    James Bond New Generation

The movie is a very good action flick but IMHO has departed from the traditional James Bond heritage. Quite frankly without giving away details, Skyfall was treated as a springboard for changes in future characters and to setup what seems to be a new generation of James Bond sequels. If you're expecting a lot of gadgets you will be disappointed as with the previous 2 Daniel Craig James Bond installments. For some reason, the movie doesn't grab me with a satisfying bite. It's funny, almost 2013 and Mission Impossible clearly has more technological edge than James Bond.

It's still worth seeing as we did with family and friends but you won't lose anything if you wait for it in dvd. I know a lot of people will disagree with me but that's why we have our own individual take on the movie and this is mine.

    Good Bond movie but...

This was mostly a great Bond movie but there were some unrealistic scenes and inconsistencies. He had one bullet wound when shot the first time, but not a second one when he fell from the train. It is hard to believe someone would survive a fall of over 100 feet into a river after being shot twice. He was shot the first time in the right shoulder, but then the wound changed to his left shoulder when he dug the fragments out, then it switched back to his right shoulder. Hard to believe someone made their own bullets using metal only a few people would have access to. Despite the inconsistencies, a very typical Bond movie that had all the expected elements.

    Best Bond Movie Ever

If you're a Bond fan or even just into spy movies, you absolutely need to see this movie. Daniel Craig delivers a spectacular Bond performance, even portraying his weaknesses in the most excellent ways. Judi Dench as M is brought more into the spotlight in Skyfall, and she shines brilliantly in this role. The arch-enemy is very well played, and the plot does a great job making you feel like he has the upper hand until the very end. The rest of the supporting class, also with plenty of screen-time to get you familiar, does a superb job. There is a perfect blend of action vs. dialogue and humor vs. drama in this film. See this movie!

    Excellent

A few surprises, but very well done with a solid script. Craig is awesome as Bond -- too bad this is supposed to be his last movie. Going to see it a 2nd time.

    Where's the Action?

    by

For a James Bond / 007 movie, the story was pretty good. But where's the action? Aside from the first action scene, the story unfolded very slowly and with a LOT of dialog. I also thought the villain was more creepy than evil. Nowhere near as good as the first two in the Daniel Craig series.

Wake me up when it's over

They ran out of fresh ideas.
    Done before:

Two men fighting on top of moving train
Two men ducking when going thru tunnel on moving train
    Man surviving 1000ft fall
Chase scene on roofs in Istanbul were same ones used in Liam Neesan's new movie
Car chase on streets in Istanbul also just done

Bond was a dead fish in this movie and NOT attractive at all. Neither were his women.

    Good, But Over Hyped

I'm a Bond fan and a big Daniel Craig fan and have seen every 007 movie ever made, but I do not agree that this is the best Bond film or even the Best Craig Bond film. I found the writing/story to be flawed, and thought Mendes direction was weak and scattered. I will not discuss specifics at this time so as not to give up spoilers for those yet to see this movie. It's a Bond movie and therefore worth the trip to the show, just not the super Bond movie that is being hyped.

Thus I was a bit disappointed

    For Bond Fans

Its been a rough journey from Dr. No till today but amongst Bond films in terms of stories, the perfect balance of the absurd, excellent writing you will have a Bond thrill seeking adventure in this Bond. With Timothy Dalton is the 80s they tried to remove Bond's stigma of objectifying women. In the spy world though every female good or evil is a means to an end for Bond. With Daniel Craig they have managed to keep Bond rugged and manly, attaining the female without pressing the misogynistic aspect of the character. For me it was Sean and Pierce who presented Bond best. Moore did so in his early bond films when he looked young and condition, but with his age came some ridiculous movies that nearly killed the franchise. "Moonraker" onward his films were down slope. As a Bond enthusiast as a fan of "Casino Royale", someone confused with "Quantum of Solace" , MUST SEE "SKYFALL"!

Not My Kind of Movie - Not for Everyone

I should have known better, but got caught up in all the hype. I do not enjoy violent movies, and this is indeed a very violent film. The exotic locations were fun, and there is good acting. But I can think of many more pleasant ways to spend an evening. Was interesting to see how they incorporated new technology in the secret service (computer espionage) into the action story.

    Great Movie

    by

This was hands down a great movie. I hesitate to say it was the best Bond ever as this new series is quite a bit different than past Bond films. It is like saying Apples are better than Oranges. Craig is fantastic and his interpretation of Bond is very refreshing, particularly after Brosnan's tired old rehash of Moore's and Connery's Bond character. I think people need to treat the series the way we view the Batman films. You have Bond 1.0 and Bond 2.0.

    Fascinating!

As a Bond fan, my review is undoubtedly biased in favor of the movie. That said, this is a wonderful way to spend 2+ hours. Special effects, action and standard Bond WOW-factors are found in this movie.

    Skyfall Review

It didn't feel like a James Bond movie, it felt more like it was part of the Bourne Identity series. It was also very dragged out. :(

    Skyfall

Very well directed and produced. Craig is the best James Bond and Judy Dench does a wonderful job as "M". It will definitely be in my Bond blue-ray collection when released. My wife and I want to see it soon, again.

Chick Flick of the Century :))

The greatest part of watching a James Bond movie is knowing full well he'll survive whatever...this is the best one yet!! Don't want to ruin it for those who haven't viewed the movie. Action-packed with unbelievable (duh) stunts - James still has plenty of mojo, no doubt whatsoever...perfect actor for the part!

    This movie was great

Out of the entire movie, the only thing that i think that they should have done better is show what a true psychopath Silva is. But other than that the movie was spot on. The cinematography was amazing and it even played part to the older Bond films. The music fit the movie perfectly and was great. Daniel Craig (Bond) was great and so was Judi Dench (M).

The way that the producers were able to connect the new Bond to the old Bond was indefinably my favorite thing about this movie. How they were able to incorporate some of the nostalgic memories of the early Bonds was well played and it was more of an easter egg hunt throughout the movie to spot little connections that the director and producers played. Making this movie more of a game between the movie itself and the viewer, while not actually taking away from the movie.

Overall I loved this movie and would go back to see it again soon. This was a great way to honor 50 years of bond and more years to come.
