    The Rise of the Guardians

Great refreshing Characters. This was enjoyable in the movie theater, and will be a must to own. This was a great story line with good against evil, and I think this will end up being one of our Holiday Classics that we will watch time and time again.

    good, BUT...

    The movie was cute except:
    (1) the movie starts with Jack Frost waking up in what appears to be an iced-over pond- he acts like he has amnesia and doesn't know who he is or why he is there- it's confusing & a bit odd
    (2) then, Jack Frost makes it clear that he wants to know where he came from
    (3) the most disturbing part of this odd theme is when they show Jack Frost having flashbacks of being a normal kid, taking his younger sister out to skate on a pond- the ice starts to crack and she freaks out-he tells her she will be ok-then he saves her, but HE falls in- it shows him sinking to the bottom, then the scene changes to show him now as Jack Frost-this is so morbid, scary, grotesque, and highly inappropriate for a kids movie. I am an adult and I found it scary. If I saw that as a child, I'd be traumatized.

    Do yourself a favor

I feel sorry for anyone who has written a review saying this movie is so-so or a "Oh-no" because I havent seen a more magical, colorful, sweet and funny movie as Rise of the Guardians not to mention an immediate Christmas classic that will endure like Rudolp. What an amazingly special gem Dreamworks has delivered. It is delightful in every sense of the word. It has imagination in it's reinvention of the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Santa..etc..etc I mean come on..Santa is a bad*** with his arms sleeved with tattoos....the Easter Bunny is 6'1" about a solid 195lbs..The tooth fairy and her little helpers are adorable and Jack Frost and the Sandman are even more incredible. The Sandman effects are so gorgeous that I had to see the movie twice in one day. Jude Law just rips it up as villan Pitch Black whos nightmarish stallions are as amazing as everything else. Santa awesome beefed up American Muscle sleigh...I could go on but seriously, do yourself a favor and go see this movie

    Better than expected...

I had no interest in seeing this movie originally, but on insistence of my children, I begrudgingly went. All in all, I left the theater pleasantly surprised and happy that I saw it.

    Rise of the Guardians

I really enjoyed all the personallities of the characters that we all come to believe in as children with a few new twists along the way.

Beautiful animation with a solid plot!

Most family oriented animated movies take the goofy route instead of being thoughtful and thought-provoking. "Rise of the Guardians" takes an ambitious route: a solid, well thought out plot combined with stunning visuals.

My six and seven-year-old boys loved it, they were engaged from start to finish. There was never a lull in the action nor the plot. This is a holiday must see for the entire family!

    Great Movie!

This movie was really great. It was even better than I thought it would be! It's not just a kid's movie. Everyone should go see it, no matter how old you are. It isn't just about fantasy, it has a great action to it and a good plot line, and it keeps you glued to the screen until the very end. It's satisfying and the detail in it is amazing. The lines were true to the type of charactors, and it was altogether a brilliant must-see.

    Great family movie

    by

My daughter, now 19, wanted to see this, but after reading the critics point of view I was skeptical. I was so wrong, I am willing to eat my elf shoes! It was fantastic! We saw it in 3D.... and completely worth seeing!!! I wont give anything away but let me tell you... it really is worth the $12 ticket.

    Rise of Guardians is great

The best part about this is that it brings back all the characters from us parents' childhood - jack frost, the boogey man or is it bogey man??? I don't think a lot of our grand children and some of our children hear about jack Frost or the Boogey/Bogey man anymore. It's put together very well and is really cute. I don't know that I would take kids younger than 4 to the show, I guess it would depend on how afraid they are of certain things. The Boogey Man character is a little distressing. Jack Frost is adorable - Santa has a russian accent - different for us here in my household, the tooth fairy is adorable and they have a new thought about what happens with the teeth that they pick up from the children. They all come around to help each other get things put right and it's really cute. I will probably buy this one for my home library.

    Amazing movie!

This movie completely reinvented all of the characters involved. It gives kids & adults a wonderful new idea of what these characters stand for AND encourages them to continue to believe in them. We all loved it!!

    Great movie!

    by fva321

Ride of the Guardians is a perfectly entertaining movie for both kids and adults alike. I highly recommend watching it. The story is strongly supported by great animation, witty and funny story lines and a good plot to incorporate all characters.

    very good

saw it twice with different grandkids ranging in age from 3-11yrs. They all liked it. I liked it enough to see twice. Good story, good message and humor too.
The Australian Easter Bunny was my favorite.
