film was fun, exciting and kept moving. At every turn, Daniel Craig as Bond is certainly the best Bond since Connery. The movie did not rely on high technology and gimmicks as many action films do, and it echoed the past Bond films with classic charm, wit and a darkness of the kind that makes you fear for the things we do not know about evils that exist.

Using basic, home made weapons and the flashback to the vintage Aston Martin with the eject button made it exciting and unpredictable.

Loved the film, loved the depth of the characters. Javier Bardem was the kind of psychopath that we used to love about Bond films. The story was a little weak, but that did not keep it from being played well.

The landscape shots, the desolate countryside shots, the riveting action shots all kept it interesting.

I believe Connery made the role and Pierce Brosnan was my second favorite. Daniel Craig takes that spot

    Usual Daniel Craig Bond Movie

    Hi Guyz,

Dont expect anything 'bond like' in this movie either, just like all previous Daniel Craig bond movies. The action is decent though. MI6 faces threat from one of their own agents when Bond goes all out to protect 'M' and his agency.

    Exciting From Start to Finish

The graphics were spectacular. Mind-blowing sequences throughout the movie. However, I would have liked James Bond was more than a superhero, fighting machine. I think the film could have used some romance and better development of the characters.

4.5 out of 5 Jolly Goods!

    by dhatty

ThIs movie worked for me & I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a big fan of Daniel Craig as Bond at first, but in Skyfall, he conveyed what was probably closer to the Bond in Ian Fleming's mind when he imagined the character. Craig is understated and seemingly more vulnerable, more like a real person would be and less of the cockier almost super hero type Bond in many prior Bond movies.
Dont get me wrong, I loved those Bonds too, but this one is different and somewhat more touchable in a human sense. The action was not over the top in a science fiction sort of way, the scenarios were arguably more plausible in my view. That was a theme of the movie too, seeming to want to pull James back into reality a little more with an emphasis on more conventional and less sci fi stuff. Would have liked to see more sexy, racy scenes with the Bond women, but again, I think there was an effort to reign that in a bit to deepen the character this time & emphasize the more normal & mundane Bond aspects.

    SKYFALL

    by fred1

I've seen every Bond film ever made and this one fell short. The best part of the film was when Adele sang "Skyfall" with all the creative artwork that was reminensant of the old Bond films. Those films had a distinctive Bond girl and this film didn't. All Bond villians are suppose to be evil but this one was portrayed as gay and sick. In my opinion, this negatively effected the film. The revenge angle against M failed and so did the "last stand" at Skyfall estate. They tried to incorporate some old and new and I think it failed. Daniel Craig didn't seem on top of his game either. Casino Royale was a classic and he was fabulous but not here. The shooting scene was unrealistic and therefore didn't seam real. The film really didn't stand a chance due to improper scripts and directing. Go if you must but you will be disappointed.

Bond is BACK! Great fun all around

A great return to the Bond movies of old. Great action, wonderful crazed villain, sexy ladies without explicit sex, and tongue frequently planted firmly in cheek. I also noted homage to a number of other thriller movies, from The French Connection, to Speed, to Die Hard, to Home Alone(!!), and some very definite references to the Bond movies of old. Good for all ages.

If you're a Bond fan, you already know it's a "can't miss". If not, this could well change your mind. Go see it.

    Skyfall

    by pankjer

The best Bond ever. It's so different from the previous movies. It has action, humor and something you usually don't see in a Bond movie, heart and soul. A very powerful performance by Craig. The best part is that it comes full circle. Definitely, check out this movie.

Some excellent tributes to "Classic Bond" -- Top notch directing

Very good movie -- though not the best Bond ever -- no one does it like Connery, in this writer's opinion. However, Daniel Craig is very good and Skyfall does not disappoint. Frequent Bond-watchers will enjoy the many "shout outs" to classic Bond and even the main villain seems right out of the 1960's era gallery of bad guys. I would have liked a little more kitschy humor -- that's always part of Bond for me. The movie is long, but not so much that you're looking at your watch -- everything moves along. The directing is certainly world class -- the sequences shot in a skyscraper in Shanghai were among the most amazing visually in any movie I've ever seen. I also loved the opening credits (strange, right?) -- they featured some really amazing animation sequences and I would pay to see more of them -- it's hard to explain until you've seen the movie.

    We are not amused

I get it, character development, history, staying true to Ian and all that, but there was almost NOTHING I didn't see coming, which is not why I go to see Bond films. Hackneyed is a compliment. This could've been the best storyline I've seen, and, of course, the acting by what I consider the best Bond and supporting cast was well done, but it seems the scriptwriters and the director were simply not up to the job. I understand that this was to set up the next film, but I'm pretty sure I'll wait for that one until it comes with commercials on my tele. Such a shame, Mr. Craig.

    Everything Old Is New Again

Grew up watching 007 in all his incarnations and each reboot had its merits and flaws. With control of the franchise remaining in the Broccoli family, there's been reliable continuity in the level of action, the clever quips, the "girls", the "Amazing Race" locales, and the triumph of Bond over evil. Skyfall felt stripped down, efficient and raw. With less wizardry and more pure brains and brawling brashness, Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes show Bond thinking and feeling as he confronts his past and contemplates his future. More Judi Dench is always a good thing and her mommy-mentor-master relationship with Bond and the divine Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva is wonderful to see unfold. And adding Ralph Fiennes into the mix was a brilliant cherry on top.
