    Enlightening the Knight

Chris Nolan's finale to the Dark Knight franchise is indeed apply named. He has managed to take the legendary and iconic character, as well as those of the supporting players and masterfully reshape them to the constrains of human angst and mortality. What ensues is not a disappointing path of perdition, a lesson in failed pride (as would generally be the case). Instead, fans of the beloved knight should be moved by the realism portrayed. Nolan's journey Into the human condition is well worth the ride. Fan or not, YOU WILL be thoroughly entertained.

    Must See for true fans

The movie has kept true to the spirit of the Batman Trilogy series i.e. the theme and all. For true Batman fans, this movie will definite;y appeal. For others, it is better to watch the first 2 flicks and then watch this in the hall. However, the movie is no doubt well executed. The villain is excellent but not as good as the Joker was.

The four-year wait was worth it, but...

    by bkbloke

    1) Alfred is terribly underutilized. From watching the earlier movies in this franchise (and the build-up of the character) it was odd to see him not intervene to assist Gordon, Fox, Blake, and of course, Wayne.

    2) Bruce repairing the auto-pilot of The Bat when there seemed to be only one.

    3) Wayne's condition at the beginning of the film. Since he was last in action the night Harvey Dent died - 8 years prior - it was confusing to see him in such bad shape.

When i saw some of the early teasers/trailers for the film i was thinking that Bane would break him on the first 15-20 minutes of the story and then that would explain his bleak condition.

    4) We never got a real feeling of what the regular citizens of Gotham were going through. WIth Batman sacrificing himself for them it would have been great to see how they felt.

Those aside, the movie brought every emotion! Selfishly, i would have loved for Blake's name to be revealed as "Richard Grayson." 9/10

    Review

Two of my three sons have seen the movie, and my third son is there right now ! Oldest son was at the Thursday night premier and the youngest son saw it last night. Both really liked the movie. I watched the first and second movie last week to get ready for this one and will see it this afternoon. I am looking forward to it.

    Incredible

In light of what preceded it, expectations were extremely high for the movie. And although some people were not pleased with certain minor aspects, taken as a stand alone film all gripes are easily rectified. The film seamlessly integrates with the first two movies, and beautifully ties up the film with the right amount of closure. While the movie carries over certain themes and other similarities from the first two, the overall experience and tone feels widely different, and leaves you feeling a far different mix of emotions by the end than after the first two, and the ride of emotions a viewer experiences throughout the film create for a worthwhile drama and altogether amazing movie. The musical score, cinematography hold to the standards expected of Nolan, if not raising them. Actors in returning roles excel as their characters deepen, and newcomers Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt do not disappoint. The only thing that can stop you from loving this movie is you.

Excellent Movie, will see it again

I saw the movie last night, and my first impression, was "eh." But after carefully rethinking the movie, I realized it was brilliant the way it was tied to the other movies in the trilogy. Although, this movie is not really a comic book movie; it is something more...a very thought provoking film that is dark and difficult to digest.

For me, Anne Hathaway makes this film with her very snark and timely wittiness. This enhanced the film because its plot is quite heavy. Chris Nolan definitely went big with visual scenery and brilliant actors, but also did his homework in terms of the characters' existences in the comics. If Batman Begins was an epic origin story, the Dark Knight Rises is an unbelievable ending to the trilogy, and has now set the bar very high for future comic book movies.

    The Dark Knight Rises

Technical master piece. Story is confusing, long and sometimes slow. "Bane" is hard to understand, at times.
It did not hold my interest like "Savages" did. Could have waited for DVD release.

    Why so serious?! :i

I had high expectations going to see "The Dark Knight Rises" and I was trying my best not to judge it by the long remaining time of the film. It kept my interest but it did drag and thought the film was too long. Not the best in the series. I still think "Batman Begins" is the better film out of the three. The acting was great but I think cat woman was not well cast. Christian Bale is one of the better Batman's. These films are to serious and not for the whole family. They need to bring the level down a lot more. I did see it in the IMAX and I thought that is the way to see the film. Overall I thought the movie was overrated.

    Yummy

Love the action, the twists of plot, the acting. Anne Hathaway looks absolutely emaciated, but I figure it was part of what she had to do. Hate it, though. She's really beautiful when not gaunt.

The Dark Knight Rises wasn't as good as hoped!

As a fan of the Batman comics, personally I think the production took way too much licence with the story and wandered off on a stroll too far from the original comic story. The acting was good, the filming was good, but for me, because I didn't see what I recall from the comics I was not as happy as I could have been! The two previous Christian Bale Batman movies were much better.

    He does rise!

AP's Christie Lemire only gave the movie 2 1/2 stars (out of 5), so I wasn't expecting much--but I disagree with Ms. Lemire. It compares favorably to recent 4 stars like "The Avengers" and is far and away better than "Ted"!! The 2 hours and 45 minutes sped by--my measure of how much I was "drawn into" the film.

    Outstanding

One of the greatest trilogy I've ever seen. One par with the Lord of the Rings. Great acting from all the cast members, great story line, great actions, and a great finish for the Franchise.

    Great addition to the series

Very much enjoyed the movie. The actions was good and the story was interesting. I am sorry the release was scarred by the events in Aurora Colorado and my prayers and sympathies are with the victims and their families.

It's not Dark Knight but still an event movie.

I think people's expectations are way too high. It's still a great, entertaining summer movie of the highest caliber.
Don't raise your expectations to impossible heights. Just have fun!

Great ending to a great trilogy

It got murky in the middle and there are some definite gaps in the story, but overall, its a good movie. Not epic, not Great, but a good solid movie. Great ending to a great trilogy
