    Cute Movie

    by megemrj

Good graphics and story line. Good for older children, but there is alot of hitting in the movie. If you child gets frightened easily or has an active imagination be aware the boogie man is very prominent and scary.

    Loved it.

Don't let the terrible marketing and nonsensical title keep you from seeing this movie. It's fun, funny, and sincere. May be a bit scary for the really little ones, but a great family flick.

    FAMILY movie

Great family movie even saw my 17yr old son laugh. The tikes will thoroughly enjoy watching the Easter Bunny being the tough Australian and Jack Frost getting the Fairies eye. Very nice flick.

    More Christmas than I thought

A good movie nonetheless, but about 1 month too late to watch it - it would have put me in the Christmas spirit. It's also something I'd wait to come on HBO or Starz.

Cute, Could be scary for little ones

I went into this with managed expectations, bringing two 11 year old boys (the kind who like when things blow up). I think we all liked it. It was cute and well done. Charming some of the time. Funny some of the time. I didn't think it was so scary, but saw friends afterwards with two young children (maybe 4 and 6) who said it was a little intense for their kids. It wasn't fabulous, but I enjoyed it.

Action packed fun for the entire family! This film did a wonderful job of re-imagining some of our greatest holiday and fokelore favorite characters! Who knew the Easter Bunny was so cool! Go see this one with the family and be pleasantly surprised!

    Rise of the guardians review

    by

I took my 7-year old daughter to see the movie, there were a lot of great elements appealing to boys or girls, the story line was pretty entertaining as well and moved right along. We found ourselves laughing at the little elves/ gnomes, they added a very humorous backdrop. There were touching moments as well, the story encouraged to look at the magic and inner child wonder inside all of us, and see what is truly important. Lastly, the animation was very well done, visually stimulating on the big screen. We really enjoyed this movie!

    Rise of the Guardians

    by gdykes

This was a fun movie for kids, remained appropriate throughout, and and was moving for parents since it reminds us of the wonder of being a child and helps us remember to enjoy our kid's innocence for as long as it lasts,

    Makes you believe again...

The trailers for this were enough to take my 6 year old to this one and I am glad I did. An interesting take on all the "guardians" we as kids believed in and no longer do. From Santa to the tooth fairy to the Sandman all the way to newcomer Jack Frost. If you are taking your kid to this in the hopes of a christmas themed movie you will be disappointed. Yes Santa IS in in this movie but the time line takes places after Christmas leading up to Easter. The boogieman is looking to strip the children of the world of their belief in the Guardians and its up to the Guardians to take it back. A true battle between good and evil and all the kids in the theatre (mine included) loved it. Go see it and just enjoy a great story and once again amazing animation. I highly recommend.

    Fun and scary holiday fare

I wrapped up the 2012/13 holiday season by seeing Rise of the Guardians on the twelfth day of Christmas. I was not disappointed.

Rise of the Guardians is dark for a holiday tale. Most of the story takes place either at night, or underground. The antagonist, Pitch (wonderfully played by Jude Law), is out to destroy the faith of children in Santa, the Easter Bunny (not a kangaroo, as he assures us - despite the accent), the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman. Into this conflict comes our chosen hero, Jack Frost.

Jack Frost's back story is rather sad, and there are some scenes that could be very frightening to very small children (the Night Mares were especially creepy), but in the end, all that is good, with the help of believing children, prevails. The acting here is wonderful, with a nod to Alec Baldwin for his bruising Russian Santa, and all ends on a high note. Santa's elves provide some needed comic relief and the animation is enchanting. Three and a half out of five stars.

    RISE up and go!

Rise of the Guardians is a great movie for all ages. Action and storyline were real for us all - search for own place, competing with those that are successful, good vs. evil, light and dark, trust and alliances, et al.

Timeless characters that old and young love makes it a great famiily movie. For the serious and intellectuals, the storyline and moral points are well integrated to have a good discussions with your older children. For young children, a new timeless movie that they are ready for the next one. My son already went to the Library to check out the book on which the movie was based.

    Rise of the Guardians

My almost 9 yr old like this alot and said he would like to see it again. I was wondering if it might scare younger kids, since it has the boogey man vs. the guardians.
