    Artistry and wonder abound

I had high hopes for this film after seeing a preview and was not let down in the least. Guillermo del Toro lent a hand as a Producer and his influence can clearly be seen in the design and character structure. The Sandman is a personal favorite and I loved the behind the scenes feel of the story. I believe it will delight children and adults alike and would see it again. Go, enjoy, and believe!

    Surprisingly Enjoyable

Based on the plot, I didn't expect to like this movie very much; I didn't think we needed any more movies dealing with desperation for people to "just believe". However, my family and I found it quite enjoyable. The animation and visual imagery are wonderful; the characters and voices are very entertaining; and it entices a great mix of emotions -- laughing, tears, and just plain fun. I didn't see anything that I would find inappropriate for small children, and yet it's done in a way that's still enjoyable for teens and young adults. If you're looking for an enjoyable way to spend time with your family, this is a great option.

    child-reliving

i thought this movie was really nice i liked how they used jack frost as a human. It has some tear jerking parts but i thought it was amazingly done. funny at parts but a nice family movie to relive your childhood and the mysteries of the invisible "guardians" .

Wonderful story with a wonderful message.

    by

I love a story that teaches a lesson without being patronizing about it. This film does a great job of conveying the importance of dreams, hope, wonder, fun, and self when faced with fear and doubt. The voice acting is superb and overall this is truly a tale for all ages. Will definitely be adding this one to our collection when it becomes available for purchase!

    Magical!

All the magic & imagination you have as a kid that slowly dissipates as the responsibilities of adulthood kick in are revived in this film! Great for kids and adults!

    Not what I expected...

Didn't expect much, but truely enjoyed the storyline and picture quality. If you can afford it, see it in 3D. Me and my babies loved this movie. They are asking to see it again. Not in my budget, but will be getting it on blueray!!!

Kids, wife and nanny loved it... me? not so much

    by

They kind of stuffed a bunch of plot into a movie but the material was probably more appropriate for a mini-series. Hence, the brisk through stories that combine in a not-so-good manner but it definitely worked for my family crew. I'd give it a 2.5/5 but my family is probably at/above 4 our of 5. My wife was even mad that I didn't really like it much. Oh, well. Your call!

    Great Holiday movie

    by mmcr

Fun movie for the whole family. I really loved the Tooth fairy. Great story line fun and full of action. Kids and adults will love this movie. The boogieman was scary for my 5 year old, but the others in the movie buffer that. All in all a great time. I would love to see it again.

    Rise of the Guardians

I really enjoyed all the personallities of the characters that we all come to believe in as children with a few new twists along the way.

    Great family outing

    by muttnut

It's not the best kids movie out there, but it's worth a night out at the movies with the family. It's a little complicated for really young kids (like 4), but t has a nice message at the end.

    Rise of the Guardians

My daughter laughed at some of the parts but I didn't find it fun/entertaining. It lacked substance/depth. Even my daughter said no one speaks to the moon. And if you don't believe in a silly holiday character it doesn't erase the holiday. And these "Guardians" don't protect children----and to suggest they do leaves kids wondering why they really don't. Bottom line Don't waste your money at the theater or buying the DVD.

What I got from this movie is without belief and hope, the world is a dark and scary place.
