Nothing like the first one, that's for sure

    by RTChoke

Honestly, the first Ice Age film is so much better than all of the sequels, it's ridiculous.

The sequels, including this one, all have rotten plots with annoying details, and an over-reliance on star voices. This one has JLo as a "love interest" for Diego, voiced by Dennis Leary. Couple that with Queen Latifah and Ray Romano, and you have a film that relies heavily on the idea that viewers will be entertained by those stars' voices coming out of the animated characters.

AND, I amused myself, when not sleeping through this film, by trying to answer to my own satisfaction whether Fox is deliberately trying to undermine scientific understanding by presenting a historical view of the world that makes no sense and is without regard to accepted timelines for evolution and world history. Continental Drift is presented as fast moving land masses that crash like cars. Humans are gone from this film, but were present in the first film, etc.

    Ice Age: Continental Drift

Aside from the first one, this was my favorite. Kept the action going, along with good values. Had the usual, occasional adult humor but not overtly to the point of needing to provide explanations. Great family movie!

    Very Funny and Relaxing

    by njm3752

Ice Age: Continental Drift movie was a very funny and relaxing movie for young and nearly old. It was clean yet funny which seems NOT to be the tradition for movies in this day and time. I took my 11 year old grand-daughter that liked it, too. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Ice Age - Continental Drift

One great story - well executed! New characters bring new story and humor to add to the great original characters. Captain Gut sings a tune worth hearing, and the rest of the music is good as well. A family-friendly movie.

    Ica Age Continental Drift

I took my son to see this movie. We are both fans of the previous Ice Age movies. My son, who is 11, thoroughly enjoyed it. I also got several chuckles and was enteratined by the humor. It has a great cast and story line. I recommned this as the family movie for the summer.

    Ice Stench 4

This particular version met all my expectations....for all the wrong reasons. Incoherent plot...rambling script....banal characters even Sid couldn't salvage this smorgasbord of yesterdays leftovers.

However, if you want somewhere to grab a couple of hours sleep while jr enjoys the cartoon then go for it.

    Funny for all

    by waletti

Went with three boys, ages 12-10 and they laughed so hard! Movie was more of the same and right on target with the on going saga of ice age.

Good, but it has lost some magic

    by

I thought Ice Age 4 was good; it had funny bits, it had bits that made me tear up a bit. However while I realize that there is a certain suspension of disbelief and childlike fun in all of the movies, I felt like this one was reaching too hard. I'd have to watch the other three again, but I also think this was the first movie to have a truly mythical species in it instead of humanizing factual creatures. And while I know that shouldn't make a difference, it actually did for me. All told, I still enjoyed it, but while the first three movies really took home the gold in my eyes, this one only gets a bronze. My 8 year old enjoyed it, as did my mother, but we all agreed it wasn't as good as Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
The voice actors were great, and the new characters were well cast. The tech has really come a long way and it was a visually appealing work of animation.
Summed up: Good, not great, but still worth seeing. If you are on the fence, wait for the dollar theater or DVD.

    Ice Age Review

OK I have an 8 year old and a 13 year old, so I must see all of the newest PG movies. I was a really disappointed. Wanda Sykes was about the most exciting character. Would like to have heard more from Nicky Manage's character but it was cute. Kiki Palmer's voice and character was most adorable as she, even in person comes across as a really nice person with great character ---I just wish writers and directors would realize that ADULTS have to take their minors to the movies and spend over 30 bucks (in my case wine & dine theatre -- close to $70) and would like to be entertained also... -- as in the "Lion King" where the Entire Family walked away entertained and talking about the movie! My 8 year old liked it and of course I did not share my views with her.

Ice Age 4 was a hit!!

I took my three kids to see Ice Age 4 on opening day and they loved it. I liked it as much as they did. I am a big fan of the Ice Age movies. Perfect for the kids and enough humor for adults to love too!

Review on Ice Age: Continental Drift:

I have seen the trailer to this movie. I am looking forward to going to watch it. I love all the Ice Age movies and the actors that use their voices for the movie. They have done a great job. I wont go on July 13th (Friday the 13th) but i will go some time after it is out for a few days. I am waiting for other people to tell me go see it, it is good. I do hope they make a whole series of this cartoon. Dont let them stop. I want more of them. I know thr first nite it shows in theaters, you will get your money's worth, and you will be paid 10 fold in revenues. :-) It is the type of movie you want to see again and again either by your self, or with the kids. It makes you laugh and forget about the world and the troubles for a while. :-)

    Ice Age: Continental Drift

    by cnoz

We were expecting a little more from this movie. It was o.k., but could have been much better. As usual, Syd steals the scenes. He is our favorite character. The teens in the movie spoiled it. We get enough of that attitude in real life. We don't need to see it for entertainment.

    just what I expected......

    by

It was just what I expected in a negative way...action started right away.....story line didn't explain the newer characters....this is my least favorite one by far.....the pirate monkey guy showed up at a random time with no explanation....plot was messed up and went WAY to fast for me to even catch up........the only reason i rated it no Instead of oh no is because humor.....humor was good I laughed mainly at Sid's grandma funny.....also bad ending to end the movie if that was the last ice age then the ending was TERRIBLE!! I recommend seeing it if your looking for a mid-comedy.....if looking for action see the new spider man its pretty awesome! good family one would probably be Brave or Madagascar 3.
