Skyfall - Retelling of Bond's Story Now Complete

Having seen most of the earlier versions of Bond, this is by far the best. Why? Character development and believable portrayal. This Bond, this villain, this M all take their characters to a deeper level. You can see the circumstances that led them to be who they are, and feel for them all the more because of it. It's less about being 'hot and sexy', less about 'cool gadgets and cars' and all about human motivation; what drives people beyond their ordinary (or not-so-ordinary) limitations to reach beyond themselves to reach their goals, good or bad. That is what makes this movie a keeper. Not for little kids, no nudity or gratuitous sex scenes. There is violence.

    007

I very much enjoyed this film. The movie intro graphics made me feel like I was watching a mystery series show. I loved how this movie has much more depth and meaningful subject than the other two former ones with Dainel Craig. This movie fits well for adults and young adults. Go watch it if you have not already done so!

Action Packed Bond Movie-007 Lives Up to Expectation

This movies has the expected great plot and action to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. Stunts were visually stimulating and the venue for the shoot was very good. Again, most of the expected sexual scenes were predictable. Bond kept many women viewers happy as he removed his shirt more times than necessary.

All in all, the movie was worth the price of ticket. I commented to wife after the movie how easily entertained American movie-goers are. Explosions, murders, blood-shed, fast cars, faster women, and sex keeps most viewers returning to the theatre seeking to forget all things they go to movies to see. Hooray for HOLLYWOOD!

Fantastic, definitely go if you have the chance

With the huge 007 franchise, this one is definitely one of THE best James Bond movie. Reference to old days movies, the elusive idea of educating us James Bond's childhood and Javier was just outstanding.

    Best Bond so far

    by gebhard

Great mix between the "new" Bond and the "old" story. Very well played and in the end brings back some of the original "classics", Miss Moneypenny, "M" is male again .........

    Missed the mark

Just like Bond missing the target after being shot this movie missed on all the key point of seeing a Bond movie. He didn't save the world. He didn't save the girl. The enemy wasn't clever or intelligent. There was no passion or heat. There was no chemistry at all. Even the theme song was forgettable.

A salute to the old school James Bond!

Skyfall was action pack, but not a video game CGI crazy movie. The homage to the old school James Bond flicks of Sean Connery were really satisfying. The last two Daniel Craig bonds are more dramatic and soulful. It is a bit of a departure from the old formula, but it works very well. You see more of a tormented Bond, a dark side of the espionage he is involved in. Alone with only his work to affirm his existence. The new Bond delves into this dark side and a more emotionally filled movie is on the screen. Perhaps it is the nature of the movie making, you have alter the formula for success even a good one like James Bond. Just don't do like Coke, there is no going back to the CGI and superfluous scripts!! Must See!!

A Bond of a different sort

    by DWCouch

Skyfall was a very different Bond movie. I'd like to re-watch Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace to compare. Yes, Craig has brought a fresh contemporary and relevant aspect to the Bond franchise, but this one in particular was... a turning point. In a word. Personal.

This movie had it all. A must see.

    Skyfall

    by Lugan

Definitely a worthy addition to the Bond franchise. Though it has a darker tone than many other Bond flicks, the excellent camera work, crisp dialogue and seamless action sequences makes the two and a half hour length fly by. Having seen all the movies in this series, this rates in the top 3.

    BEST 007 EVER

    by stmad12

By a long margin this is the best 007 there ever was. It gets to be really intense, and it is totally worth the $10. Good culmination, can't wait for the next 007

    Best Bond Movie Yet

Hands down, this is the Best Bond movie yet. The Broccoli family did it again; the gadgets, locations and chase scenes were fascinating and intense. Who would have thought, James Bond is actually vulnerable. The story lines for each of the characters was intriguing and it was a bittersweet ending. Javier Bardem's character was an unexpected pleasure to watch.

    Old School

For those who think that the Bond films died a long time ago; I think not.
Sure, there is that amount of CHEESE that we will always (and hope) to see in the Bond Franchise. But as the movie and storyline go, thumbs up.
It was wonderful to see the past come alive with not only the equipment used (aka Aston-Martin DB5), but the villain goes back to the old days (just no white cat).
Everybody would love to see something so different and new, that they are begging for it. The problem is that we have almost exhausted all avenues. You can tell this by all the re-releases going on, or the remakes of all the classic movies.
Anyway, go see this movie if you are a fan of the franchise. I know that I am.

    Not Your Grandmother's Bond

I am not a "true" fan of James Bond, and always thought the premise put forward by the original films was a bit tongue-in-cheek and flimsy. However, this movie is enjoyable for any audience member, not just those who are initiates into Bond Lore. The film is well written, the action is original and well paced. The usual Bond plot arc is changed so it doesn't lose freshness. But true fans will be acknowledged too. There are a few awkward plot points, particularly having to do with the films' newest villain. Javier's character is lost in many ways because of its strange eccentricities. You feel like he didn't really know which direction to take the character. Understandable, because the character is twisted in a confusing way. Nonetheless, fans of James Bond and non-fans alike should enjoy the film's sleek and dynamic approach. It is trimmed down in all the right places and focuses on what we typically don't see in these films: the vulnerability and flaws of a normal human being.

With all the hype I was expecting a very good movie. This did not live up to the 007 movies of the past. Very slow throughout the movie. Long movie could have been cut down to 90 minutes without missing a beat. Needed much more action to keep me interested for over 2 hours. Save your money wait till it comes on TV.
