Excellent movie whether your 7 or 70

    by samkee

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It has a simple story that still offers enough to keep grown ups interested. There's the obvious conflict of trying to keep the Bogeyman (named "Pitch") from turning all children into fearful disbelievers in the Guardians, but the conflict that will interest adults is Jack Frost's internal conflict: He doesn't know where he came from or why he's here... if that isn't a universal question, I don't know what is :-).

The film does a great job of being sweet without being saccharin. There's no schmaltz here, just warm-hearted wonder. I also really appreciate the absence of pop-culture references which so often smack of uninspired pandering.

The animation is breath-taking. My only complaint about it is that there are a number of ride/chase scenes that seem to be purposely trying to induce dizziness, but that's a small trifle. This film is a visual feast. Don't wait for DVD!

It might be a bit scary for younger kids, so note the PG rating.

Loved it! Great for Adults and Children!

    by

This film is what the holidays are all about! Children, fun, heart, and love!

It's funny, dramatic, and has many great acting points!

The voices are excellent as well as the animation.... It will bring you to near tears as well as to broad smiles...

Santa with his Dual-wielding sword fighting style, the sandman with ultra sand magic, the tooth fairy who will Kill you with cuteness and the easter bunny with his boomerangs will all draw you in and make you love them...

The main Character Jack Frost is very endearing and never comes very close to becoming evil... he brings hope and gives the audience something to relate to while inspiring hope!!!

    Great film! Must see!

Perfect for 'kids" of all ages...

    by

My 12-year-old son and I needed something to do for Christmas Eve, so we went to the movie. We absolutely loved it. Well made, entertaining, thoughtful, and perfect for the season. Be sure to check it out. Great movie to inspire believing in why we have these beings as part of our lives. Also makes you laugh out loud.

Not Just for the little ones!

You'll remember why cartoons were great as a kid & why as an adult, you have to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny. I love the animation of this movie - you feel like you can reach out & touch it & I didn't see it in 3-D so it must be amazing to see! It was funny & sad as well as full of all the things you believe when you're small & forget when you're an adult!

    Heartwarmingly Great

I just seen the movie and thought it was great. I took my son with me and he actually sat through the majority of it since he tends to peek in on the people sitting in front of us. lol - This is a heartwarming film that is a joy to watch. A movie for all ages. A change from the blasts, explosions, and gunfire. While the humor in it is slightly limited, the elves and the Yetis fills that small gap. In addition to the wonder and magic mixed with the everyone's childhood characters (with a twist), overall, it was great movie. Even if I didn't have my son, I would have definitely gone to see it. If you haven't gone and seen it yet, go. You will definitely enjoy it.

Charming New Look at Beloved Childhood Icons

    by Mehlsky

This movie offers a completely new take on familiar children's figures..a tattooed Russian Santa Claus; a six-feet-one, lean Australian tough guy Easter Bunny, a feathered humming bird Tooth Fairy, among others. Eye popping animation and an endearing theme of belief and self-discovery. Very young children might be frightened by some images, but anyone over the age of about 6 should enjoy the fantasy and charm of the picture. Alec Baldwin is a standout as the voice of Santa, bigger than life.

Such an awesome festive show for the holidays

    by uso099

So uplifting and entertaining from beginning to end. Great moral teachings and it actually helped me explain by much better illustration, about all these characters to my three young girls. I recognized the actors voices and very well casting for them as well. It all blended so well. GREAT MOVIE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

    Family friendly

    by Seven79

There are a few scary parts according to my 4-year old. There's a nice take on many childhood characters. Santa, has a Russian accent, Easter bunny, an australian one. Cute movie and a lot of fun.

    Not a Christmas movie

The sub-plot about Jack Frost was sweet but the threat/villian was not well defined; the Russian santa was a little outside the typical tradition most American children would be accustomed to re Santa Claus and I was under the missimpression that this would be at least somewhat related to Christmas which it was not. It kept my 6 year old's attention but she didnt have much to say about it - nice imagery but not very cohesive.

    Really cute movie!

I want a Yeti and a Sandman! The characters in this story were charming and the storyline was terrific! I highly recommend this movie for any kid or adult over 5.

    Rise of the Guardens Rises

    by THOM2

Rise of the Guardians is a great family movie. The acting is amazing with a good plot. It has a heart warming lesson for children, a wonderful score for music lovers, and some nice action scenes for anyone. It's the Avengers for children.

    Great family movie

    by

Follows the basic archetype of a feel-good family movie. The CG was really well done as expected. The take on your classical holiday favorites is refreshing and different. My kids and I really enjoyed this movie. You can always tell a good kids movie, when you aren't chasing them up and down the aisle because they lost interest.

    Rise of the Guardians

This movie was very dark. It equated believing in Santa with preventing evil. What's up with that? I was depressed when I left the movie -- the Boogie man looked like the shooter of the school in CT. I should have taken them to see The Hobbit instead, but I was worried that The Hobbit would be too violent. I think the themes in this movie were about as dark...
