President Snow is one of the most evil and feared characters in The Hunger Games books. He is the ruler of the Capitol and of the entire country of Panem. He always wears a white rose in his lapel to cover the scent of blood. Donald Sutherland will play Snow in the movie.

I always saw Katnis and Prim as the two girls from Narnia and Peers youngaer and a little chubby Cinnamon looks the way I thought he wild just with less curly hair Haymich more Irishy looking Edgy more... toy like and Presedent Snow younger looking with shorter hair
Damn auto correct Peeta, Cinna, and Effie

Why does Prim have to have a unibrow?

Personally I think the casting is great. I hate to bring the T (Twilight) word, and mind you I'm NOT comparing Hunger Games to that 'sorry for an excuse' movie but Oscar nominee Gary Ross is the director for Hunger Games; he's chosen wisely - talent over popularity/looks. The 4 major characters (Katniss/ Peeta/ Haymitch/ President Snow) that matter the most throughout the trilogy couldn't be better!

I like the cast for the most part. I pictured someone a little bigger for Peeta tho. I think Lenny Kravitz will be great. He already has the style and that mellow but in charge attitude. I think a scraggly Nathan Fillion would have been good to play Haymitch but I think Woody Harrelson will do well. I Love Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and she is exactly what I pictured! I think Liam Hemsworth is the perfect look for Gale but we will have to see how he is played out but I have hope! Movies rarely live up to the books because books leave more to the internal imagination than a movie can but I think it will be great!

I read the books because my 13 year old daughter loved them so much. My 17 year old got hooked after watching me enjoy them so much! We both thought that the actor from I Am Number Four, Alex Pettyfer, should've been cast as Peeta. It will be a good movie but never as good as in our mind:)

Uhmm.... What's her face... Paula Malcomson..... Totally not what I pictured Mrs. Everdeen to look like... She better play the part. O.o

Definitely hadn't pictured Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, but I'm excited to see what he does with the part. Woody Harrelson? AMAZING casting choice for Haymitch in terms of character. For some reason, in my head, I always pictured him and Effie to be a bit older than their casting choices look. For that same reason, I was surprised with the casting of Elizabeth Banks. I don't yet have an overall impression of her as an actress because I've only seen her on 30 Rock, so I can't give an opinion on whether she'll be able to annoy-yet-endear-herself-to everyone the way that Effie does in the book. Last--STANLEY TUCCI. LOVE! HIM!

Also, not to crush on anyone, this movie may not work out well considering not many movies portray the book to its fullest. Even the Harry potter movies, as popular as they were stumbled a bit on a couple of parts.

Everyone is going to be disappointed if you compare a movie to a book. Books have a lot more detail that is impossible to have in a movie. Enjoy the book and enjoy the movie for what it is, a tribute (no pun intended) to a great book.
yeah i agree i read the whole series and i loved them
Well said! (lol at the tribute remark).
A couple of the characters aren't what I had imagined. I don't know, maybe your views are different maybe Prim being a bit younger with shorter browner hair. Haymitch with longer shaggy hair. Cinna definitely, I imagined a bit differently. Finally, although in the book it says that most capital people strive to be skinnier i thought of those that are from the capital in this casting a bit more... plump.

Going to be great. Not everyone will agree on casting (even though none are casting agents) but once you see the story played out you will fall for the character portrayal if they are well done. I will be seeing this ASAP (maybe even opening night like a Twi-hard) and I just know it will be green-lit for the next one. Hope the love triangle thing will be down played once everyone realizes what the stories are REALLY about. Can't wait to hear more from the author of the novels as well.

Oh and it sounds like another Love Triangle...because nobody really wants to touch the reason why its called HG. Its a competition were 24 Children are being trained to kill each other...last one will take the prize

why do you thik i, a male, want to see it? the action and intensity of the survival of teenageres, of which i am, is compelling to me in a way that brings about my survival desires that i thourouly enjoy. i read the books not because there was some pathetic love triangle, but because there was an arena where 24 kids battle and survival untold horrors for a slice of glory and riches. yes there being trained to kill each other, this kind of theme if you will is the reason im anticipating this release so much, dont hate nor troll on this movie, if you dont want to spend your money on a trip of a lifetime adventure to a fantasic world of the hunger games then dont.

Don't feed the trolls
Casting sucks...they should be younger and more athletic

They aren't THAT much older than in the books. They did a great job of transforming Jennifer Lawrence into what I pictured Katniss to look like in my head while reading. Peeta was casted great too.

i don't know about peeta
I know exactly what you mean.....I had been thinking the same thing the 1st time I saw him. But after reading the books, I think Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) is going to "grow on us" just like he did in the books and with Katniss. It was probably a really good casting choice after all. If he was drop dead gorgeous it would be distracting from all that is going on (and SO much happens in these books). I am super excited for this movie!!
