Skyfall-ing somewhere in the middle for me
by
Skyfall marks Daniel Craig's third take on the classic Bond character and he brings much the same this time around as he has the first two times: that icy demeanor, ruthless stares, and unbelievable ways to take down a group of villains. That being said, Skyfall is certainly better than Quantum of Solace which was good, but definitely no where near as satisfying and exciting as Casino Royale. Casino will always be the recipient of some measure of fondness because of its original direction with the Bond films (i.e. picking up from the beginning and showing the formation of the 007 we've all come to know). I was hoping that Skyfall would capture some more of that magic than it did, but it had more than enough to justify going to the theaters to see it. To a certain extent the movie seemed like a bit of an effort to keep the seat warm for the next Bond film, introducing some new faces and what not. While perhaps Skyfall is not the absolute best Bond movie, it is really quite good.
