Uma Thurman is so tall, so agile, and so convincingly dangerous that Quentin Tarantino gave her two movies to kick butt.

C'mon now... you gonna make me go old school on you and give props to two ladies who not only should be in the top five, but who were probably the very first to hit the major screen sho' nuff kicking some butt, Tamara Dobson .."Cleopatra Jones" and Pam Grier.."Foxy Brown". Then of course there's Michelle Rodriquez(SWAT, Aliens), Michelle Yeoh ( Crouching Tiger...") and Halle Berry..X- Men, Cat Woman)

Michelle Rodriguez wasn't in "Aliens". That was an actress named Jeanette Goldstein.

I have to second the nomination for Jennifer Garner in Alias, whose action heroics are even more remarkable in contrast and conjucnction with her romantic and comedic personae.

What about the lead in "The girl with the Dragon Tattoo" ?

All of those women in "Death Proof" reallly belong on this list. Not only were they bad """ in the movie, but they are bad *** in real life! They are all stunt women! The blonde aussie played Xena on tv, and was the stunt double for Uma Thurman in "Kill Bill".

Definitely Chloe Moretz as hitgirl in Kick-ass. She will put a hurtin on anyone in no time flat. As was said already, she's so young, cute and incredibly lethal. She deserves top 5 status for sure. Gina Davis also deserves deserves mentioning again for the last kiss goodnight.

Bridget Fonda in the remake of La Femme Nikita? SRSLY? Did you not watch the original? Now that girl would take Fonda to the bank and back again.

Agreed. How'd she not make this list?

Ok, so where's the little girl from the movie, "Kick Ass"? Yeah, it's Chloe Grace Moretz. And those lovely ladies from the movie, "Death Proof". Yo Kirk Russell. HaHa. Oh and from the movie, "Blood The Last Vampire", all the babes especially the Japanese one.

Great photo shots of extraodinary Action women in action: each talented in her rights. Especially liked seeing Actress Carrie Ann Moss from The MATRIX she was spectacular, nice to see her finally get credit for her works. She's bad ass!!! Also like Actresses Milli Jovovich (favorite), Michelle Yeoh (she was outta sight in Crouching Tiger), Angelina Jolie and Linda Hamilton etc.,. and the women from the TV hit series Cleopatra 2525, Actress Gina Torres (favorite) & Co. totally action impact Wow!!!! Looking forward to the young Actress Zoe Saldana (awesome in Star Trek & Avatar) kick mega-buns in her new movie COLUMBIA looks heartwrenching & action pack.

Really you guys forgot Hit-Girl again shes way more bad*** than Hanna even without being genetically altered to suppossedly be the perfect soldier. I mean she was portraid as a total bad*** and really it made me like Chloe Moretz which lead me to watch Let Me In where she was also pretty bad***. Hit Girl is my favorite because she should be on the top 5 of that list, shes tough, cool, shes small but can take down big dudes, shes only 12 and she is fricking awesome!

I forgot about little Hanna, she might be mine. She's a natural, expressive and different new actress who can make for such a convincing human being with a complicated chararcter, not just whip some tail.
We raise our glasses to the screen souses we can't forget, even after a few shots.
