    The Woman in Black.

Saw this last Saturday with with granddaughter. We both loved the movie. I have already spread the word to friends. The ticket price was a little high, the crowd in the theater reacted with a round of applause when the movie ended.

    May see again.

    The Woman in Black

A very good move. Finally, a return to a good ole ghost story. A very good classic haunted house story. A movie that gets you from the beginning and holds you until the end. It goes to show that you don't have to have "blood and guts" graphic killing to be a great horror film.

    Slow and Less Scary

I was surprised that me and my son went to see movie on Friday, Feb. 10 with excitement. Bu we were kind of dozing off....my son wanted to see it and he keep apologzing that the movie is bored, slow and less scary, well I paid for it and he brought me popcorn and drink. I recommened it is not to watch it. But Daniel Radcliffe looks good, very handsome with nice sideburns. Pretty eyes but poor Director.....

    what??

    by jes129

At the end of this movie I was still waiting for the plot. A couple of jump in your seat moments but I just felt ripped off. Save money, stay home and rent "The Others" so much better and scarier!!!

    Epic!

    by

Im personally not one to sit through a horror film, but this was an exseption. I will not denie that i hid my face and screamed several times durring the film, but it was the perfect amount. Not to mention the amazing plot that made the movie not only horror but as well mystery. I would suguest everyone go see this, it is by far my favorite horror film.

    Good Old-Fashioned Scare-fest

As a fan of the play, I was very excited to see "The Woman in Black", and I have to say that, while the movie doesn't work quite as well as the play does, it's still good scary fun. There's lots of creepy atmosphere, some good jump out of your seat moments and excellent performances. I found it refreshing to see a horror film where you didn't have to listen to the lead actor "pant in terror" for the whole of the movie. Daniel Radcliffe did an excellent job and managed to avoid the acting cliches that so many actors fall into with this genre. His was a calm, measured performance that made all the creepy stuff that much more upsetting because you weren't being spoon-fed the emotions for each scene by his performance. You got to discover how scared you were for yourself. Nice. I would have liked a little more dialoge and the pacing was a little slow, but other than that I thought the film was great. Definitely worth paying to see the film in the theater. Go see it! :)

    The Woman in Black

I loved it! It's a classic haunted house movie...like they used to make them. Scary in all the right places, without the gore and hi-tech special effects. Enter a dark, creepy, scary deserted old mansion, in a desolate setting, add a believable dark spirit, and have a chilling good time. Daniel was great. This was a good role for him to move forward with. I highly recommend it for haunted house and Radcliffe fans.

    Keeps you tense!!

I knew this movie was gonna be scary, but i didnt know it would be THAT scary. It keeps you in a state of tension for the whole movie, and when something scary does happen, your body explodes! Its been a while since i've seen a movie like this and i was very pleasanty surprised. It scared my boyfriend!!

    Woman in Black

This was the kind of movie that had lots of quick scarey moments. Things pop out and scare you. The sound effects were great. The characters were very well played. I think the story could have been a little more interesting, but overall I really liked it.

    Daniel Radcliffe is D-RAD!!!

This is a great breakout role for Daniel Radcliffe. He held his own, pulling the weight of an entire film practically solo. The movie offers an intriguing plot and is full of suspense, up until the very end. The movie takes place in the Victorian period and really enhances the Edgar Allen Poe feel of the film. I can't wait for it to be released on DVD!

    Life Beyond Harry Potter

    by

I was quite pleased with the quality of the Gothic flavoring in the movie. I'm glad Daniel's character wasn't wearing glasses for that would have been a bad move. The twist at the end was quite good. The collection of windddup toys were quite an addition to the level of Gothic tinting. The location was really the selling point to the msyterious air of the movie. Well done!

Don't look at your reflection in the window!

    by semcha

This movie was the scariest movie I've seen in a long time. Great acting and direction. Radcliffe was very believable in this role, so don't believe the reviews that see him as Harry Potter or a kid trying to play adult. The tension and fear build slowly during the entire movie to a fantastic ending. The jump in your seat moments keep coming, and the creepy atmosphere never gives you a break from feeling like everything is haunted and malevolent. This movie is definitely one to see in the theater.

Great thriller without all the blood and gore! Daniel Radcliffe gives a great performance! Gives some goosebumps and chills especially towards the end! Some teenage girls who went screamed at some suspenseful parts...Definitely recommended as a good thriller but if you want blood and gore-see something else!

    No Resolution & No Love

    by

The setting and lighting was great, the costumes were fantastic, and even the acting was good. It was scary, and not the gory kind but the haunting spooky kind which is getting rarer and rarer these days. My main problem with this movie is the story. You don't care about any of the characters, there's no connection with anyone. The story is just thrown at you, with no chance for it to develop or for you to absorb it. What's worst of all is you leave the theater not caring at all about anything you've just seen. The only reason I gave it a so-so is because the scary parts were quite scary, and the movie /looked/ great. Other than that, it was a complete waste of time.
