    Hunger Games

***** 5 Star thumbs up, casting was genius, cinematography was genius, the story is phenominal and the acting was oscar winning. Graphics, music and special effects were all gripping, a must see for anyone

    It was good but.....

If you never read the book then you may get a little lost. There were some things that the movie changed from the book but for the most part it was all understandable why the writers changed it. I think that the cast was well picked but all in all its hard to take a book that was a first person narrative into a movie because in the book you get a lot more explanation on how Katniss is feeling about things. I would tell people to go see the movie but I would read the book first.

    The Hunger Games

This is one of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen. Everything even down to the camera style was influenced by the creators wanting you to feel in the Games.

    Good movie

I recently went with my husband, I have read the books he has not. Was slightly unsure as reviews I had read said it was really shaky and nauseating. It is shaky in many parts and if you have a weakness for that this is not the movie for you but it isn't soo bad that you can't focus.

    To the movie:
First off knowing they cannot possibly fit the entire book into a 2.5 hour movie I think they did an ok job on main parts.
HOWEVER! There are some scenes that were added to the movie which weren't in the book. They could have taken these out and put in more details from the book that they glanced over. And they changed parts that would have been just as easy to stick true to the book instead of changing who did what/how it happened.

Overall - definitely worth the money to see it!

Loved the Books!!! Love the Movie!!!

For those who read the books, it?s a great compliment to them. For those who haven?t, it?s a great introduction. Read the books!!! I think they did a great job of following the basic plot. Did they leave stuff out? Of corse they did. There is no way to fit all the wonderful details of the book into a movie. Did they change some things? Yes, in the book we are in Katniss?s head and they can?t show that on screen. They had to tell what happened in a different way at times. What was most awesome to me, as one who loved the books, is that they showed a lot of things that we didn?t get to see because we only saw what Katniss saw. I love this added perspective. What I was most disappointed about was that they were not able to develop her relationships with some of the characters the way they did in the book. Especially the more complex relationships like Peeta, Gale and Haymitch. I do think they did the best they could. Overall I think they did an amazing job. Can?t wait to buy it!

    HUNGER GAMES

I enjoyed both the books & the movie. I don't know how anyone who hasn't read the books could know what & why things were happening. It was violent, but not blood & guts for blood's sake.

I did not like the quick movement/shakey camera work for part of the movie. This method of camera work is sloppy and unnecessary.Trying to squeeze ideas & movement into these jerky movements is stupid.

The extravagants of the Capitol were very well shown, but not the hunger & starvation of the districts. I would recommend this, after reading the book.

    Huger Games

    by

The movie was good would go see it a second time. just so I ca sit farther back and see it better to close to the screen. It touched on all the aspects of the book and the added parts did help it flow it showed how much you don't want to mess with but have to right the wrong that is being enforced. Free will gets you every time. The part with Rue made me tear up. I hated all the blurring they did, it was unnecessary. If you can read the books and not get over emotional or offended then you can see the movie the same way. And if you read the book and was offended well you shouldn't waistt your time seeing it. Remove the blur from the movie and it is a fantastic movie. leave it and it is a very good movie to see. Go see it, it is worth the time. I would give this one a B

Good start to a great trilogy

My basic guideline for the worth of a movie is whether I would pay money in a theater or not. I rate this a go; the movie was true to the book, the acting was believable. I never had to forgive an actor's performance just because I loved the series so much and wanted the movie to succeed. It's not too gory, so bring along your older kids without worry. Unlike many movies, Hunger Games tries to represent the terrible violence more as a dream with flashes of violence you sense, not live. This may not work for those of you that have to have your daily dose of violence, but if I were to live this story, I would rather think of it as a bad dream as a coping mechasnism for what you can only imagine the characters would feel and experience.

    Hunger Games

If you are a true fan of the books you must go and see this movie. Even though some of the stroy line was changed for the movie the most important parts are true to the book. The charaters they picked to play the roles did a great job, can't wait to see the next two movies.

    The Hunger Games

    The Hungar Games

Futuristic but posible. No aliens just ordinary and strange people. Granddaughter had to read book 1 for school and loved it. I got her the collection for Christmas - she says not totally with books. I think I liked movie more than I would books since they are more detailed and often left to your imagination. Good story base...love for family and friends (even unlikely ones). Yes, I did cry. Great acting-was cast very well. Hope we never truly get there - but possible. I would recommend this to teens and on to senior citizens.

Clips and Interviews seem not to fit

Having watched morning show interview with the three "amazing young actors", only 2 of which really are in the movie - yes, a third is there, but barely - this billed to be "as big as Harry Potter".

Not a chance. It was a decent movie, but this is NOT a Harry Potter type franchise.

As for the movie, it moved ok, but I found myself expecting, again from hype, more action. But all in all, the story was good - showing that often it's more likely you'll win by letting others fall in the drama while you prepare for the long haul, taking care of those who need help, and react decisively when needed, even if it's a hard thing to do.

Very good, but read the book!

If you don't read the book there are parts of the movie that you will not understand. There are some things that are left out from the book, but the casting of the characters seems to be done really well! I would definitely recommend this movie, but I would have been a little lost had I not read the book! Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor!

    Great Movie!

I loved this movie! Beautiful costume, cinematography and writing. I knew nothing about The Hunger Games until I saw this movie. This movie is not a movie for children. It is a movie for adults.

    Great Movie

    Well,

I was anxiously awaiting the Hunger Games movie. I bought tickets well in advance to go on March 25- my birthday.

The movie is great. The books are awesome. I think there wasw great attention to detail. I am nitpicky, and I don't necessarily agree with all the little things that were obmitted from the movie that were in the book. That being said, they had to focus on the "big picture", and I do get that. They could have made the first book into two seperate movies, easily. But, I understand that is not always an option in movie land. If possible, read the book first. If not, still go and see this movie.
