    better than expected

Neither of my children wanted to go to this film because of Kristen Stewart. I dont know what the dislike of this actor is about.I have not seen her other fims. I went with my wife. She played this version of snow white quite well. The star of the show is Charlize Theron, very powerful. All the actors in this film gave great performances.Non stop action, storybook fantacy, epic scenery. It even had a finally that didnt leave questions for me.Obviously its a different interpretation. It`s a sci-fi ,not a childrens film.

Review for Snow White and the Huntsman

I really liked the movie. I enjoyed the special effects and it was pretty action packed which was really awesome. I liked the actors and actresses, but thought they could have done a little better in some spots. However the movie wasn't ruined by that because everything else is done really well. They did a great job turning a classic children's story into something for adults.

"Snow White" - Thought it was great...

I thought the film was great. It dealt with the fantasy aspect very well, while maintaining the fairy tale aspect. It was beautifully shot, art directed and held my interest all the way through.

    Snow White and The Huntsman

This adaptation of the beloved children's story takes a more Grimm approach. The retelling here has two men The Huntsman, and "Prince charming" both competing for Snow Whites attention as they and the 7 dwarfs band together to protect her from the wrath of the evil Queen, who wants to consume Snow Whites beating heart. The special affects in this movie where magnificent, as was the acting. I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes action and adventure, but it's not your typical "happily ever after" fairy tale.

    Not the best fairy tale

Fairy tales are meant to be with a sweet ending and the "they lived ever after" way. Though the film trailers didn't seem to be like that but still went to see it. It was an absolute urn down. Kirsten Stewart with her horrible acting and the film being so slow and stretchy. At some point felt like just leaving he theater.
The good part was the hunstman, though he lacked the aura of Thor.

    Really... Kristen Stewart?...

    by

Being a fan of Once Upon a Time, I was curious to see how this movie would fare. I was excited that it was dark and twisty, with cool special effects. Going into the theater, the only actress I knew of sure sure was Charlize Theron. The very moment I saw Kristen Stewart's face, I immediately lost interest. The fact that someone chose Stewart to play the part of someone meant to be 'fairer' than Theron is laughable. Her being an awful actress only made it worse. She is... just... forgettable - as usual. However, even the president of Theron's fan club would have been over her as well. We get it - you're evil - please stop screaming. It was just too much. The acting in general, left something to be desired. The only pair with any real chemistry was the Evil Queen and her brother... Yes - her brother. WTH was that about? And 'true love's kiss' flew right out the window the sec the Huntsman said, "You remind me of my dead wife." I'm sorry - what? The best part - the Evil Queen's costumes.

Wait to watch it at home...

    by clo184

Second to the location, Charlize Theron as Ravenna took the film. The Huntsman and the Dwarfs were very cool and made the movie interesting, while "Snow White" was a big bore!
Knowing it's a "fairy tale" it was still strange and sometimes made little sense. No character was developed, no real story line, although we all know the story.
The cool parts were maybe the fighting scenes and...and...yeah that's it.
I thought it would be more like Ever After, with Drew Barrymore. Which, by the way, would've been a more memorable Snow White.
What my boyfriend noticed: the Huntsman is Thor. And he said "You're lucky I love you"...

PS There were a couple of times I wanted to walk out, but was hoping it would get better. Which it did...at times.

My advise: Wait for it to come out on Netflix or Red Box.

    Very Good!

Okay. The movie despite what some people will say is very good. The acting is done well, the action is there, the story line is there, the romance is there, the adventure is there. Go and se it.

    We liked it!

I took my 12 year old daughter, who is a Kristen Stewart fan, to see this movie. It wasn't inappropriate for her, but the queen was e-v-i-l and had no trouble showing it! The graphics and special effects were awesome and so were the action scenes. It was a good movie and we enjoyed seeing it together.

    Save Your Money

    by MovieG8

The movies is Choppy and Kristen Stewart is ok until she tries to "act" strong. She is a mess! The movie doesn't flow at all. Jumps from one cliche to the next. Save your money and see something else.

Grown-ups PLEASE save your time and money; worst movie of the year! for Tweenie girls perhaps

This movie was poorly written in that the story was erratic, disjointed, and superficial.
It is if the writers didn't know if they wanted to movie to be a sci-fi flick, a drama, a thriller, a horror, or love movie- so they said let's just put a little element of each into this and call ita grown-up version of Snow White that will somehow mesmerize the audience. WRONG, all it did was upset us by them thinking that we spent money on this absurdly unbelievable and poorly written movie. I actually laughed out loud a couple times at scenes which were not supposed to be funny; I couldn't help it as i thought ,"REALLY, IS THIS THE BEST HOLLYWOOD CAN DO IN REMAKING SNOW WHITE!??? WHOSE WROTE THIS SCREENPLAY, THE PRODUCER'S HIGH SCHOOL KIDS? " Let me give an example, in one scene you have the evil queen eating out the bloody hearts from the chests of freshly ripped apart birds, another scene with a dark forest engulfed in LSD like hallucinogenic dust, and another with Yoda pixie fairies!

    Was disappointed

    by evol1

I was was disappointed, expected much more from this movie. Based on the trailer and the actors I really expected this to be a great movie. To sum it up, it was visually pleasing but the story lacked in development and depth.

    Snow White & the Huntsman

Very good movie. Really presents the fairy tale the way it was imagined when the brothers Grimm compiled the story. Charlize Theron was phenomenally evil as the Queen. Kristen Stewart showed that she can give better performances than she has in the Twilight series. Aside from a few continuity issues, the movie was well paced, with good dialogue and good, but not overwhelming special effects.
