    Hmmmmm.....

I could sum up this review quickly by simply stating that I fell asleep three times during the film and my fiancee slept the entire 2nd half but I'll elaborate a bit more just to be clear that it wan't the 12 am showing or exhaustion that put us out. Lets start with one positive. People can say whatever they want about Daniel Craig being too old but that man is a straight up phenom... Total bad *** both physically and character wise. So ridiculous to hear people call him washed up etc etc and being too old to bang young bond girls etc etc but the plain truth of the matter is when he takes off the clothes a true specimen presents itself. It makes me wonder what the people talking crap about him look like naked now that I think about it! Bottom line Daniel Craig was pretty much the only interesting part of the entire film. His acting is top notch as usual. Negatives: Zero cool cars or gadgets. The new Q really sucks. Plot lacks substance. Decent drama but not a 007 style movie. Next....

The Skyfell and Still Bond Rose From the Ashes

Skyfall has all the fast paced car chase; bang bang, gunplay; brutal hand-to-hand combat; and free-loven sexual escapades one would come to expect from a Bond film. Skyfall is a good film as much as it is a good action movie. It manages to delve into Bonds motivation, background, and psyche more than any other Bond before it. It has several interlaced themes that are well played out and pay off in a satisfying way in the end. It is a story of orphaned children and what happens to them when they are abandoned, the sacrifice and fight for what matters to you, the strength to overcome obstacles even when you are not at your best, and the question of 007's relevance in today's tech-dominant world. Also to mark the 50th anniversary of Bond films they make sure to drop a number of tributes to the history that came before Daniel Craig's run like Connory's original Aston Martin, the reintroduction of Bond staples like "Q" and Moneypenny and the use of a few overtly placed one-liners. Must Go!

    Very good

Opening scene is about as good as it gets! Unmistakably BOND. The movie cruises at a decent pace and right when you think you have it figured out, in comes the villain. From that point on, it is ON!!

    Solid Bond Movie.

A must see even if you think the Bond movies of were corny in the past. Enjoyed the way the writers make fun of the gadgets. .

    SkyFall Soars

The believability factor increased tremendously as Agent OO7 became a humanized modern character with weaknesses and faults that did not detract from his character it truly enhanced his screen presence. The plot was the standard good guys versus bad men with engrossing elements of the complex dance between the protangonists and antagonists. The draw on and salute to former James Bond historical details was exciting and refreshing for diehard fans. The entwined third wheel of M and her shadowy unknowns was a subplot that skillfully morphed right into the main plot with thoughtful smooth nuances that made for entertaining movie making from beginning to end!

    An 11 out of 10

I'm 57 years old and have seen every Bond Movie to date, but with out a doubt , Skyfall just blew me away! Absolutely the best Bond Flick yet. Excellent story line, even showed us a bit of James childhood, lots of unexpected surprises that made the movie as excellent as it is. I won't use adjectives such as Good or Very Good, the latest installment of the Bond Series was , EXCELLENT , will go see again, I think

    Skyfall

    by

Skyfall was great. I love the exotic locations and beautiful women etc. But, I really loved the scenes in London, especially inside M16, new and er...temporary. It was great to have a plot that wasn't so complicated you didn't know what the heck was going on. This was just kill or be killed.
Only two things bothered me. Javier Badem came into the movie way too late.and M really disappointed me in the action sequences. I don't want to be a spoiler but one would think the lady would have been smart enough to dive for cover a little quicker.
Javier Badem was totally wonderful. Creepy, funny, dead on scary. His finale was over the top but he played it too perfection. You actually felt badly for him for a nano-second .
Daniel Craig was at his best when he was at his worst. The battered agent who soldiers on...Good show, Ol' Bean!
The new bad Bond girl...ho-hum. Maybe if tey had a bit more interaction I might have cared. The good Bond girl....very interesting.

    A Fifty Year Circle

True fans of the Bond series will agree that each successive Bond is compartmentalized into "that Bond", and Daniel Craig is no different. But where he really shines is in bringing a keen edge to the special agent that hasn't been seen in another Bond. It is easy to develop an espionage agent, but the skill of a writer comes through when you begin to care about the character on a level beyond their job description.

Skyfall brings James Bond down to a human level that the audience relates to. We get an insight into his past, his professional relationship with Judy Dench's "M", and a great spy thriller to boot. Javier Bardem's portrayal of Silva is much less of a crime sindicate mastermind and more of a renegade agent/tech supergenius hybrid: a real anti-Bond.

Fans of the series will see a return to the old days with familiar scene set ups, props, and characters not seen since the days of Connery. There is everything to like about this film for fans of the old and the new alike.

    Skyfall: Good but not Great

***No real spoilers to speak of***

Skyfall is, in every aspect, a good James Bond movie. I liked it. There are chase scenes, hand-to-hand combat, quirky gadgets (kind of), Bond girls, villains, beautiful scenery, and of course, James Bond. But I feel like all of these elements were just placed there. I didn't feel any grounding into the story or the interactions between the elements. I know that would have made the movie 4 hrs long, but I would have gladly traded some of the fluff for a bit more backstory on some characters.

So as I said, this is a "good" Bond movie but not a "great" Bond movie. Worth the price of admission...once.

    It's fricking awesome in here.....

    by sarj

Skyfall is a great movie! A great story in which Daniel Craig puts his stamp on the Bond franchise. Sam Mendes brings a fresh realism to the storytelling whilst including all the elements expected in a classic bond film. Phenomenal casting which sets up the franchise in goodstead for the future. A must see for all Bond fans.

Doesn't live up to the hype

    by mrachow

We had high expectations before seeing the latest Bond film. This movie had no flow. The plot was deep, but had little substance to it. Ending felt flat. Not as good as past Bond films, especially Casino Royal.

    Simply Fantastic!

Saying it's the best yet sounds trite. All Bond movies in their own right are fantastic. This one is simply over the top in all facets. Don't miss it!

    Not Bond's Best

Went into this film with high expectations: Sam Mendes directing, unusually high critic reviews, and Mr. Bardhem as the title villain. However, I was disappointed, overall. Mendes direction is scattered at best. I feel like he wasn't really sure what tone and pacing he was going for. The story itself was a bit weak despite a strong performance and unique villain in Silva's character. The action pieces were fairly standard fare for Bond movies. The movie moved along at a formulaic, quick pace, with the one-liners and fight scenes flying by. However, the third act just killed it all. The pacing died, the story and tone totally shifted and none of it worked. Themes were delved into that were not central to the first two acts and the "Home Alone" sequence was just not 007. Other themes were heavy-handed, particularly the old-fashioned/old dog scenes. The cinematography is just all over the place, and handles the scenes poorly at best. Entertaining but Casino Royale is better.
