    Awesome Movie

Brave is an excellent family movie. There are many themes that build this story. The major theme of changing your fate is a really good message for young children. There are so many negative influence in society that it is good to see a film that encourages individuals to stand up for the positive things they believe in.

    Brave = A Disappointment

Lately, kid movies have been awesome! I LOVED Tangled and Despicable Me and as a result was thrilled when I heard about Brave. I took my siblings, and their friends to see the movie, ages 3, 5, 6, & 7 as a special outing. I was reminded of the movie Rango with the sexual hints and the naked jokes, including a group of men mooning the theater after using their pants as an escape rope. In addition to this there are evil bears that are SCARY, and half of the movie is her trying to save her mother, who gets turned into a bear, from getting caught and killed by her dad. This movie freaked out all four of the children that went with me, and I ended up pushing up the armrests to let them huddle against me. As much as I wanted this movie to be awesome, I wish they had never seen it. I don't think it's suited for kids under the age of 12.

    Great Movie!

    by Roan21

Highly recommend this movie. It isn't often that children get such a lovable, strong female character like Merida. Our grand daughter along with the 4 adults that joined her really enjoyed the movie and will be purchasing it when it releases for sale.

    Brave

I and my 8 year old daughter did not like. Too violent, scary, poor plot and resolution. Didn't like the princess or the queen. King was horrifically ugly. Too much a caricature. The princess was a bratty, spoiled adolescent. Would not recommend. Pixar! Was John Lassetter too busy at Cars Land to contribute? Clearly, he wasn't watching this develop!

    Feast for the senses

    by Eaim

Everyone should go see this lovely movie. It was quite a surpise. Splendid movie, from the acting to the cinematography. Great for everyone from 3 to 99.

    It was ok

    by baronix

The characters are cute, but the story is similar to Brother Bear, even the scene in the river when the bear is catching salmon, c'mon! The best part is the soothing Irish music and scenery. It was ok but not a movie I want to see again.

    Great Story

It seems to me that so many movies these days follow a formula and end up being predictable. Brave was refreshingly different. The story was engaging, the characters endearing and funny, and the animation superb. My son (age 8) loved it and I did too. I highly recommend it!

    BRAVE

Brave was a good movie, however I felt that it was much more of a chick flick than anything else. My sister took me to see this film. Really good for a mother /daughter day outing. I enjoyed, but my sister liked it more.

    Awesome characters and great story

Saw it with my 12 year old daughter. We both really related to the storyline. And the characters were amazing, hilarious, and real. As a humongous fan of Boardwalk Empire, it was refreshing to see (hear )once again the main character. Let's hear it for the non-mega-star!!!!! Whar a great way to spend a summer afternoon. PIXAR ROCKS!!!!

Was a great movie. Kept even parents wondering what would happen. Our children loved it,of course! Showed some great moral values and parenting skills.

Pixar is Brave to tell a story about family life.

    by

This film was immeasurably good for me to see and take my children to, minus a brief butt scene done with a flair of Gaelic comedy.
While I have read (see link below) some reviews that low-brow this movie because of it's apparent lack of plot and random (culture effected) gags. I see exactly where the plot lies - Relationships. Its understandable that in a society that has lost a handle on what it means to BE a family that such critics would not see that.

I would encourage anyone end everyone to see this movie. It celebrates not only a 'coming of age' but does it in a way that teaches the importance of family and the importance of understanding one another. I'll be buying this blu-ray for certain. This will be a wonderful moralistic story to keep for my children to view as they grow, and their children to learn from as well.

A great film for all to enjoy! Brave is so beautiful and courageous in this movie. I am impressed with Disney Pixar's latest work. Girl Power!

    Good Family Fun

This was a good family movie. I'm glad to see a movie made outside of the American/English perspective. They are too few and far between. I took two little 9 yr old girls and they both loved it - especially the antics of the twin boys in the film.
Adults will probably wish there was more about the clans and how they related to each other, but in a kids movie, you can't do that without losing their interest.
I will probably watch it again on DVD.

    Recommended for ages 4+

    Loved it

    by schaery

A great combination of comedy, adventure, suspense, and even a bit of a lesson. Nice soundtrack, too. Can't wait for the DVD so I can watch it at home.
