Along with Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore is perhaps the greatest golf comedy, and one of Sandler’s most beloved movies. As an unsuccessful hockey player who possesses a powerful swing on the links, Sandler gets to have all kinds of good fun with co-stars Carl Weathers, Christopher McDonald’s “Shooter McGavin” and – in a classic cameo – “The Price Is Right”’s Bob Barker.
All the Adam Sandler's vicious comments on this site must come from Eddy Murphy, Richard Pryor, Andrew Dice Clay, Sam Kinneson's fans and others like them who achieved, for sometime, a level of fame fueled by profanity, blasphamy, etc.
Go ahead, be hateful. In the meantime, Mr. Sandler is having a great life and laughing all the way to the bank.
How many of you can claim the same or even close to what he has achieved with clean fun. The guy can make people laugh as well as cry.
In my book, he is GREAT!
Anyone that takes Adam seriously as an actor or even analyzes his abilities is a ******* idiot. The guy made cheap laughs for us in the 90's he wasnt trying to win any major motion picture awards. Even he knows hes been in some stupid *** roles as you see in Funny People he kinda makes fun of himself. Paulie shore was the same thing never meant to be great but he was a trend during his 15 minutes of fame, people using his movie catch phrases and then time did what it does to actors with limited to no ability. Dont hate on Adam he's by far not the worst thing to ever hit film. Life's too serious, sometimes its nice to watch something totally ridiculous as some of our lives are equivalent to the realism portrayed in serious films.
Adam Sandler is the living proof that garbage sells. And very well, too. Vulgarity, stupidity, bad taste reign supreme. Yes, I know: Millions of flies can't be wrong .....
The first individual who ironically does not have a name must be the biggest square. Who says that kind of stuff when talking about slapstick comedy? I feel sorry for the person's sad, cranky existence and hope that someday he/she develops a sense of humor or they will probably continue to hate all things in their terrible life.
Sandler is the man and no doubt that "talentless hack" has more cash and fans than you will ever have... Square.
Sure, everything he touches for the past 10 has been garbage in my opinion, but The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, Big Daddy, and Mr. Deeds are some of my favorites. He has even sparked other greats without him even being in them. Strange Wilderness, Benchwarmers, and Grandma's Boy.. Very good for a laugh. The previous comment wants to talk about the ignorance of America, I don't disagree fully, but he is a prime example of "judgemental America"..
Sandler is possibly the most talentless hack to ever be featured in a movie. I'm not sure who he knows in Hollywood, but somebody's definitely pulling strings for him. He's another Paulie Shore, another nobody that, thankfully, finally disappeared into the dustbin of cinematic history.
The fact that there are people who will pay money to see his schlock is testament to the enduring ignorance of the American theater-going public.
