Really good, well made movie and cute story.

    by jsjcbs

I saw this last night and was a big fan. The movie was very well done and the story line was cute and creative. I really animated movies and this one didn't let me down. I can't say it's a "must go", but if you do go, I believe you will enjoy it.

    Brave

The hair flows, the fabric has weight and the cartoons have muscles. WOW! The characters are realistic, the accents authentic and the detail beautiful. AMAZING! During the scene with the clans I laughed out loud and nearly peed my pants! Thanks for a wonderful night at the movies.

Great mother-daughter movie. My 4yr old daughter loved it.

My 4yr old daugther really enjoyed this movie and I loved the moral. In the movie, Meridia has an argument with her mother and wishes for her mother to be different. The mother feels that Meridia should behave with more sophistication and poise like the princess that she is (she is sort of a tom-boy for lack of a better description) and Meridia wants her mother to listen to her, understand her,and accept her for who she is. Througout the movie, and due to an interesting turn of events, Meridia's mother learns how special her daugther is and to love the qualities that her daugther has. Meahwhile, Meridia learns to view things from her mother's perspective. The two are able to rekindle the bonds of their relationship (making this a wonderful mother-daugther movie). One scene was a little difficult for my daugther and she started crying..SPOILER ALERT..Meridia's mom is turned in to a bear and people start shooting at her (not knowing it is her). That was a little distressing for my 4yr old.

Mothers, daughters, monsters, kilts, magic, good stuff!

    by

Starts off a bit slow and heroine is whiny self-centered type but picks up considerably once the main plot twist happens about 20 minutes in and takes off from there. Very enjoyable and plenty of action. Good for boys and girls. Some intense fight scenes and dangerous moments for the heroine and her family but fine for all but the littlest kiddos. Not up there with Pixar's great films, but very good. I liked it better than Madagascar 3.

    Brave = Brilliant

    by

Saw it at the midnight premiere and the verdict is another winning Disney princess movie. LOVE the crazy locks of red hair and the perfect balance of magical intervention and personal choices :) Definitely a must see for any age!

    How to be Brave...Pixar knows!

While some movie reviewers complained that ?Brave? didn?t have enough heart, it left me wondering if maybe they went to the wrong theater or fell asleep half way through the movie, which with all its action and visual splendor I find hard to believe.

Brave is a stunning work that is to Scotland what Disney?s ?Mulan? was to China. What I loved most about this movie was Pixar stepping out of their usual setting and exploring another land and time.

Merida takes her rightful place among the more fearless and modern ?Disney Princesses? who fights for more than just a prince.

The music and score was enjoyable, adding to the feeling of the Highlands even more than the stunning visuals.

As a side note, Pixar?s new short shown right before Brave was unique and in true Pixar short style needed no words to tell a great story.

    Brave

This turned out to be a modern fairy tale set "once upon a time" and "in a land far away". Brave Merida is also strong-willed and stubborn to a fault. She defies her mother, the Queen, and has to learn to be less strong-willed and stubborn. In the end she learns that too much pride can cause rifts in relationships. The animation, character creation, and scripting are all good. The music was wonderful, and I especially enjoyed "Touch the Sky" as a theme song for Merida's charactor.

Be "Brave" and wear a kilt to this great movie-you'll believe you're in Scotland!

Brave is the latest in the line of Pixar animated movies and it rises above! Featuring a petulant heroine, Merida (Kelly Macdonald), who rebels against the traditional role of Scottish princess causing a major rift with her mother, Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Given the chance to change her destiny with magic, it has consequences typical of taking the easy way out. A great cast of characters/voices including King Fergus/Billy Connolly (Her Majesty, Mrs. Brown), Lord Dingwall/Robbie Coltran (Harry Potter). Brave takes the crown for Pixar movies because the animation rocks! Merida's hair looks real-every strand naturally flows. Another example of detail work is the realistic bear fur reacting to rain and movement. Sure it's CGI and you expect it to be good... this is GREAT! The last element making Brave a great is the traditional Scottish music of Patrick Doyle and the voice of folk singer, Julie Fowlis. I dare you to not believe you're in the highlands of Scotland-faith and begorrah!

    BRAVE

I took three of my grandchildren to see BRAVE yesterday (two boys~one girl) and enjoyed a thoroughly enchanting movie for all ages. Great Pixar cinematography, excellent story line, and endearing characters. As well as being very entertaining it has a great message for boys and girls, children and adults to believe in yourself, follow your best instincts and your destiny is yours to manifest. We laughed, we cried, we learned lessons. What a great experience to have with your grandchildren. Thank you Disney and Pixar for the medium in which to grow closer to family and personal values. As an added plus, the dedication at the end of the film "In Memory of Steve Jobs" was another opportunity to teach and encourage gratitude for your gifts, and respect for people and their achievements.

Brave - good but a bit scary

I saw this with my almost 6 year old. I thought the movie was great and it was a refreshing change to have a female lead not motivated or saved by a male. However, it was too scary for my 5 year old. He climbed into my lap half way through and had me cover his eyes towards the end. If your kids watch other scary movies or video games they may be fine, but my son hasn't and it was too much for him.

    Another Pixar success

My son was sucked in from the beginning and absolutely loved it. My wife cried at the ending (like she does with most Pixar films). Another success for Pixar, and now the countdown is on till Monsters University!

    Awesome!

This was such a good movie. My Autisitc/ADHD son has a tough time sitting still and focus on any single movie, but this movie kept him enthralled. There were parts where I laughed so hard my sides hurt and parts where I was on the edge of my seat. I MUST have this on DVD when it comes out!
