    SKYFALL

    by LizzyGD

I had not been to a James Bond movie in years, but LOVED it! Great story, lots of action, of course, and several twists. MUST GO!

    Another Solid Bond Movie

Another good Bond movie that follows the same basic formula as all of the others, but with a few twists. The basics are all there. A chase scene at the beginning, an evil villain who wants to control the world from his island hideout, a beautiful temptress who leads Bond to the mastermind, a scene in a stunning hotel with a casino (shaken not stirred), lots of action as Bond tracks the villain, M calling the shots with Q providing technical assistance, and the giant explosion scene at the end. This one ends a little differently (he doesn't get the girl) but the film sets the stage for the next chapter in the Bond series with some new characters. I loved the throwback scene with the Aston Martin and the old music. There has always been something a little bit off with Daniel Craig as Bond, but I guess no one can ever replace Sean Connery. Overall, I rate it a good solid 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Skyfall is worth the long wait

    by

Probably the best of all the Bond movies. Great movie to celebrate 50 years of Bond, James Bond. Movie has seat on the edge of the seat acton and suspence. It had it's sad moment, but it pulled surprises from the past that kept Bond fans waxing nostalgia and the story was very put together by director Sam Mendes. A must see, especially those who have never seen a Bond film, this will win you over.

    Bond, but not great Bond

It's a Bond movie, so you know what you are getting. Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem were great, but the plot was a little silly even for Bond standards. Enjoyable, but don't expect Citizen Kane.

Go if u are a bond fan

Srcreenplay and direction was awesome and some of the action sequences. Storyline was edgy and I felt it was the weakest movie in the bond series. No gadgets, lot of drama(read dialogue with sentiments running high).

I yawned so many times.. Very unlikely for a Bond movie
A must go for a bond movie fans.

    I rate 3/5

Clever and nostalgic - but not great

    by gsher

Anyone who loves 007 will love this movie - though you have to be prepared tor an aged James Bond and a plot that is a little bit more plain (but more human) than, say, Octopussy. The cyber angle is more up to date but it is not exploited as well as it might have been - a little too politically correct, in terms of world politics, maybe. The striking resemblance of Daniel Craig to Vladimir Putin is somewhat disconcerting. Judi Dench is always magnificent but a little wooden. Clearly this is a trailer for a new generation of Bond films 50 (!!) years later and that is a good thing. In general, great fun and a promising prelude.

    The best Bond yet ...

    by

A great third edition in the Daniel Craig era, this 50th anniversary take was darker than expected, yet thrilling and provided a great tease toward the end for things to come. While the shameless product promotion at the beginning was comically obvious, at least it was tasteful in that they got it out of the way early. The real surprise in this installment was the background provided on several of the characters, new and old, which added to depth of this film in particular. Can't wait for the next one!!! We actually pre-ordered the BlueRay disk edition immediately after getting home from the theatre. Yes, it's that good! And Adele's voice and music was a superb fit. Should be several winners from this film come Oscar night.

BTW - my rating is MUST GO! - can't seem to change it ...

    Best Bond Yet!

    by KyChris

Filled with action, the villain actually has a good backstory and is intimidating. Very epic, seems like the finale of the bond series. M has a great part, so does James Bond, of course. Also shows a connection between 007 and Bond's childhood

This has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen! Rarely do you find a movie that is still on your mind the next day but this is one of those movies. Don't miss it! Action packed from start to finish - outstanding!

    Simply great film

One expects Skyfall to be great and one will not be disappointed. Action, intelligence, gorgeous backdrops, simply brilliant acting, special, special film. Not to be missed!

    Underwhelming

    by mike225

I saw the great reviews, and I was very excited about this movie. It didn't live up to expectations.

The action scenes were great, as expected, but the plot at some points was not believable and illogical.

It just didn't "grab" me like some other Bond, or action/adventure movies have in the past.

    Skyfall

    by ew395

Unlike expected 007 movie, it was filled with violence only with no wits and wow's. James Bod is dirty looking and old with some traumatic past childhood experience, not sexy British spy with futuristic electronic gadgets. Generally, it was a drag and boring. The girls are not so attractive either. It's a film with mundane violence. It's a no-go.

    Epic

    by john995

i haven't seen such a perfect blend of action and psychological thriller, and such depth in characters in a while. that Javier guy took the movie. i literally felt his character, and felt like i was there in the scenes.. the cinematography and special effects were epic. last movie i was compelled to write about was Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp, and wow is all i can say.. Oh , and M.. well you have to see!

    A Merrie Chase

    by skyfan

Skyfall is an interesting venture for Bond, one that I liked but others who were expecting a more traditional exposition may find less appealing. Certainly it has exotic locations, beautiful women, and action a-plenty, but the plot is what's different. It's "smaller", focusing on one man's quest for revenge and another man's quest for redemption rather than world domination or economic collapse. Therefore, it's also much more personal for Bond and others in his world.

The cinematography is first-rate, with stylistic beauty seldom seen in an action film, and a complicated but comprehensible script that unfolds in several layers that gives the viewers time to figure it out before the characters do and then wait for the mayhem to be delivered. And deliver it does; however in a way that's also plausible (no hollowed-out volcano craters this time) and at the same time brutal in its simplicity.

This isn't for everyone; but for fans of Bond it is a compelling chapter in his legend.

    Skyfall

Awesome movie!!! Love Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and of course Daniel Craig, he is the best modern Bond ever!! I loved the mix of old/new, Sam Mendes did a great job directing, scenery was spectacular, loved a small glimpse into Bond's life, not a movie I would take small children to, (under 14 that is)anticipating the next movie, don't make us wait too long...
