In the new Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph, an arcade-game villain decides to turn over a new leaf and become a hero, but he discovers that the path to becoming one of the good guys isn't an easy one to walk. Agreed, but I also think Moe, Larry, Curly, Blu, Paul Blart, and Spongebob are other good examples.

How about the Iron Giant? Sure he was made somewhat simple due to a crash landing, but when a government agent ordered a nuclear launch aginst the robot (who happened to be in the same town as that agent), the giant saved his friend, that stupid agent, and the rest of the town by intercerpting the missle before it re-entered the atmosphere.

What about Megamind or Blu (Rio)? Blu is a blue macaw who can't fly and Megamind is a villain turned hero.
