    new flavor to James Bond

    by JW59615

i was rather impressed because i went to this movie expecting the normal James Bond style movie however Skyfall seemed to have a darker thyme and dove deeper in to James' past, Skyfall also really exposed alot about the character development of James Bond of the decades.

    The Best Bond Yet!

You don't need to be a bona-fide Bond fan to love this film - but if you are then you will really love it! (Although I am sad about one aspect but will not spoil it...) Can't wait for the Bond 24!

    SkyFall - 007

Skyfall delivers all the thrills and action of a 007 film, but it is also compelling for non-Bond fans since the series is more into character development since Daniel Craig became Bond. I think this is a film that you can take a non-fan to and everyone will enjoy it.

    SKYFALL is Good

2.75 out of 5 Stars for me. Enjoyed it. The setting of this double notch MI6Flick is today. There is tech involved, but this is one of the most un-tech Bond movies thus far. There's even a minimum of adult oriented content. If it wasn't Bond, it would be just another story weave of intrigue, car chase and action...sorta. The producers clearly decided to get rid of anything "Old-Bond"- Skyfall is clearly new Bond and post the Ian Fleming books.

I'd say it's an interim story refit. Next one(s) will hopefully be..more within the new groove this film set up.

    Bond meets Rambo

Whatever it is -- it is not a Bond movie.

It is a high quality, fast paced action movie. Good story -- Judy Dench is great (as usual), Craig more action than acting (as usual). So it is a great movie for an action filled afternoon. Recommend highly if this is what you want.

On the other hand, it is not a Bond movie - no big ideas, no big plots, no breath taking innovation, no romance and charm of the character that started with Connery and got fulfilled in Brosnan. Skyfall is the result of an experiment where you take away all aspects of Bond from a Bond movie.

It is a movie for you if you are for a high quality action adventure -- but not if you are a Bond fan.

Restoring original Bond suspense and action

From the franchise standard action packed opening sequence to the plot twists found in London, Shanghai and Scotland, this Bond was a throw back to the 007's of the 1960's. Daniel Craig emulates an aging MI6 agent dealing with the agony of a lost childhood, deteriorating skills and addictions that effect his mental sharpness. The atypical Bond villain played by Javier Bardem was fascinating. He brought a coolness and intellect that challenged 007 in his pursuit to protect Queen and Country. Skyfall left me wanting more Bond and with great anticipation of the next chapter.

    The hidden past of 007...

Skyfall presents Bond at a depth which he has rarely been seen. A cliffhanger opening leads to a journey into Bond's distant past where no audience has seen him. The double-O agent has encounters with varied characters from different chapters of his life. We see the return of two of Bond's closest allies "for the first time". And James puts his mettle to the test as he fights against Time's inevitable effect on his skill as a spy and a soldier. The story builds on the foundations of the early Bond films, bringing classic elements into play of style, intrigue, technology, and peril. Buckle up and hold on for the drop into Skyfall.

    Excellent

    by mjyork

Never have I seen a more entertaining bond movie. They brought back the old bond characters with a twist. They even bring back some old favorite gadgets for the end of the movie. You are always guessing where they'll take you scene to scene so it makes the movie quite a thrill ride. It's a must see.

    SKYFALL

    by fred1

I've seen every Bond film ever made and this one fell short. The best part of the film was when Adele sang "Skyfall" with all the creative artwork that was reminensant of the old Bond films. Those films had a distinctive Bond girl and this film didn't. All Bond villians are suppose to be evil but this one was portrayed as gay and sick. In my opinion, this negatively effected the film. The revenge angle against M failed and so did the "last stand" at Skyfall estate. They tried to incorporate some old and new and I think it failed. Daniel Craig didn't seem on top of his game either. Casino Royale was a classic and he was fabulous but not here. The shooting scene was unrealistic and therefore didn't seam real. The film really didn't stand a chance due to improper scripts and directing. Go if you must but you will be disappointed.

Skyfall: What?s With All These Goddamn Kids

I?m getting older, and despite the fact he?s been around for 50 years, James Bond never seems to age. Or, rather, until this movie. It?s awesome to see Bond wearing around the edges. And while we are living in the future, the old ways are still relevant, and suave as hell.

Don?t get me wrong, Bond still gets more *** than a NYC subway seat, wears tailor-made suits and drives sweet-*** cars that make men wet.

I?ve had the proverbial 6-foot-erection-with-a-cheeseburger-on-the-tip man crush on James Bond right from the beginning. There are lots of scenes in Skyfall that play homage to the classic stories. Fans who?ve been watching since Sean Connery swaggered onto the screen will appreciate them. At the same time you don?t need to have seen any of the previous movies to enjoy Skyfall. There?s plenty of new blood for new fans to dig into.

    Not up to Bond snuff

Tried to create an intrest in Q and bond's relationship. Didn't quite work. If you are a real bond fan might as well see it. If not Pass on it.

    Everything Old Is New Again

Grew up watching 007 in all his incarnations and each reboot had its merits and flaws. With control of the franchise remaining in the Broccoli family, there's been reliable continuity in the level of action, the clever quips, the "girls", the "Amazing Race" locales, and the triumph of Bond over evil. Skyfall felt stripped down, efficient and raw. With less wizardry and more pure brains and brawling brashness, Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes show Bond thinking and feeling as he confronts his past and contemplates his future. More Judi Dench is always a good thing and her mommy-mentor-master relationship with Bond and the divine Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva is wonderful to see unfold. And adding Ralph Fiennes into the mix was a brilliant cherry on top.
