it was ok
the movie is visually stunning, particularly the color.
santa as a tough russian with a heart of gold was an interesting hyper-masculine twist, though the tattoos were over the top, and i thought an inappropriate message for santa to give to kids. but perhaps that's just my anti-tattoo bias.
the story line was good, though it seemed to drag at times. it didn't engage me as much as the promotions did. i still am not sure what the tooth fairy represented. santa is wonder, the bunny is hope, the sandman is presumably dreams (though unlike santa and bunny he was not clearly articulated), and the tooth fairy? was she memory or innocence or what, just not sure at all. the voice of the boogey man sounded just like that chef from "hell's kitchen".
my son "liked it" but couldn't tell me much about it shortly after we left the theater. so i think its a decent xmas movie, not the greatest, but good,. again, as a visual experience it was stunning.
