Pretty good for a fan of the horror genre

I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of good horror. it's original and twisted but they give too much away in the previews. The non-horror fan will think this movie is dumb.

I wouldn't pay to see it again

The movie has an okay plot but the execution of the film lacked. I liked how this Horror movie had a meaning to why what was happening was happening. However, the movie just packed something. It was ok the first time round but not again.

omg! i want my $7 back

first of all i never heard about this movie before until i went online to see what was playing ...then i read all the great reviews about this movie so i said i have to see it because i am huge horror movie fan....this movie is so bad where do i begin...sigourney weaver, really i cant believe she would lower herself by being in this trash.....ok really had to get that off my chest....5 friends (jock nerd pothead virgin ****) go up to this cabin ...not knowing it is being controlled by these persons who have to sacrifice people to keep some evil being from taking over the world.....enough said....but....so they let them choose the way they want to die by locking them in a basement and conjure up these zombies to kill them.....then it just get worse after that.....the best thing about this movie was when it ended and of course chris hemsworth with his shirt off.

Funny Slasher Movie

I had no idea what this was going to be about. However, it turned out to be a kind of comedy and also a slasher movie. Unique story bringing together all kinds of stories.

Fun if you like slasher movies that are not too serious.

OMFB I AM SO LIKE EXCITED RIGHT NOW AFTER SEEING THIS

ok i just saw this movie and so when i left i said HOLY **** that was a real good movie it was the best movie i have ever seen this year and i am serious i will be buying this dvd it great scares laughs and it had a great body count and it had great gore and lot's of blood and this did really turn the horror genre inside out i am totally seeing this again i am tots buying this dvd when it comes out aah i cant wait LOLZ

Umm what?

This movie was a mix between a teenage cliche, 13 ghosts, and underworld. It was slightly confusing. They didnt really set the scene or commit to certain situations. It wasnt scary, and eventually just became funny. The concept was a good idea, they should of approached it differently.

Truly original concept with excellent execution

Love the whole take on the ritual sacrifice plot element and using it as a vehicle to basically serve as a tribute to the scray/horror genre - very well done.

GO!... But Only if You Are a Fan of EVIL DEAD

Yes, if you are a fan of Movies like EVIL DEAD and such, then you might like this film. It has that same mix of Comedy and not so scary Horror. The plot is very original. But if you are looking for a really scary movie (false advertising), then you will be disappointed. The only thing I will say bad is that I didn't care for the ending. It just bothered me, but no spoilers here. Maybe I expected something different (thus my warning to you). The good points: the acting, directing and comedy were very good. And you will get your fill of monsters. Fandango Fan David Mello stated that this movie was shot before Thor, which answered my questions about Hemsworth starring in it. But it was Fran Kranz as Marty that stole the show, along with the bad guys of course. Maybe this film will grow on me in time, as other fans seem to really enjoy it. But Geek Soul Brother has to call it like he sees it. I give it 3.0 out of 5 Cosmic Afros. Google me if you want more GSB.

Cabin in the Woods

This was much less of a movie than I expected. I almost walked out when the girl started making out with a dead wolf. The story did not hold together, it was sketchy and almost meaningless. I give this two stars.

Just plain awful!!!!!!!! Absolutely not what I expected the move to be like. After reading previews, I thought the film was going to be like I Know What You Did Last Summer. A zombie movie is not what i had in mind.

If You Like Fear, This Works!

So what if The Cabin in the Woods employs every fear inducing cliche known to horror and sci-fi, with Sigourney Weaver to boot? You will be scared. Guaranteed. Also, so what if there is so much muck the scenes are redolent of the camp song "great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts?" Or if there is homage to Exorcist levels of projectile vomiting? You will be scared AND grossed out. Best of all, there is a moral to this tale, which I will not tell. Because that would spoil a fun weekend.

For horror geeks with a sense of humor

CITW is not a straight up horror film, but a deconstruction of horror films. The less you know going into it, the better. Bring an open mind and a sense of humor.
